Gus came to rescue after being severely attacked by a large dog while on a walk with his owner. His owner chose to surrender him so he could receive emergency care and did not seek to get him back Gus is such a sweet boy despite his trauma. He is happy and loving. In foster with other small dogs. He is crate trained and House trained Hes a very small guy under 10 lbs. Gus does not do well with children. Frankie-the true definition of a chihuahua. Lets get the obvious out of the way-he takes a bit to like men, will tolerate them once he realizes they are not leaving but he makes it clear hed rather have women. Tolerates cats and other dogs-prefers they just leave him alone, stick to your side of the couch and Ill stick to mine motto. Has issues with food insecurity and sharing-because in a chihuahua world it should all belong to them but being tiny you have to act big to defend what is yours by right. Loves sitting we his person, one person, the chosen one, the one privileged to have his heart and soul. He is potty trained but would rather poop inside if not nice outside-I mean come on, we dont expect the all might chihuahua to go out in the rain now do we. Meet Storm and Thunder - 6 month old brothers who currently weigh about 15 pounds. They are super sweet and have outgoing personalities. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Please be sure to click on Fez's photos to read all about him prior to applying.Fez may be a wee fellow, but don't tell him that. He embodies all that "Chihuahua" entails- larger than life personality (with lots of opinions), and a dedicated and close companion to those in his circle. Please don't get any ideas about dressing this fellow up and carting him around in cute handbags, he likes to use his own four legs to travel- and clothing is (at best) considered "excessive" in his opinion. Fez gets along with dogs and cats, he would do best in a home with another small or toy breed female. He appreciates animals (including humans) that are considerate and patient. He does tend to gravitate to small dogs, and has an affinity specifically to small and toy breed females (once he gets to know them). He tends to ignore cats, but would do best with a dog savvy cat. Fez can be nervous in new circumstances and may be a flight risk in a new home, due to this and his wish to be independent at times- a secure fenced in yard (physical fencing appropriate for a toy breed) is a must. He is well behaved in the home and is not destructive, and he is crate trained and potty trained. Fez requires a home without children, he has come a long way with trusting humans and handling- but he has been very clear about the requirement for a child free home.
