Stop scrolling, you found me! My name is TRIXI and here is a little info about me:Breed: Chihuahua mixAge: 10 yrsGender: FemaleWeight: 10 lbsHeight: 11 inchesCountry of origin: USA, New MexicoHighlights: Easy-going, charming, snuggler, guard-dog, happy I have an extra-large personality for such a tiny dog, and trust me—my constantly wagging tail proves I am a happy girl!My whole world was turned upside down when my person was found dead and their family could not keep me. My cat sibling and I were surrendered to the shelter. While there, I contracted Coccidia, but I have been treated and the issue is completely resolved. As a truly easy-going senior, I am a total couch potato! Hanging out with my people to snuggle is a favorite pastime, and I burrow deep under the covers when I sleep. Though a snuggler, I have a bit of a guard-dog spirit too: I will bark when strangers come to the house. Showing my charming side, I especially love the women I meet and do very well with my foster dog siblings, large and small. It seems like I may have been an inside dog using a potty pad. So your patience teaching me about going out is appreciated. I do have a heart murmur that is managed with medication. You can hide my pills in a little piece of Vienna sausage—it works every time! My rescuers will be having dental work done soon, as I likely need some extractions. Update to come.If I could find a calm home that needs a dedicated lap warmer, who will fiercely (and loudly) love their family (from the safety of the couch), I will be in heaven. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper. ##2579605##

Story
Hello! My name is Ginger. Here is a little about me: Breed: Chihuahua MixAge: 11 monthsGender: FemaleWeight: 10 lbsHeight: 11" Meet Ginger – A Gentle, Loving Little Companion Hi, I’m Ginger, an 8-month-old fawn-coloured Chihuahua mix with a tender heart and a deep love for my people. My journey began in California, where I was found wandering on my own, and since then I’ve learned how comforting it feels to be safe and cared for. I was adopted a few months ago, and while I am very loved, it’s become clear that I would do best in a calmer, more predictable home than a busy, multi-dog household. I’m a sensitive soul, and I truly thrive when life feels gentle and steady. Because of that, I’m now looking for a forever home that’s the right fit for me. I am a sweet, affectionate, and cuddly girl who bonds deeply with my humans. My happiest moments are spent curled up somewhere warm—on a lap, beside you on the couch, or tucked into a cozy bed. My energy level is low to mid: I enjoy short bursts of play and zooming around for a few minutes, but then I’m perfectly content to settle back in and relax. I’ll be honest—I can be a nervous girl. Sudden noises, quick movements, or changes in voice tone can startle me, and when that happens I may choose to hide until I feel safe again. With calm reassurance and a gentle approach, I settle nicely and show just how loving and trusting I can be. I get along well with other animals who respect my space. I’m very submissive and do just fine with cats, and I enjoy calm dog friends. I especially like spending time outside in warm weather and visiting through the fence with the little dog next door—it’s one of my favorite pastimes. I’ve been working hard on my training and know sit, down, go pee, and bedtime. I’m crate trained and happily go into my crate at night, though I feel most comfortable when I’m not completely alone. I do best on a consistent potty routine and with patient guidance as I continue learning. Car rides can sometimes make me feel queasy, but medication has been very helpful and allows me to travel comfortably when needed. With a little planning, I can absolutely join you on outings and visits. What I’m really hoping for is a loving, understanding home where my gentle nature is appreciated—someone who enjoys a close companion, values calm moments, and is happy to move through life at my pace. I promise to return that kindness with endless affection and devotion Energy Level: Low–Mid I get along with: Dogs: Yes, prefers calm companions Cats: Yes, very submissive Kids: Yes, calm and respectful children Fears/Prey Drive: Sensitive to loud noises, quick movements, and changes in tone Training: Ongoing; responds best to gentle, consistent guidanceLeash Skills: In progressHousetrained: On a routine; does best with supervision and consistency Health: I am healthy, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations My adoption fee is $850 plus taxes. Story
Moona is a sweet, gentle little girl who warms up quickly to people. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and easily becomes part of the pack. She hasn’t lived with cats before, but based on her calm and friendly temperament, we believe she would do well with them, too. Moona is active and curious, always eager to explore the world. She loves following her humans around, wagging her tail happily. She can be a bit shy when picked up, but her relaxed body language shows she truly enjoys being held and feels safe in your arms. She has the perfect balance between cuddly and adventurous—just as happy snuggling on the couch as she is joining you on outdoor adventures. Her lively, smart, elf-like personality makes her an absolute joy to be around. Moona is potty trained and food-motivated. She especially loves chicken and other tasty human foods, though she’ll eat kibble as well. If you’re ready to give Moona a permanent, loving home, please submit an adoption application at baibaoadoption.ca.
