Story
Fozzie was adopted from a local shelter back in February, when he was just 6 months old. In July, Fozzie's Mom knew something was wrong and took Fozzie to her vet. He was diagnosed with epilepsy and was put on medication. The medication has made a world of difference for Fozzie and he's living large and feeling good. But his Mom is having a hard time. To prevent Fozzie from having further seizures, he must get his two medications three times a day. Keeping Fozzie on this schedule has been challenging for his Mom, and she has decided that it's best due to his medical condition that he be rehomed to a person/family who can more easily and more reliably keep him on schedule. Here's what we know about Fozzie: 14 months old 20lbs UTD on vaccinations - good thru February 2024 Neutered Microchipped DNA test revealed the following top five breeds: 39% Chihuahua, 14% dachshund, 11% Min Pin, 8% Poodle, 5% Mini Schnauzer Good with kids, other dogs and dog savvy cats Active boy who enjoys playing fetch and going for walks, tho he is still learning leash manners Knows some basic obedience commands, such as "sit" and "down" Enjoys playing with toys Fozzie is a great companion and loves to cuddle Interested in meeting Fozzie? Story
I am a new arrival to Kimie's Kritters Pet Rescue with my "brother", Sid. I was estimated to be about four years old and as is typical of my breed, I am a rambunctious fellow. I am being housed with other small dogs and do just fine. I have not been tested with larger dogs so, would have to have a meet and greet to determine how I would do with bigger dogs. I appear to have normal curiosity towards cats, so would also need to be cat-tested. I use a doggie door to go outside to take care of business.

Story
I am new to Kimie's Kritters and Kimie says that I am a mellow fellow and am as sweet as can be. My story is that my dad worked LOOOONG hours and his kids failed to feed me. My dad was attempting to surrender me to a shelter, but he didn't have an appointment. My rescuer just so happened to be pulling into the parking lot of the shelter as my dad was contemplating leaving me in the parking lot, so she offered to take me. He was grateful to be able to surrender me to her. Since I've been rescued, I have eaten more than I need to and have recently filled out. When around other dogs, I tend to simply avoid them as I am a submissive guy. So far, I appear to be housetrained (I use a doggie door to go outside). I have been around cats and will bark at them through the windows like I'm a tough guy. When I am in the same room as them, it is a different story and I simply ignore them. Because I was deprived of food, I still tend to guard my food, so will have to be fed separately from other dogs. I do not mind if my foster mom takes food away from me, so it is just with other dogs.

Story
I am new to KKPR, but it is already obvious that I am a sweet gal who loves everyone and am playful. Her mom is in hospice and the family can't keep me. So, I was surrendered to KKPR. I am working on potty-training to go outside only (instead of using potty pads). I am fully vetted and ready for my forever home!

Story
Luna is a sweet, smart, young chihuahua mix. She is about 18 months old and currently 17 lbs. She is looking for a home with a yard, kids over 10 and a playful dog companion or an active person. Luna is affectionate, cuddly, active and playful. She is attentive and responsive to her people. She loves to play fetch with a ball and will return the ball most of the time. She likes to romp around with her dog buddies and play chase. She enjoys playing with dog toys and chewing on her chewy bones. Luna likes the water and is a good swimmer. She has plenty of energy but has an off switch and enjoys relaxing on the couch with her people in the evenings. Luna is crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, is house broken in her foster home and is learning basic commands. She currently lives with quite a few dogs of all sizes and gets along well with them. She likely would not do well with a dominant dog and prefers well balanced, friendly dogs. She currently lives with dog savvy cats and is respectful with them but will challenge shy kitties and chase if they run. Luna can be shy when meeting new people but has shown she will warm up with slow introductions and treats. Luna would do well with an active person and would be a good hiking, walking or running buddy. She likely could be trained on a paddle board as she enjoys the water. She would enjoy a young, playful dog companion to pal around with and keep her company while her humans are away from home. Young children would likely overwhelm her so only respectful, dog savvy children over 10 recommended. She likely would not do well left home alone daily for long hours. She enjoys a yard and is an alert barker so no apartments for her. Luna is a delightful, sweet young pup who is patiently waiting for her forever home. Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

Story
Rico was adopted as a puppy from a small dog rescue in 2014. He is a sweet dog who loves to be pet. He is good with kids. However, we have had to make the heartbreaking decision to rehome him. My toddler has severe allergies. He breaks out in hives at the slightest exposure. We have had to keep him in a separate area of our home and not have contact with us. In addition, he has a liver stint which developed in the past few years (not from birth.) We manage this with medication and a prescription diet. He gets one pill of Denamarin in the morning and one pill of ursidiol in the afternoon. He is house trained but due to being confined to a smaller room, he has had accidents. I also am rehoming my other dog, Izabel. I hope they can be rehomed together but that is not a requirement.
