Story
Lovely is a sweet loving pup I was able to rescue. About 2 yrs ago she was attacked on the same day she was giving birth to her puppies and they were tragically killed. She was much smaller than the dog that attacked her and very close to losing her life as well. My heart was broken by what happened. I brought her home to care and look after. I didn't and still don't have the money to take her to be seen by a professional. Her neck was cut open from being bit and although her wounds have healed she has issues breathing when she runs around, gets scared, or excited. I've taken her to the vet to get her shots which she has but they're asking for too much just to try and see what is causing that problem. She is a calm dog, likes to play, and loves attention. She is a good listener, good around kids and still a very happy pup despite what happened to her. She deserves an owner that will give her the love and care I am unable to. She is about 6-7 yrs old and potty trained.

Story
Arlo was born in May 2023. He has all his shots and updated rabies shot. We just don’t have the time to give him attention which he deserves more of. He’s loving and active and very cute. He can use a good home. He’s great around kids and loves other dogs. He’s crate trained, potty trained and house trained.

Story
BUSTER comes from a semi-hoarding situation where he spent his entire life from birth in a tiny pet carrier along with his siblings. He has come a long way with socialization and would flourish with the right guardian. He would love to be a lap-dog and also enjoys exploring outside. (Also from the same situation: CHEWY) They are very affectionate and would just like a place to call home and a Person to call family. Since these boys have had to "fight" for lap-space and attention, they have a tendency to mark territory which should die down after they are neutered (part of adoption contract). They are used to using potty pads and have learned to also go outside, but they will all still need some work with potty training. Once they are neutered and have a lap of their own that they don't have to "defend", potty training should be a cinch. This crew also would work really well in a FOSTER home that can give them more socialization, potty training, and household manners such as barking. Specifically, we really NEED A FOSTER during the months of JUNE & JULY while I am out of town for a 7-week dog-training seminar. Please hit us up if you have any interest in BUSTER or his crew! ADOPTION FEE: Cost of neuter at clinic of your choice. Valley Canine Specialists Admin@ValleyCanine.org (209)280-0892

Story
Jazzy is a sweetheart that needs some TLC. She is a 1.5-2 year-old, 10 pound, Chihuahua, Pomeranian, Pekingese something mix?? She has a reddish tan coat. She came to us missing more than half of her hair to non-contagious Demodex mange, she is being treated and is recovering, her fur is growing back.. It was easy to treat and she is on her way to feeling better. It will take a several more weeks to see her full coat and we will retake her pictures at that time. Jazzy, Joey, Juliet and Josie were found fending for themselves in the river area of Stockton. Jazzy would love to have a human companion at home with her and another older dog her size to cuddle with as she does love to lay next to her canine family. She is slightly shy but is a sweetie and will need a little more TLC to get used to a new living situation. She gets along well with other dogs. She would be a welcome addition to an adult home or a family with children 12 and over. She will need some leash training. She is working on house training and is doing well. Here at the sanctuary, we use the command "go potty" before we take the dogs outside to do their business: this is excellent routine to establish at home. Jazzy is happy to go outside especially if you go with her. She is scheduled to be spayed but we are looking for her home now. She is currently vaccinated and microchipped. Are you ready for a sweet girl to love? Jazzy is ready to be the pampered pooch she deserves to be! Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link.
