This sassy, fun-loving 8-year-old chihuahua lived in a home, then another home, then was surrendered to the Castaic shelter, where she was scared, struggling, and unfortunately given the “rescue only” tag, which means a rescue had to pull her. Since she has been here with us, she is doing great. She is unbelievably athletic, smart, and quite affectionate. She struggles with other dogs, so we are working with her on that. She is an absolute love and would make a wonderful companion. We do require visits here to our rescue in Agua Dulce (Santa Clarita), CA, and in-person home checks for all adoptions. Story
Sweeney is the sweetest girl. She is 9 years old. She just wants to be around her person and snuggle. Her favorite place is on your pillow, her dog bed, or on top of your couch’s backrest. Sweeney is great on a leash and loves to take walks and go for drives. She gets a little anxious when she is on leash and sees other dogs. She has some trauma due to being attacked when she was a puppy. She has lived with other dogs and cats. She would probably prefer to be an “only dog,” but she doesn’t have to be. After a short time she gets used to other pets and everyone gets along with no issues. She loves kids. She is all up to date with her vaccines. Sweeney has been with me since 2017. Recently I had to relocate and move. I could not take her with me. The person that wanted to keep Sweeney bought a new dog and changed her mind about keeping Sweeney. Sweeney is a great companion with sweetest disposition. She loves being with her person and bounding around like a bunny in the yard.
