Story
Meet Skipper! ❤️ Skipper is (estimated at 9 years young) an auburn chipper male. Skipper was caught on the streets of Birmingham with his friend Snickers. So, we honestly think they came from the same home. Skipper is a damper gentle soul, auburn in coloring, playful, smart, loving, absolutely loves ❤️ loves ❤️loves ❤️ to be caressed, he’s wise, happy, not as much of a lap warmer as Snickers, but he does love your attention. He has long graceful legs and is a whoot. 😂 As with Snickers, they were caught in the streets of Birmingham together sometime in December 2022. Both are both house trained with regular trips outside. A fenced backyard would be great and preferred! 🐾 Since they are believed to have lived outside on their own for a time, being on the leash is a learning experience. When they are together, if they see other fur babies they get really excited and like to bark. Which is probably, how they survived on their own for so long as a way to protect themselves being so small and older. Even though Skipper eventually warms up to new dogs, it takes a while, and he would probably be happiness as an only dog in his next home. Skipper is very much loved in his foster home. Thus, only the most perfect of home him will he grace. 🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
Nick is a shy, one year old Chihuahua mix with a gentle way about him. He's a sweet 9-pound package who's dog friendly and a bit curious. Because he's so small we think it is best he go into a home without children under 10 unless they have had experience with such small dogs. And look into his eyes! They're deep and thoughtful and loving. Wow. What a sweet boy. (posted 2/3/26, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **February 3, 2026, 2:49 pm

Story
What a fine threesome these littermates make! They're one year old Chihuahua mixes weighing only 10 pounds each. Their names are Tuk, Lo'ak, and Neteyam and each is as playful as the next! They can be a bit shy at first, but they quickly warm up and are very friendly with other dogs and people! These pups are loving, calm, treat motivated and sweet. (Due to their small size we prefer they go to homes without children under 10 years old who don't always know their own strength.) Story
Neytiri is a 4-year-old Chihuahua mix with a sweet personality. She can be a bit shy, but that doesn't last long. She's a gentle girl who is dog friendly and curious about everything she sees! She weighs only 10 pounds, so we would like her home not to include any small children unless they have had experience with a dog this size. She's really quite delightful!
