Story
💫 ZIP 💫 Zip is a 6-8 year old, 12 pound female spayed Chihuahua-Papillon Mix (best guess) that was found as a stray by a kind Samaritan after being abandoned by her previous owner, who had tried to surrender her to a private shelter but didn’t make an appointment (as required). Unfortunately, rather than follow through or go to the public county shelter, the owner left her behind. Thankfully, the Good Samaritans husband was able to scoop her up with a blanket & they took her to the vet to have her checked out. The vet discovered that Zip had some benign masses on her paw pads and a luxating patella. Otherwise, she was in good health — just scared and unsure of the world around her. She’s spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines, and on heartworm prevention. Zip will need a patient home that understands scared & insecure dogs. One that will help her shine & be a braver version of herself. She is already shining in the care of her foster parents – she ADORES her Foster Dad (it took her about 5-6 days to get to this but she had also been thru a mess of a storm those first few days with being dumped, shots & learning a new place) & is starting to warm up to Foster Mom (despite mom being the one who feeds her, takes her out, and first spotted her — silly girl!). Once she connects with you, she is a very affectionate girl & when you're sitting on the couch, she'll want to be right next to you. Zip loves being outdoors so a secured, fenced in yard would be her most ideal home. She also loves car rides & is also food motivated with a good, hearty appetite. She is currently recovering from having the masses removed from her paw (benign) as well as the MPL surgery so she will need to stay secured on a leash for walks around the house & in the yard during this recovery time as well as no jumping up or off of couches or beds. Dr’s orders. Due to her skittish behavior when first meeting new people, an adult home only is recommended (although I am optimistically hopeful that with some socialization & proper introductions, she will be ok with older, dog savvy kids coming over for visits as she just needs her space). Zip has not had one accident & absolute loves her Foster Fursibling (dog). We’re unsure about cats. Interested in learning more about Zip & would like to be her person? Fill out an application & let’s get the ball rolling. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/PPFL-A-4044 📍 Due to Zip’s surgery & recovery appointments, our adoption radius has been reduced to 150 miles from Jacksonville, FL (please be sure you are able to make this commute or have a strong relationship with your vet to take over her post-op care). All other pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations and heartworm prevention.

Story
Trooper is a red and white Chihuahua mix, he's 12 lbs and 12 years old. He's neutered and up to date on his vaccines and monthly preventatives. Trooper is receiving treatment for heartworms, his adopters receive his meds to continue his treatment. Trooper is fostered in Jacksonville, FL. Read his full profile and submit an adoption application: https://www.fawnssmalldogrescue.org/adoptable-dogs/trooper Trooper is as resilient as his name suggests! This sweet senior, likely dumped, found himself in a strange neighborhood. After completing a stray hold he was transferred to Fawn's. Medically Trooper is doing well for a senior dog, he has a hernia and mild vision limitation. The vet said that the hernia isn't causing pain or affecting his quality of life. His vision limitation is a bit odd, he sees better in dim light. This means he can get startled more easily when it's bright. His foster is going to have him try some doggles, dog goggle sunglasses, to see if that helps him. Trooper loves burrowing in blankets, cozying up with people, and most of all pets and scratches. He hasn't been tested with small children or cats, he's done well with his foster family's teen. He'd do best in a home with adults or dog-savvy teens as he can get startled by unexpected noises and movement. Cuddling and snuggling enthusiasts please apply! Trooper is doing well with house and potty training. He's most successful when he gets to go out on a fairly regular schedule. He's happy to do his business on a leash or in a yard. Trooper has done well with his big dog foster siblings, you can see a picture of all of them in his profile. He isn't interested in playing with them and will occasionally resource guard food from them. He'd be fine with doggie siblings, he'd adore the opportunity to be an only child. Trooper's ideal home has adopters who are home frequently for snuggles and to help continue his house and potty training success. He can live with adults and would do fine with respectful teens. Trooper hasn't met any cats. He's rated for dogs big and small, he'd definitely enjoy being an only child. He's yard optional since he's happy to go potty on a leash.

Story
Uso is a 1-1/2 year old ChiPom dog, adopted from a litter of puppies found without their mother. We have raised Uso since he was about 3-1/2 months old and have spoiled him rotten! He became very attached to me, his mom, but struggles around my husband. He is very protective and doesn't like to share me with others. Uso has tons of energy, would do best with a young owner, other dogs. Or just someone who wants to have him as an only dogs to spoil. He is very smart, responds to simple commands, crate trained. His favorite place is to snuggle in bed and watch TV with you!

Meet Roxy A Tender Soul Looking for Safety & Love 🐾💗 Sweet Roxy has been through more than most pups ever should… Her world was turned upside down when her beloved owner was tragically shot and could no longer care for her 💔. Confused, heartbroken, and unsure who to trust, Roxy came to us with sadness in her eyes and a deep longing for comfort. But underneath it all, she just wants what we all do — to feel safe and loved again 🏡🕊️. Roxy is: ✅ Spayed, crate trained, and up to date on all vaccines 💉 🐶 Good with small dogs her size (with slow intros!) — but big dogs and children make her feel unsafe 🛋️ The ultimate cuddle buddy — she’ll snuggle up and stay by your side all day 👣 Super loyal and very needy — she thrives when she’s close to her person 🌙 Best suited for a quiet, calm home without kids, where she can feel secure and cherished If you’ve got a peaceful home and room in your heart, Roxy will give you her whole world. She’s the kind of companion who will follow you from room to room, curl up beside you on the couch, and remind you every day what unconditional love really looks like 💞🐾. She may be small, but her heart is HUGE — and it’s waiting for someone special to come along and remind her that she’s finally safe. Could that someone be you? #AdoptRoxy #TenderHeart #FromTragedyToTrust #LoyalToTheCore #SnuggleBuddy #AdoptDontShop #RoxyNeedsYou
