Milo was born around Dec 27, 2022 and should top out in the 25 pound range. He came to Joyful courtesy of two Flight Angels that were vacationing in Puerto Rico and wanted to save a dog while they were there. His Mom was a stray in Puerto Rico that was lucky to be rescued and have care for her and her puppies. Milo is a chihuahua mix, mixed with what you ask? Probably a Sato, or another small stray/'street' dog. He is on the shy side but comes around when you have yummy treats. He just needs some TLC so he knows that humans are safe for him. He is already getting more comfortable after just 2 days in a foster home. We can’t wait to see him blossom. We like to mention with the smaller dogs that, sometimes, they are more difficult to house train and potty floor pads make things easier. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $__600.00______. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. DIZZY was born around March 16, 2023 in Puerto Rico. One of our rescue partners from All Sato was driving in San Juan when she saw a man, holding a puppy with 1 arm raised above his head, waving the puppy around and yelling at passing cars that the puppy was for sale. She stopped her car immediately and offered the man $10, which he happily accepted. So initially his name was Diez, which is 10 is Spanish, but we call him Dizzy. He was rescued and taken to the vet for vaccines and spent the next several weeks recovering from that rough start in life. A very generous Flight Angel was traveling back to see family in Western NY and offered him a ride to Joyful Rescues so we can find Dizzy a loving home. He loves his people and will follow you everywhere. He’s a bit shy in getting used to his new surroundings, but we see that he likes to play and is good with other dogs. Right now as a small pup he is letting his other puppy playmates lead the way. He is working on house training, even though he’s just been here a short time - he is learning so quickly. You should be ready to finish the housetraining with Dizzy. He loves hugs and is learning to walk on a leash. He’s a good traveler - both in the plane and the car. At 9 weeks old, he weighs about 8 pounds. We are guessing on his breed, as we know nothing about his parents. All we know is that he will have a better life up here, than he ever would have had with the person that he was with when he was rescued. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $___600.00_____. Ty was born in Puerto Rico on Feb 24, 2023. He was part of a litter of 5, 2 were adopted in PR, and the other 3 came to Buffalo via generous Flight Angels that brought them.  Ty is in the 7-8 pound range now, at 12 weeks old.  The expected adult weight is maybe 20 pounds.  Their Mom weighed 13 pounds, and the Dad was never seen, so that is a mystery!   They travel and sleep well in their kennels and are very playful - it was hard for us to get an in-focus picture because they are always moving! The pups were born on the grounds of a private school in Caguas, PR.  Rescuers saw the pregnant mom and named her Candy.  They would go and feed her on a daily basis.  She started to leave the puppies on their own, sometimes for more than a day.  That’s when the rescuers came in and started to take the pups.  At first, they could only find 2 of the 5. On April 7th, Ty and Cala were seen running around, very close to the street. A rescue was attempted, but the puppies hid in a wood pile but were rescued later that day.  They are very playful pups, toy destroyers, and little explorers. Cala loves to be picked up, and Ty does too, but he gets concerned about what he is missing at ground level.  Very affectionate pups that eat like nobody’s business !! Betty Flintstone was guessed to be born around October 21, 2022 and weighs about 10 pounds. Betty was found by a local dog control officer and when no one came looking for her JR agreed to take her in. In typical chia fashion, Betty is cautious of humans at first but warms very quickly. Once Betty has established a relationship with you she is incredibly sweet and cuddly.  Betty has been wonderful with the other dogs here and rode well on the hour-long trip to JR.  This is all we know so far and we will be learning as we go!  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $550.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. Precious CeCe.... this senior gal is just the sweetest. She is not 100% housebroken, but is getting better (it has been freezing outside in her defense). There is nothing more she likes better than hunkering down in some nice fuzzy blankets. She's happy curled up on your lap or beside you if you are just chillin and watching a movie. She does LOVE her food (canned) and she'll try to steal the other dog's food too if she finishes before they do. She has not been crated, so unsure how she would do (it would probably break her heart). She does sleep with her foster mom, snuggled up under the covers of course. She is good with other dogs, cats are unknown although we don't foresee an issue, and would do ok with respectful children (12 and up).
