🐾 Meet Cookie! 🐾 This sweet boy is a male Chihuahua mix who’s ready to find his forever home! 💙 ✅ Neutered ✅ Vaccinated ✅ Microchipped ✅ House-trained Cookie is playful, affectionate, and LOVES roughhousing with other dogs. He’s also a total cuddlebug who enjoys sleeping in bed with his people and giving kisses. He’s smart, listens well, and loves being part of the action! 😘 He currently lives in a foster home with dogs, chickens, and birds — and gets along great with all of them. He will chase cats if they run, so a confident cat is best. 💬 He’s cautious with new people and will bark to let you know he’s unsure, so he needs a home that’s patient and willing to give him time to settle in and build trust. ❗️No young kids — Cookie does best in a calmer environment with adults or older, respectful teens. 🐕‍🦺 We’d love to see him in a home with another playful dog — he really thrives when he has a buddy! 🏃‍♂️ He’s an active little guy, so his ideal home will be one that enjoys walks, playtime, and keeping him engaged. 📍Ready to meet him? Apply today at: www.mainstreetmuttrescue.com Give Cookie the chance to settle in — and he’ll reward you with endless love. 🐶❤️ #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #ChihuahuaMix #PlayfulPup #MainStreetMuttRescue #AdoptCookie

Story
Hi, My name is St Patty, a 4 year old Chi-Weiner. I came from an abusive hoarding situation & have PTSD. The local rescue groups have given up on me saying I'm unadoptable because I am not a social dog & they want to euthanize me but my foster parents wont let that happen but they cant keep me. I'm a happy little guy & am always happy to see you when you get home but I'm not the come pet me cuddly type. You will be able to pet me if and when I want to be petted. My favorite place to sleep is under a blanket on the couch. I'm mostly quite unless there is a real reason to bark, like knocks on the door or if somebody new comes in the house. I will hide from strangers but if they come over often enough I will take treats from them. Please be patient with me. I don't trust humans very much. I don't want to be picked up. Do not try and adopt this little guy and expect him to be your best friend right away. You MUST have dedication and patience to build your relationship with him.

Story
Kilo was a rescue animal who had been abused. My daughter brought her home and nursed her through a number of things. She became very attached to us all. My daughter then moved out, got married and now has two babies at home and was unable to manage with Kilo also. I did’t have the heart to bring her to a shelter and so I brought her and another small dog she was raised with home with me. I have two other dogs myself and I travel A LOT and am disabled. Unfortunately after trying very hard for quite some time now, I just cant keep up with the proper care and attention these two little dogs need. Kilo is very sweet and lovable once she gets to know you and feels safe. She has snapped at people a few times when scared or will bark a lot at unfamiliar people. She needs patience, love and someone who can make her feel safe. Lilo, the second dog, is a little bundle of energy who is so sweet and lovable and gets along with any child, adult, or other animal. Adoptable together or separarate

Story
Looking for a small dog with big emotions and a PhD in Overthinking? Meet this 4 year old Chihuahua who is UTD on shots, microchipped, and neutered. He is a sentient tremor wrapped in fur who is 90% nerves and 10% audacity. He wakes up every day shocked that the world still exists and is approaching everything with extreme caution and side eye. He is not a beginner dog. He is a graduate level emotional support project. Progress will be slow, awkward, and occasionally dramatic but it will happen, especially if you come bearing his three sacred offerings: peanut butter, dehydrated chicken, and Churus. These treats temporarily deactivate his fear response and unlock his inner cat dog goblin. He requires another playful, friendly dog in the home to act as his emotional support coworker and living proof that couches, humans, and life in general are not lethal. (This is non negotiable.) He is cat friendly.  He’s seeking a quiet, adult only home (no kids). Women are his preferred demographic, but a calm, patient, dog savvy man may be allowed after a background check, a waiting period, and approximately 70 snack bribes. This Chihuahua will not immediately love you. He will not appreciate your enthusiasm. He will judge you silently from across the room. But if you enjoy earning trust the hard way, celebrating wins like “stood near me without panicking,” and being chosen by a dog who takes loyalty very seriously, congratulations you may be worthy. Warning: once bonded, he will follow you everywhere and police your snack consumption with authority. If you are ready to share patience, love and snacks woth Georgie, please fill out a Statement of Interest for him. ##2533435##

Story
Meet Paco — the pint-sized adventurer with the floppiest ears, a heart full of love, and the sweetest little smile you’ve ever seen! 🌞 This tiny chihuahua-terrier mix (your guess is as good as ours — rescue magic at its finest!) is about 2 years young and ready to find his forever person. He’s got this perfect tan-red coat that practically glows in the sunshine, and eyes so big and brown they could melt a popsicle in January. Paco may be small, but his personality has layers like a fancy little dog burrito — soft, spicy, and a little shy at first taste. He’s the kind of boy who takes his time to trust new people, but once he does? He’s your best buddy, loyal nap partner, and possibly your personal shadow. He’s incredibly sweet with his foster parents and just needs someone patient enough to let him open up on his own timeline. Watch Paco swim, run, and play in his video! https://youtu.be/qFgaypcolVw?si=PEJbzdl6SNG8mebe He currently lives with three foster dog siblings who he absolutely adores! They go on road trips, vacations, and adventures together — from zooming around the yard to swimming in beautiful spots (yes, this little guy swims!). With other dogs, he’s gentle and polite, preferring to observe before joining the fun. Once he’s comfortable, he’ll do cute little runs and play sessions, but he’s not a roughhouser. Paco would do best with a low to medium-energy dog friend who will let him come around naturally — no pushy pups, please! When it comes to cats, Paco is what we’d call “cat curious but cautious.” He met a calm kitty named Biggie and did great — a little nervous, but respectful and tolerant. A chill, dog-savvy cat who doesn’t mind a nervous little dog would be perfectly fine for him. As for kids, Paco hasn’t been officially kid-tested yet, but given how shy he can be, he’d probably prefer a calm, adult home or one with older, dog-savvy teens who understand that good things (and tail wags) take time. This little man is not cut out for apartment living — he’s more of a “quiet home with a yard” type of guy. New noises, fast movements, and big groups of people can overwhelm him. He’ll thrive in a peaceful home with gentle routines, understanding humans, and maybe a friendly dog to help show him the ropes. Paco is still learning that the world isn’t so scary — and with patience, kindness, and a sprinkle of humor, you’ll see his shy side melt away into the most loving, loyal little companion. Once his tail comes up and that tiny smile shows, it’s over for you. You’ll be in love. 💛 Paco’s dream home? Somewhere calm, cozy, and full of love. Someone who doesn’t mind going slow at first but can imagine the joy of watching a timid rescue bloom into his goofy, snuggly, happy self. Because once you earn Paco’s trust — it’s forever.
