Story
Meet Diesel 🐾 Diesel is a 7-year-old, 11.5-lb Chihuahua with a gentle, sweet soul. He’s timid at first, but once he feels safe, he turns into a happy little guy who jumps for joy and loves being close to his people. Diesel is calm, laid back, and low maintenance — he enjoys walks, naps, good food (especially chicken), and just being part of the action. He gets along well with other dogs, is cat-friendly, potty trained, and walks great on a leash. Diesel would do best in a quiet home with gentle handling and older kids or adults, as rough touch can scare him. Though he may be shy at first, patience and kindness help him blossom into a loving, loyal companion. Diesel is ready for a calm, loving home where he can finally feel safe and cherished. Story
We are heartbroken to be seeking a very specific home for our beloved dog as a last effort to keep him safe. He is about 5 years old, 35 pounds, and DNA tested as roughly 1/3 Chihuahua with a mix of other breeds. He must be the only dog in the home and cannot live with small children. He has significant dog aggression, reactivity, and resource guarding, and needs an experienced owner committed to careful management. He has never shown aggression toward humans. In the right home, he is incredibly sweet—housetrained, crate trained (he loves his crate), affectionate, and happiest playing fetch or lounging on the couch. Despite medication, training, supervision, and separation from our other dogs, we cannot reliably prevent incidents and must consider humane euthanasia. We truly believe he could thrive as an only dog. He has lived with cats before, but only with experienced supervision. We love him deeply and are not making this decision lightly.
