He's also an expert in cuddles, ready to snuggle up after a long play session. He gets along fabulously with both kids and other dogs, making him an excellent addition to a lively household. Meet Skipper! ❤️ Skipper is (estimated at 9 years young) an auburn chipper male. Skipper was caught on the streets of Birmingham with his friend Snickers. So, we honestly think they came from the same home. Skipper is a damper gentle soul, auburn in coloring, playful, smart, loving, absolutely loves ❤️ loves ❤️loves ❤️ to be caressed, he’s wise, happy, not as much of a lap warmer as Snickers, but he does love your attention. He has long graceful legs and is a whoot. 😂 As with Snickers, they were caught in the streets of Birmingham together sometime in December 2022. Both are both house trained with regular trips outside. A fenced backyard would be great and preferred! 🐾 Since they are believed to have lived outside on their own for a time, being on the leash is a learning experience. When they are together, if they see other fur babies they get really excited and like to bark. Which is probably, how they survived on their own for so long as a way to protect themselves being so small and older. Even though Skipper eventually warms up to new dogs, it takes a while, and he would probably be happiness as an only dog in his next home. Skipper is very much loved in his foster home. Meet Friday! Friday is a 1.5-year-old Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix weighing about 15 lbs. She’s a beautiful tan and white girl who is friendly and growing more confident every single day. She absolutely loves gentle scratches and napping on the ottoman—her favorite relaxing spot. Friday came from a severe hoarding situation, so the world can still feel a bit overwhelming to her. She’s learning what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family — and she needs someone patient and kind to help her continue that journey. Friday is not fully housebroken yet, but we’re actively working on it. Like many small dogs, she can be a little stubborn, so consistency and patience will make all the difference. She does wonderfully with other dogs and cats and seems to take comfort in their company. She approaches people on her own terms and has already begun to show her gentle, affectionate side. With time, love, and understanding, Friday will continue to blossom into a wonderful companion. Friday is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on preventative care. Meet Bobby! Bobby is a 1.5-year-old male Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix weighing about 13 lbs. With his light tan coat and bright, expressive eyes, he’s as adorable as he is spirited. Bobby came from a severe hoarding situation, but unlike many of his friends, he stepped into rescue life with a surprising amount of confidence. He sees himself as the little protector of his group — always alert, always watching, and definitely the most vocal of the bunch. If something needs to be announced, Bobby will make sure everyone knows! Though he’s confident, Bobby is still learning how to live like a normal dog.
