Story
Mr. Bob may be small in stature, but he carries the heart and wisdom of an old soul. This 5-year-old Chihuahua began life in a crowded backyard breeding situation, one of 17 little dogs trying to make sense of a world that didn’t offer much comfort. When he was finally relinquished and welcomed into rescue, everything changed — though for Mr. Bob, change takes time. At 19 pounds, this sturdy little gentleman is working toward a healthier lifestyle with proper diet and gentle exercise. But while his body is solid, his heart is tender and still learning to trust this brand-new chapter. Mr. Bob is shy, soft-eyed, and deeply observant. He’s the kind of dog who quietly studies his surroundings, trying to understand how he got so lucky to land in a calm, loving foster home. He’s discovering that kind hands, cozy beds, and soft voices are not temporary — they’re his new normal.  He has proven to be gentle and patient with children and small dogs, though he does appreciate having his own peaceful corner to nap undisturbed. After years of living among too many dogs in a chaotic space, personal room to relax is something he treasures. He absolutely loves to cuddle and prefers to sleep close to his human at night. Fully crate trained, he sleeps soundly without a peep.  The leash is still a mystery to him and a bit frightening. He prefers quick potty breaks and then hustling back inside where he feels safe. We suspect he never had much outdoor experience before. With patience and reassurance, he will continue building confidence at his own pace. Mr. Bob has become the most well rounded and easy going perfect boy ever.  He is happy and great on a leash and loves to go to Home Depot for little visits and some social encounters. More than anything, he longs for a steady, devoted person who will be his life coach.  He doesn’t need chaos but he is in a household that is busy and fun and yet steady. He just needs someone who sees the quiet beauty in a shy little soul learning how to trust.  If you feel called to give Mr. Bob the safe, gentle future he deserves, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 19, 2026, 5:05 pm

Story
Meet Tubby — a tender little soul learning that life can be kind.  At just 4 years old and a tiny 9 pounds, this handsome light tan Chihuahua boy has already come such a long way. Tubby’s story didn’t begin with soft beds and loving arms—it began in a backyard breeding situation in a small Tennessee town, where he and 16 other Chihuahuas had never even experienced the outside world. On Valentine’s Day, two rescues, including Critter Cavalry, stepped in to change his life forever. And what a beautiful transformation it’s been. Over the past six weeks in foster care, Tubby has been quietly, bravely discovering what it means to live. Every day, he grows a little more confident, a little more curious, and a little more trusting. His foster mom says it’s been incredibly special to watch him bloom at his own gentle pace. Tubby has overcome more than just fear—he’s also had extensive dental care to relieve him of painful, damaged teeth, and now he’s feeling so much better and finally able to enjoy life comfortably. He is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped—ready for his fresh start. This sweet boy has been working hard behind the scenes, too. He’s learned that his crate is a safe, cozy space just for him, and he’s beginning to understand harnesses, leashes, and the big, exciting world outside. While he’s still gaining confidence, his progress has been nothing short of inspiring. You can see how much he wants to be brave.  At home, Tubby’s true personality begins to shine. His absolute favorite place? Right next to you on the couch. Once he feels safe, he melts into the moment—quietly affectionate, deeply loyal, and oh-so-loving. Those peaceful snuggle sessions are where Tubby’s heart really opens up.  Because he forms such strong bonds, Tubby would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time to offer reassurance and companionship. He’s still learning that the world is safe, and he’ll need a patient, kindhearted person who understands that love—and trust—take time. But make no mistake: Tubby is worth it. The person who welcomes him home won’t just be adopting a dog—they’ll be witnessing a beautiful transformation. And in return, Tubby will give a lifetime of quiet devotion, gentle companionship, and unconditional love.   Ready to give Tubby the life he’s always deserved?Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to learn more or apply to adopt.Tubby is ready to travel and can easily catch a ride on the transport van any weekend—straight into the arms of his forever family.

