Diesel is a social boy who would like to be a lap dog. He has lived indoors and goes to the door when he needs to go outside. Diesel is crate trained and has been permitted on the furniture. Though he has lived with people of all ages he can be too much for small children. His favorite toy is a hard chew toy. He is said to chase cats and chickens.

Please read ALL of this listing prior to emailing with questions or inquiries. If you are interested in Coco and feel that you would be a good match for her, you MUST FIRST fill out and submit this application at: https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ (copy and paste). After we receive your application and review it, we will contact you. Thank you! Coco is a tiny 6-lb., 2-year-old Chihuahua mix who is in search of her forever home. She is a timid little girl, but is very loving and affectionate when she feels comfortable in her new environment. We are looking for a new guardian for her who will take her out for walks and new adventures so she can be well socialized... not just a home where she will be home all day long. Being such a small dog, it should be easy taking Coco along on most outings. Coco gets along with the other small dogs in her foster home, but she barks at the big dog. We feel that she will do well in either a single-dog home or with another small dog. Coco's a little 'Velcro dog' and wants to be right next to her person or in their lap... and she loves giving kisses! Coco is housetrained and crate trained, but since she is such a small dog, she has to be let out often. A home with a fenced yard and someone at home during the day will be best for her. We feel it would not be advantageous for her to be in a crate while her family is at work during the day. In her foster home she sleeps in a crate, but we are sure that she would love to snuggle next to her new guardian in their 'big bed'. Coco is a very healthy little girl and is current on her Dist/Parvo and Rabies vaccinations. We also had her spayed, microchipped, and tested for Heartworms. She is on Heartguard for Heartworm prevention. Coco's adoption fee is $400.00 Coco is a loving, sweet, and smart little girl who deserves only the best home and family! If you feel that you would like to add Coco to your family, please submit an application at: https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ (copy and paste). Forever Home Canine Rescue offers a three-week trial period with all of our adoptions, just to be sure that the pet is a good match for the adopting family. The fee is refunded if the adoption does not work out within the trial period. We want to be sure that each of our pets will have their perfect 'forever' home! Although Forever Home Canine Rescue adopts out-of-state, we never ship or transport our pets. An approved adopter must come to North Carolina to meet their new canine companion and then take him/her back home with them.

Story
Ladies, here is the man for you... he prefers women over the male species and is a typical chihuahua who is loyal to his person. He is good with dogs his size. He is around 7 years old and needs a loving home as he approaches his senior years. If you understand those sweet chi personalities and think Bo might be your man, please read on. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
Our sweet boy Barney came from a very bad hoarding situation and was understandably a bit shook up at first. He has since started to warm up to his foster mom and is doing better each day. Timid at first, but if you give him a little time, he is your best buddy. If Barney looks like your boy, please read our adoption procedures and fill out our on line application Listed below is our adoption procedures for Clifford’s Army Rescue.
