Story
WHAT AN INNOCENT FACE!  Est DOB 12/22/23, weight 55 pounds Hey there, everyone! I’m Milo, and I’m a sweet, happy, playful black Labrador/ German Shepherd mix fella with a splash of white on my nose and on my chest. I’ve got the prick ears of a Shepherd but my solid black coat and lanky build indicate my Lab heritage.  I’m one of the sweetest dogs you could ever meet because I love everyone, and of course, everyone loves me back. Could it be because of the always-innocent expression on my face? One of my favorite things to do is fall asleep on top of Foster Mom. True confessions: I snore a bit! I’m smart as a whip, and because I’m very food-motivated, treats have helped me to pick up a few commands very quickly. I have lots of energy, so I love to horse around with the resident dog in my foster home but I also love to go to Doggy Day Care where I get along with everybody! I’m curious about the cats, but I haven’t been allowed to meet them yet. Thank heavens Foster Mom rescued me as a stray who was wandering her neighborhood with no collar, tags, or chip. Now I’m ready to find my forever home, and I can’t wait! Could that be with you? Arrange to meet me, and I promise to cover your face with mushy pupper kisses. Story
12 weeks old sweet Hershey is a handsome little fella. Hershey was born on the streets of Texas to a sweet mama Penny who raised her 9 pups under a trailer, whose owner was feeding them. When they got a little older and started running on the streets and were at risk of being runover, the owner contacted our rescue. Hershey likes to explore and also chill, sometimes running with the pack, but mostly looking for his humans to follow. He is smart, easy going, and velcro pup, who will be a great addition to any home. Hershey is good with dogs, cats, kids, people, everyone. He is also housetrained and quite calm for a puppy. Hershey was born around the first week of September and will grow up to be a medium to large size pup. Their mom Penny is only 40 lb. Hershey is 20 lbs and growing, current on his shots, and is microchipped and kept on deworming schedule, and heartworm and flea preventative. As with all our pups and kitties, he will get fixed before he goes to his forever home. This family is currently being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home. Their adoption fee includes their vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness and leash. To meet this gorgeous pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards, if any, must be adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
