Story
Peanut has a big dog personality and if he sees other dogs, he gets super excited, and the yipping sounds scary, but he just wants to play!! He's a nipper and he likes to jump on you out of excitement and although he LOVES kids, he should be in.a home with older kids Peanut is still young, and has plenty of energy to play and run.He has been known to be a runner- He will take off and think, it's a GAME and it will be hard to catch him, so careful at the doors nd fences ;) But smart sweet pup loves kisses and lay on your lap . He walks good on a leash i put 2 one on harness and collar since I don't want him to get loose. (harnesses are too easy to get out of, so a martingale collar is his best collar) He can upset a bigger or smaller dog if they don't have a tolerance for nippiness. In the face kinda of thing he loved to play and he runs super fast lol 😆 they would have to be extra careful that he never gets out of front.Door or takes off he laughing fast 😅 Poor little guy almost got run over on these big streets all alone, and we NEVER want that to happen to him again. So now you know more about the firecracker named Peanut. He is a doll!! ADOPT....DON'T SHOP!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes tranport to your area)

Story
Judah is just a young guy, born in January 2025.  He's been through a lot in his short life and needs someone with patience to help him learn to trust again.  He recently had surgery for a broken jaw and has been in recovery at his foster home. We don't know a lot about him yet, but we'll share updates and more information about Judah as we learn more about him! HE WILL ONLY BE ADOPTED OUT AFTER HE IS RELEASED FROM MEDICAL HOLD The suggested adoption donation for Judah is $525, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  [Muddy Paws can also suggest a vet with a reduced cost for alters.]  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2701752##

Story
Lotus 🌸 Named after the flower that rises and blooms beautifully despite the mud, Lotus is a quiet testament to resilience. Pulled from a rural shelter, she didn’t know at first that people could be kind. When she arrived at her foster home, she was unsure and fearful—but with patience, gentle care, and time, Lotus has started to trust and show her true self. Like her name, she is slowly but surely blooming. Lotus is good with other dogs, crate trained, and pee pad trained. She finds comfort in the presence of canine companions and would do well in a home that understands she may need a little extra time to feel safe. At this time, Lotus is not a cuddler, but as she continues to build trust, she may grow into enjoying that closeness. She is also not an apartment-type dog. Lotus will need a home where she can move at her own pace and feel secure before being introduced to things like walks and busier environments. Lotus is looking for a patient and understanding family—one willing to let her open up on her own timeline, just as her foster mom has done. With love and consistency, she will continue to grow into something truly beautiful. Local Only adoption fee is $200(in TX)

Story
***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimmalshelter.org*** Our chubby little friend here is Bella.  Her mom went to a nursing home so Miss Bella came into our foster care.  She had a bit of a rough start at first since everything was new but she has caught on.  Bella is now on a diet and we can see a little bit of a waist line coming through. We have to admit this little chihuahua looked more like a medicine ball than a dog but she is sweet and would make someone a lovely companion.  We think her mom was probably declining in health and maybe didn't get Bella outside as often as she would have preferred so the foster home she is staying in has been working on potty training her. Bella just had a much needed dental and lost a few more teeth but she should be good to go for awhile now. She is a gentle girl that is good in the car, likes to go for walks (and needs them!) and is a super snuggler.  If you are looking for a chubby little chihuahua she might be just right for you!  Bella is 9 years old, spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $200.00     April 25, 2026, 10:06 pm