Story
All hail King Solomon of the Snuggle Clan! At just 12 weeks old and already weighing in at 10 pounds, this Chihuahua mix may be small, but his personality is anything but small.  His ultimate weight should be 20-24 pounds of sleek good looks and agile moves.  Solomon is the perfect blend of cuddle bug and playful little rascal. One minute he’s curled up on the couch soaking in all the love, and the next he’s proudly marching around the yard with a stick twice his size, like he just conquered his kingdom. He loves romping with his puppy friends, chasing kids through the yard, playing with his toys, and following his humans everywhere—your loyal little shadow has officially arrived. Like any young pup, Solomon is still learning the ropes. He’s working on leash walking with a harness, potty training, crate training, and understanding personal space—especially with his senior Blue Heeler foster sisters who are helping show him the way. The good news is he’s already picking up on things quickly. He comes when called, understands that “no” means no, scratches at the door when he needs to go outside, and does well with cats. He’s a smart little guy who just needs consistency to keep shining. Solomon also has a brave-but-sensitive side. Around new male dogs, he can get a little unsure and may try to act tough before retreating to his safe place right between your legs. With patience and reassurance, he’s learning that he doesn’t have to be afraid. He’s also made great progress with early food guarding, showing just how much he can grow when he feels secure. This little king is ready to find his forever person—someone to love him, guide him, and give him the safe, happy life he deserves. In return, you’ll gain a best friend who will rule your heart in the sweetest way possible. Story
Elvis is the kind of puppy who steals hearts without even trying. This little Chihuahua mix boy, born around the end of January, came from humble beginnings after being dropped at a small shelter in New Mexico, but you’d never know it by the way he carries himself. With his expressive, slightly quirky face and those soft, trusting eyes, Elvis has a presence that pulls people in instantly. He’s confident, affectionate, and full of life—equally happy being the center of attention or curled up in your lap soaking in every bit of love. It didn’t take long for his foster mom to fall hard for him, and he’s already gotten used to the good life, complete with cozy snuggles and the occasional night sleeping right by her side.   Elvis thrives wherever people are. He’s been a natural at puppy yoga, happily making his rounds to greet everyone, and he charmed his way through a puppy birthday party like he was born for the spotlight. He approaches the world with joy and curiosity, always ready for the next adventure or the next cuddle session. He’s already showing great habits, using a potty pad by the door and even making it through the night without accidents when he’s tucked in with his person. Expected to stay around 15 pounds, he’s the perfect compact companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Elvis is the kind of dog who will quickly become the center of your world—and he’ll expect to be treated like it. If you’re ready for a devoted little shadow who brings both fun and affection in equal measure, don’t wait too long… he’s going to be hard to resist. Reach out to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to make him yours before someone else claims this tiny king.

Story
Meet Bashful Bam Bam — a tiny treasure with a huge heart. This handsome purebred Chihuahua is just 1 year old and weighs a petite 12 pounds, making him the perfect little lap companion. With his beautiful white coat, warm brown markings, and soulful, expressive eyes, Bam Bam has a way of melting hearts the moment you meet him. Bam Bam may be a little shy when first introduced to new people, but give him a little patience and kindness, and you’ll quickly discover a deeply loving and devoted companion. Despite a difficult beginning in life — having been left outside in freezing weather by people who failed him — Bam Bam has never lost his gentle spirit or his ability to trust and love. Thanks to the care and affection of his foster mom, he’s learning what it truly means to be safe, cherished, and part of a family. This sweet little guy absolutely adores his people. One of his favorite moments each day is greeting his foster mom when she comes home from work, tail wagging and ready to shower her with unconditional love. After a long day, Bam Bam has a special way of making stress disappear with cuddles, companionship, and his calm, comforting presence. Bam Bam enjoys all the simple pleasures in life — curling up in your lap, going for walks, riding in the car, and spending quality time with his humans. He’s doing wonderfully with the doggie door at his foster home and also reliably uses puppy pads. He gets along well with other dogs and is friendly and respectful with the resident cats, making him an easy addition to a loving home. This little survivor is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, and in excellent health. Bam Bam is now ready for the forever home he truly deserves — one filled with warmth, patience, love, and plenty of lap time. In return, he’ll give you endless loyalty, affection, and a bond that only a rescued dog can offer.   Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 19, 2026, 5:05 pm
