Story
Herman is our  “Small Dog with Big Loyalty”    Hi, I’m Herman — a 5-year-old chocolate and tan Chihuahua weighing in at a perfect 10 pounds. I’m a gentle, well-behaved little guy who’s ready to find a loving, dependable home just in time for the holidays. My life took an unexpected turn when my former owner and his partner split up, and suddenly there was no place for me anymore. Through no fault of my own, I found myself without a home — but not without hope. A kind coworker made sure I stayed safe and out of the shelter, and soon after, Critter Cavalry Rescue welcomed me in and promised to help me find the forever family I deserve. I’m an easy companion to love. I’m housebroken, calm, snuggly, and respectful of my space and yours. I don’t chew things up, and I truly just want to be near my person — whether that’s curled up on the couch or keeping you company during quiet moments. I’m healthy, recently neutered, and ready to start my next chapter with someone who understands that loyalty like mine is for life. I may be small, but my heart is huge, and I promise to love you fully and faithfully. If you’re looking for a sweet, steady companion to welcome into your home and heart for 2026 and beyond, I could be your perfect match. Please reach out to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to learn more about adopting me.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 24, 2025, 12:11 pm

Story
Are you looking for a small dog that is small, fun, bold, and full of personality? If you’re searching for a dog who can fill your home with laughter, life, and non-stop joy, let us introduce you to Hercules. This 11 month old 18 pound Apple Head chihuahua is small in size but legendary in spirit. He arrives in every room like a burst of sunshine–ears perked, tail wagging, and a grin that makes it impossible not to smile back. Hercules has the kind of personality that changes the energy of a home. He’s curious, social, and always ready for adventure. Whether he’s sniffing new friends, checking out what’s happening around the corner, or trotting proudly beside dogs 10 times his size, he’s confident and fearless without ever being rude. He truly believes the world is full of potential best friends. With all that zest for life, Hercules needs a home that matches his pace — someone who’s active, engaged, and excited to enjoy a dog with real spark. He is not a couch-only retirement-style companion; he’s the type of dog who would happily train with you, hike with you, or keep you laughing all day with his big personality and expressive little face. And when the day winds down, he’s perfectly happy to snuggle in and recharge for tomorrow’s fun.    If you’re ready for a joyful, energetic, loyal little sidekick who will adore you with his whole heart, Hercules can’t wait to meet you. Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to make him your boy.         PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 23, 2025, 12:34 am

Story
Bear is an 18-month-old Chihuahua/scruffy terrier mix weighing just 9 pounds, but don’t let his size fool you — this little guy has a huge personality and an endless supply of joy. Playful, confident, and endlessly entertaining, Bear is a natural goofball who lives to make people laugh and dogs his best friends. Recently, Bear became a proud dog dad to six beautiful puppies born around October 10th. He came from a home that was overwhelmed with dogs and puppies, where the family simply didn’t have the resources to spay or neuter the adults. Despite the chaos of his early life, Bear has emerged happy, resilient, and full of love. One thing is very clear — Bear thrives when he has canine companionship. Having grown up surrounded by other dogs, he truly needs at least one young, active dog in his forever home to feel secure and content. He also benefits from humans who enjoy long, brisk walks, playtime, and interactive fun. Squeaky toys and rope toys are his absolute favorites. Bear is still learning the basics of pet life, but he’s making wonderful progress. He sleeps through the night in his crate and chooses it as his safe space during the day. He’s new to leash walking but is catching on quickly with daily practice, and his house-training is coming along nicely. Having just been neutered, Bear wears a belly band indoors while he learns not to mark — and he handles it like a champ. Bear is fantastic with other dogs and does well with cats, too. With his adorable wiry coat, bright eyes, and sharp mind, he’s eager to learn and will quickly pick up any manners or training his new family wants to teach. Despite a rough start, Bear’s happiness was never dimmed — in fact, it shines brighter each day in his calm, loving foster home. If you’re looking for a joyful little companion who will bring laughter, energy, and love into your life, Bear is ready to start fresh and be your loyal sidekick.   Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you’re interested in adopting Bear.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 14, 2025, 1:48 pm

Story
Meet Tank — the blanket-burrowing comedian with a heart as big as his personality. When Tank’s loving owner passed away, his little world turned upside down. But even through the confusion and heartbreak, this resilient 6-year-old Chihuahua never lost his spark. A kind foster stepped in to keep him safe, and now Tank is ready to start the next chapter of his life — one filled with comfort, stability, and plenty of snuggles. Tank is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He recently met a cat and stayed calm and polite, proving he’s just a little gentleman in a tiny package. He may try to talk you out of going in his crate but once he’s inside, he settles easily. Still, his true happy place is under a pile of blankets — burrowed into your lap, tucked behind your knees, or occasionally perched on your pillow like a tiny, furry crown. He’s affectionate, silly, and full of personality, but never in a way that overwhelms.  Tank dreams of a quiet home where he can be the center of cozy evenings and soft routines. He’d love a calm household with other friendly small dogs and no children, and most importantly, a human who appreciates a good snuggle and a warm blanket.   If you’re looking for a tender-hearted companion who will love you with every ounce of his tiny body, Tank is ready to make you his whole world.   Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue if you are interested at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.
