Story
Prince (The Tiny Boss) Breed: Chihuahua Age: ~3.5 years old Personality: Feisty, funny, and very active. He is the "man of the house" and keeps Duke the Pit Bull in line. History: I bought him as a tiny puppy from a parking lot situation to give him a better life. I am writing to you with a very heavy heart. Due to my declining health and a necessary change in my living arrangements, I am forced to find a new home for my two beloved dogs, Duke and Prince. I am praying for a miracle to keep them together. They are an inseparable odd couple. A gentle Pit Bull and a tiny Chihuahua who relies on him. They have been my babies, and this is the hardest decision I have ever had to make.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please be sure to click on Fez's photos to read all about him prior to applying.Fez may be a wee fellow, but don't tell him that.  He embodies all that "Chihuahua" entails- larger than life personality (with lots of opinions), and a dedicated and close companion to those in his circle.  Please don't get any ideas about dressing this fellow up and carting him around in cute handbags, he likes to use his own four legs to travel- and clothing is (at best) considered "excessive" in his opinion.  Fez gets along with dogs and cats, he would do best in a home with another small or toy breed female.  He appreciates animals (including humans) that are considerate and patient.  He does tend to gravitate to small dogs, and has an affinity specifically to small and toy breed females (once he gets to know them).  He tends to ignore cats, but would do best with a dog savvy cat.   Fez can be nervous in new circumstances and may be a flight risk in a new home, due to this and his wish to be independent at times- a secure fenced in yard (physical fencing appropriate for a toy breed) is a must.  He is well behaved in the home and is not destructive, and he is crate trained and potty trained.  Fez requires a home without children, he has come a long way with trusting humans and handling- but he has been very clear about the requirement for a child free home.  If you are an experienced dog owner with an affinity for Chi's, this fellow may be perfect for you!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 21, 2025, 1:45 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sandy is one spunky and loving gal!Sandy is one spunky gal! She loves to play, play, play. She chases after her toys and does all the zoomies. Like a toddler, she will lean against your leg and ask to be picked up so she can survey the world at your height. Sandy's also very sweet and she loves people. She always wants to have her little head on you when she takes a nap. She likes to snuggle and she steals the hearts of everyone she meets. Sandy is fearless and she loves to explore. She gets along with any dog and does not hold a grudge when they bark at her. She's been living with her cat sister in her foster home. Though she likes to check up and see what the cat is up to, Sandy is more interested in hanging with her humans.  Like any Chihuahua, she also loves to be heard! She's done things her way for her young life so she will need to learn some manners to adapt to a family home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 10, 2025, 7:19 am

Story
Meet RONDA – A Tiny Diamond in the Rough Looking for Her Person Ronda came to rescue as a feral puppy, and her journey since then has been nothing short of remarkable. She has made tremendous progress and shows us every day that she wants to trust—she’s just not quite there yet. Ronda is sweet, gentle, and quietly hopeful, but she will need an adopter who understands that trust is something earned over time, not rushed. 10 pound Ronda is shy with people, especially at first, but her heart is absolutely in the right place. She watches, listens, and “talks” to you in her own way, letting you know she’s trying. She understands the command “come” and will come close—just not all the way yet. With patience and consistency, she continues to make progress. She is: • Sweet and petite • Shy with people, but clearly wants to trust • Great with other dogs (they give her confidence!) • Housebroken • Crate trained (she will go in on command with a little encouragement—and if she doesn’t see you, she goes right in) • Vocal in a gentle, endearing way Ronda would do best in a calm, predictable home—ideally with another confident dog—and with someone who understands shy or fearful dogs and is willing to continue the work her foster has started. She needs a true rescuer: someone who will celebrate the small wins, respect her boundaries, and allow her to move at her own pace. In return, that person will get something incredibly special. Given time, Ronda will be a loyal, loving companion—and the bond you earn with her will be deeper because of the journey it took to get there. If you believe in second chances and have the patience to help a deserving dog fully bloom, Ronda just might be your girl. NOTE: Ronda’s spay will be covered by the rescue at our vet in Sanford when she is old enough. Her adoption fee may be negotiable for the right adopter.

She came to us from a hoarding operation where over 130 dogs were rescued. She is learning how to be a dog again but doing great! She loves other dogs and would do best in a home with a doggy friend. Chiquita is very smart and inquisitive. She likes to be in small enclosed areas such as a crate or covered area. She knows to go potty outside. Chiquita can be quite an escape artist so she will need a secure home. This girl is completely up to date with no known medical issues.
