My wife and I adopted Ivory from the shelter in early 2020. We wanted another dog and thought she'd be a good buddy for our other dog. She was very timid and nervous at first but slowly got comfortable with her new home. The first episode of her snapping was when my wife went to bathe her. My wife picked her up and she attacked her biting her right hand leaving it bruised and bloody. Since that incident see regressed back to being very timid, anxious, and on the defensive with almost any action someone may do even if not directed to her. I've tried my hardest to be patient with her and I'm made some progress with her and her anxiety over the years but she's still snapped on me and my wife multiple times. Luckily she hasnt drawn blood from biting us in a long time but she still has her episodes. I know she can be a sweet and good dog but due to the changes in our lives over the last 3 years with moving and new roommates I don't think her home environment is the best for her anymore.

He has had his teeth cleaned, along with the rest of his vet care, and is now ready to find a loving, quiet home who will cherish this gentle boy. I was abandoned on the streets and spent several months in a veterinary office waiting for my family to claim me, which they never did. As a result of spending so long in a kennel, I am sometimes a bit feisty! However, I love other dogs and want to play... and play... and play. I don't have great play manners, though. Remember- I spent several months in a kennel so no one taught me the ropes. A well mannered adult dog would be a great fit to teach me appropriate doggie behaviors. I would be great with one other calm dog or as an only dog. I am good with older kids. No kids under 12 years old please.I want to play with kitties, so I do tend to chase and annoy them, but I never try to hurt them. Like all chi chis, I am a little barky. What can I tell you... Sassi is the best snuggler. She wants to be with her person at all times and will follow you anywhere. She loves to sleep snuggled up to you on the couch or bed. She will eat anything she finds on the floor so you must be careful not to leave anything out. She loves to play and has the zoomies outside with her foster siblings. Sunbathing outside is one of her favorite activities. Sassi would do great in a home with other small dogs but she does resource guard with food so feeding separately is best. She is still working on potty training but does well with puppy pads inside.
