Story
Charlie just turned 3 years old — a birthday she spent, once again, behind the walls of the shelter she’s called home for almost a year and a half. 🥀She’s a beautiful Rottweiler/Retriever mix with the softest eyes and the sweetest soul… but you’ll have to earn the chance to see that side of her. Charlie struggles with meeting new people — the world hasn’t always been kind to her — but if someone could just give her a few chances, visit her a couple of times, sit quietly nearby and let her heart unfold on its own… they’d find the most loyal, gentle, loving dog waiting underneath the fear. 💔Once she trusts you, she’s pure sunshine — a snuggly, kiss-giving, tail-wagging angel who will follow you anywhere. She walks beautifully on a leash, rides calmly in the car, and loves to stretch her legs running around the yard before curling up in a soft bed or a pile of blankets. She doesn’t care much for toys — she just wants love, safety, and someone to finally stay. 🐾Charlie has done well with some dogs here, but she takes her time getting comfortable — both with people and other pets. She’d do best in a quiet, low-traffic home with no young kids or cats. She’s a staff and volunteer favorite because we’ve seen the real her — the dog that greets you with kisses, melts into your lap, and looks at you like you’re her entire world. 🌙We keep telling her that her person is out there. That someone will see past the nerves and realize what a once-in-a-lifetime dog she truly is. But with every day that passes, she waits a little longer.Maybe you’re the one she’s been waiting for. 🖤More information? Story
Otto is a very sweet, very energetic boy. He is about 13 weeks old. I got him from a breeder who said he was a chihuahua but I think he is mixed. We are still working on house breaking and crate training. He took to the leash very well. He's still in his chewing on people stage but he has gotten better and we're working on that, too. He loves his Kong, his lamby and his nyla bones. He is very food motivated. He draws lots of attention everywhere he goes. We take him everywhere we can to get him used to all kinds of experiences and people. I have 3 cats and he wants to play with them but they want nothing to do with him. Unfortunately they have started peeing in the house and thats a nightmare. I am very sad to have to rehome Otto but I think it will be best.

Story
Meet this adorable 4-year-old Chihuahua mix who is ready to find her perfect forever home! At about 13 pounds, she's the ideal little sidekick with a big personality. She's potty trained, does well with other dogs, and absolutely loves playing fetch— it's her favorite game! She’ll need to be leashed outside unless the yard is securely fenced. Like many Chihuahuas, she can be vocal and may bark when meeting new people, but once she feels safe and comfortable, her sweet, affectionate personality shines through. She'll do best with a family that understands small dogs and is willing to give her a little time to warm up. Sky was surrendered by her first family because the little boy in the house was being too rough with her and it scared her. Because of that past, it is likely that Sky will remain cautious and nervous around little kids. So we recommend a family with children older than 8. If you're looking for a loyal, playful companion with lots of love to give, this little girl could be the perfect match. Sky has a stuffed elephant that she loves and that she takes everywhere. The family adopting Sky will have to make room for her elephant too! Sky is spayed and up to date on vaccines. Apply to meet Sky at ricopetrecovery.org. The adoption fee for Sky is $250.

Story
🐾 Little Andy is looking for the right person to give him forever family.Little Andy was found living as a stray. A homeless man was eventually able to get a piece of twine around his neck so he could be brought to safety. Based on his behavior, it’s likely Little Andy was not treated very kindly early in life.Because of that, he does not like to be picked up—but he absolutely loves being near his person. His favorite things are laying next to you while you watch TV and curling up nearby at bedtime.Little Andy enjoys the simple things in life:☀️ Laying in the sun🧸 Gathering his toys🪟 Watching the world go by from the window❤️ Getting very excited when his human comes homeHe can be a little bossy with other dogs, so he would need a very patient canine sibling or would also do well as the only dog soaking up all the attention.Little Andy will keep you safe from the Amazon drivers, happily jump in the car for rides, and enjoy short walks with his favorite person. His ideal home would be a quiet environment with someone looking for a loyal companion. Because it’s just too tempting to scoop up this adorable little guy, a home without children would be best.Little Andy may have had a rough start, but with the right person who understands him, he will be a devoted best friend for life. 🐾If you’d like to meet Little Andy, apply at ricopetrecovery.org.Adoption Fee is $200.

Story
Meet Buddy. Buddy is a 2-year old chihuahua mix. He weighs 15 lbs. Buddy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm tested. He is almost house broken. We don't know about Buddy's history. He was found as a stray in Dayton, OH area. We rescued him from the shelter. Buddy is very skittish. He is timid to places where he is not familiar with and may show fear aggression. We are looking for a quiet home for him. The adopter needs to be patient with Buddy. Buddy is fine with everybody. He usually stays away from the crowd and very quiet. However he has food aggression. He always fears that someone would take away his food/treats. Hence a home with children is not suitable for him. Once he is comfortable with you, he would come to greet you and let you to pet him. Buddy's adoption fee is $250. Please submit the adoption application at https://charlieswishanimalrescue.org for scheduling a meet and greet.

Meet Lily and Daizy. They both are female chihuahua mix. Both are 2-3 years old, weigh 10-11 lbs. They both are spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm tested. Both are not completely house trained. They use pee pads inside the house. Lily and Daizy are a bonded pair. They need to be adopted together. Lily is the black/white girl. Daizy is merle in black and tan. Both are timid and skittish. Lily is the boss of the pair. She may show fear aggression to strangers. But once she warms up, she is a sweet girl. Daizy is a shy girl but warm up quicker than Lily. She LOVES to give kisses. Both like to sleep with their foster mom under the blanket. Because of Lily's temperament, we think it is better for them to go to a home without kids. Both are food motivated. Both are friendly with dogs. We are not sure how they think about cats. LIly and Daizy's adoption fee is $500 Please submit an adoption application at http://charlieswishanimalrescue.org to schedule a meet and greet.
