This dapper dude is Derek! Derek is a 12 year old Chihuahua beagle mix who came to us as an owner surrender. Unfortunately life got hard and his owner had to take on a second job and felt that she wasn't around enough and wanted him to have what was best for him. Derek is a very easy-going guy who just wants a couch or bed to lay on, a short walk, and some snuggles. He was just seen by the vet, is current on vaccines, had a dental, and is in generally good health. He's got some fatty masses, but don't we all, and an old man waddle. We are working on helping Derek loose some weight but other than that he is ready to find a home to spend the rest of his years in. He is good with other dogs, kids, and house trained (he will use potty pads if available).   Thank you for wanting to adopt from Hank's Legacy Foundation. Sage can be dog selective, and can chase cats, but isn't mean, just bossy. She likes to run the house. Sage can be stubborn and sassy, but she will bring you laughter with her attitude.  Sage is good with kids, but with her big personality, we suggest kids over 10 for her. sage loves adventures and walks, so someone who will be active with her and take her out would be ideal. Pomi was rescued from a kill shelter. Many of these dogs at the shelter have barely survived the hardships of street life, car accidents, or abuse, only to end up in shelters. But once they enter the shelter system, they often disappear completely from society’s view, living lives no different from death itself. WEACT's Pomi was found in the Hongseong County Shelter with a completely shattered pelvis. Examinations showed that the injury had occurred long ago and had been left untreated. But what broke our hearts the most was that, even with her body so damaged, she was still cradling her young puppies in her arms. Pomi, a strong mother who tried to protect her babies even in despair deeper than death. WEACT performed an emergency surgery to realign her broken bones and perform a bone graft, and Fomi is now steadily recovering.
