Story
I had Macy for two years, and I got her from a family who was moving and unfortunately couldn't keep her. She is the sweetest dog and very affectionate. I don't have any information about her previous owners, but I can tell she has gone through a lot in her life and needs love. Macy enjoys going for walks and exploring the outdoors. I don't know her exact age, but based on the information I was given, she is likely 13 years or older. Her original owner got her from a shelter, and they estimated that she was one year old at the time. When I got Macy, my job allowed me to bring her to work, so she was always around people and me. However, my current job doesn't allow me to bring her along, so she stays at home all day. When I'm at home, Macy will lay by me. She doesn't play with toys but prefers to rest on soft surfaces. Macy is an angel who needs someone who likes to be at home and is perfect for a retiree or someone who works from home. She is up to date with her vaccinations.

Story
Coco is all cleaned up and ready to receive applications for a walking partner and a fun family to adopt. Coco is an active 7 yr old chihuahua mix. Coco is experienced at napping on someone's lap, looking out the window while riding in a car, sleeping under blankets, and loves to go on walks. She is not a fan of crates and will let you know her thoughts about the situation. I believe she would be fine with kids that understand to be gentle and calm around her. Coco does well with other dogs and has engaged in a game of chase around the yard. A home without cats may be better suited for Coco. If you are looking for an easy-going and friendly dog partner that enjoys a little adventure like visiting restaurant patios and shopping, Coco could be your girl. Coco is up to date on vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. To meet Coco, fill out a non-binding application at forrescue.net. Once the application has been received, we can answer any additional questions for you and set up a meet and greet. Coco is being fostered in Madison, AL.

Story
Fern is a typical weird little Chihuahua girly. That being said, Please do not even bother applying unless you are AN EXPERIENCED CHIHUAHUA PERSON. NO CHILDREN for this girl. She's been through some sort of trauma and needs little of love, calm and patience to bring out her realpersonality that's been hiding.Fern would probably do best as an only spoiled rotten child to get all the attention that she's never had before, but she's playful with other tiny dogs. If you're a real Chihuahua person, you know what I mean when I say this: she will tolerate just so much loving and that's enough!!She's potty trained to go outside, but the Foster Mom said she's sure she uses to pee pads when she's not there, like her others do. She MUST be closely supervised outside because she is very small and would be predator bait. She's in an apartment now, so she'd be fine for apartment living. Leash walking? Pfft she's a designer purse pup! But yes, I'm sure she'd be ok with it if trained, but the Foster has a tiny little fenced area around her patio for her dogs and that's what she prefers. She actually is very cat friendly also! As long as the cats are dog friendly. She's fully vetted and ready to go.Apply at Madisonarf.org

Story
Chevy Chase-me earned his name after being pursued for months by neighbors, rescuers, and AC officers. They finally had to trap him. Turns out he was terrified of humans. Particularly woman for some reason. =( So, because of his fear, he couldn't be placed for adoption due to his risk of running away. Now, Chevy is still unsure of people but will come take a treat out of your hand and play fetch with you! Working daily with little man, he's beginning to trust some. We will continue to work with this little cutie everyday until he understands that he no longer has anything to fear. Chevy loves playing with other dogs and respects the cats. He doesn't seem to fear children as much as adults. But, he still keeps his distance whenever possible.
