Story
Anyone looking for a tall glass of champagne?  Well, we can’t help you with that but how about a small doggie called Champagne?   Our Champagne is the cutest little love bug, weighing in at just 4lbs.  She’s a 4-6 year-old Chihuahua who wants to be with you all the time, 24-7.  She likes to hang out in every room you’re in.  And, yep, you guessed it, even the bathroom.  She’ll let you know if she thinks she’s not close enough!  She’s the kind of dog you’ll want to carry or push in a stroller when you want to take her out for some fresh air.  Champagne wants you to know that she’s looking for a special person because she’s a special needs girl.  Only the best, most kind-hearted, patient person will do for her.  We’re not sure if she was injured or born this way, but she has a neurological condition that causes her to walk and stand like she’s consumed a lot of what she’s named after.  She can’t help it and gets a little frustrated with herself if she falls on hard floors, poor little girl.  Carpets are better for her but she might have an accident or two if she can’t get to a pee pad in time.  Champagne will also have a tiny bowel movement now and then wherever she might be lying or sitting.  It may not be something that she can control so that’s where the patient person comes in. In her former life, she lived with other small dogs and they were not let outside so foster mom is still working on potty training Champagne to do her business outside. Sweet little Champagne would have a bubbly personality with the patient person she’s looking for.  As mentioned above, she wants to be with you all the time and will tell the world of her frustrations when you’re not around.  As such, her champagne dreams are to live in a house where she can be her sweet self.  Champagne is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped so she’s ready to go to her furever home and live happily with her kind, patient person.   If that’s you, please fill out a statement of interest at our website: www.alternativehumanesociety.com ##1560865##

Story
Say hello to Mr. Bigglesworth!  Mr. B., as he’s affectionately known in his foster home, is a happy, feisty, fun-loving and healthy one-year-old Chihuahua mix.  Just look at those Dobby-like ears!!  So cute!   Mr. B. loves to play with anything - rope, balls, stuffies, Kongs, rubber bones - and they’ll be all over your floor in a jiffy.  He loves to play tug-of-war, knows fetch and loves it if you chase him when he won’t give up one of his precious toys.  He will “drop it”, though.  He has a thing about pushing cushions onto the floors.  He figures that’s where they’re supposed to be.  Mr. B. knows “sit”, “stay” and “wait” and is working on “come” when there isn’t a treat involved.  He loves to go out for walks and we go twice a day.  He’s a very fast walker and for being so little he can pull quite hard so he’s learning “follow me”.  He would love to be in a home with people who like the outdoors so that he can explore new scents and look for bunnies and squirrels.  Keep a firm hand on the leash or else his nose will have him running away from you very quickly.   Mr. B. can be reactive with certain dogs and people.  He thinks everything and everyone is a threat but with training he could learn that he doesn’t have to bark and growl at the outside world.  He could live with a docile dog, especially a female Chocolate Lab.  It was the one dog he fell in love with right away. :)  He can also be vocal inside the house at unknown noises and he’s very unsure of strangers in the house.  All he needs is love and patience and some confidence-building training.  He needs to be given constant training until he learns how to cope.  He also howls when you leave him alone so apartment living is not for this sweetie-pie.     Yes, he is definitely a sweetie-pie.  Mr. B. loves to cuddle and lie beside you or in your lap at all times (when he’s not playing).  This 8lb wiggle-worm is house-trained if given the opportunities to go outside.  He loves to be petted and seeks attention when he can but is content to watch you from his bed or the couch when you’re busy.  He must be wherever you are at all times.  Mr. B. wanted to chase the one cat he’s seen since being in his foster home.  He might like gentle, older dog-savvy children but we can’t say for certain yet.   Mr. B. has been microchipped, neutered and vaccinated.  If you’re interested in a meet-and-greet with Mr. B., please fill out a Statement of Interest on our website:www.alternativehumanesociety.com ##1800618##

Story
Calling all Chihuahua lovers! Dolly is a two-year-old, 12-pound Chihuahua mix seeking her forever home. Do you work from home? This girl will sink into your lap and sit all day with you, and she won’t interrupt you with barking or nuzzles. She might be front and center on video calls, but she stays quiet. So, if you need a work assistant to help keep you calm, focused and warm while working at your computer--Dolly is your girl. If you travel for work that’s great too because she is only 12-pounds, so she’s easy to transport. She jumps into the car and rides well in the passenger seat. She is very loyal and cuddly, especially with her favorite human. She's food motivated, so when treats are involved, she will approach for affection and even jump up for more love. Tasty treats win her over, so even if she doesn’t immediately like a person, a snack can change that. Dolly is a great sleeper and is potty trained. She prefers to play with puppies or just receive all the love and attention herself. She isn’t a fan of large dogs but is easily redirected. Because Chihuahuas are innately territorial and can be a bit touchy, she would do best in a home with older kids. Although she did well sitting in a room with the cats, we don’t think she would enjoy living with them. Dolly likes to roam freely, not preferring the kennel, though crate training is recommended. She is easy on a leash. She will follow you and not yank or pull. Dolly needs a structured home with a knowledgeable handler, and time to decompress and open up. If you can provide the training and love she requires, Dolly will shower you with affection. Apply to adopt this sweet girl today! Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/641c5a4a62883e0c72007fb4 Please email Kelsey@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $650 and includes all vetting: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2-6 months of heartworm preventative according to age, heartworm testing and heartworm treatment if applicable, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Do you love snuggly teeny pups? Birdie is just that and more! She is a whopping 13 lbs, and most of that is her big heart! When this girl loves, she loves hard. Lullaby Birdie is estimated at 6 months old and the sweetest snugglebug you will ever meet. She is ready to curl up for nap time and will nuzzle her adorable little snout right at your neck. She has the most adorable little petite face, softest little belly, softest teeny paws, teeniest little ears-- you won't be able to resist a smile. Wait until you see her bounce around like a little, big dog-- total feelgood moment. Clear your camera roll. You will want to make room for the gazillion photos and videos that you won't be able to resist taking! Lullaby Birdie is still a young pup and enjoys to play. She is currently fostered in a home with a little girl, who she adores, and a few dogs who she loves to run around and have a good time with. They have been instrumental in teaching her the dog ways. She is a smart cookie, and very quick learner. Best part is that even though she is still young, she has crate training and potty training down packed! Keep in mind that she is a little one and may need just a few days to adjust and put all these skills in place in a new home. Birdie is looking for a home with the softest blanket and cushiony hooman arms that she can crawl in and love you forever. Don't miss out on this beautiful little one. Apply today!
