Story
Charlie is an affectionate happy little dog. He loves to explore his fosters backyard. When he is not in the backyard, he likes to follow his foster around the home. Charlie loves to be near his favorite people and dogs! He likes to snuggle next to you on the couch and get under a blanket for surpreme coziness. He can be a trip hazard at times, especially when he gets excited, but we don't hold that against him. His limited eyesight causes him to run into things occasionally and he prefers his food to be wet. The less chewing, the better! Charlie would do great with another dog, in a family with young age children or an adult home. He sleeps in his dog bed but, would probably enjoy sleeping in bed with people too. :)

Story
Lola is a 10-year old Chihuahua mix weighing 10 pounds. She was adopted from the shelter in 2017 and recently returned due to biting. We have not witnessed this behavior here at the shelter. Lola is a special needs adoption due to requiring multiple medications. Lola is nervous with strangers and will take time to warm up and trust, a slow approach is needed. Once she's gotten to know you, she's all about the cuddles, jumping in your lap for all the back scratches. She loves going for walks and is curious about anything new. She is treat selective and is on a special diet for her skin allergies. Our veterinarian did diagnosis her with a heart murmur, grade 4/6. Her current medications for treatment are Pimobendan & Enalapril, which are long term. She also has a cherry eye in her left eye, which the veterinarian is not concerned about. She is good with cats and other dogs. A quiet and child free home would be best. She is crate and puppy pad trained. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $20.75. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! The Humane Society of Sandusky County is open Monday -Friday 1pm - 5pm and Saturdays from 1pm - 4pm. Also, be sure to check us out on FaceBook!
