We read on a Facebook post that little PUMPKIN simply “waltzed” into a home in Hopedale and apparently decided she wanted to stay. Whether she actually “waltzed” in with that much confidence is debatable, because we’ve found that PUMPKIN can be a little frightened when meeting someone new. But give this girl a little time to decide you’re worthy of her affection, and prepare yourself because once PUMPKIN loves you, her whole universe revolves around you. PUMPKIN is the quintessential lap dog. If you have a lap, she would like to occupy it…for hours. At some point, you’ll need to get up and actually accomplish something. No worries because PUMPKIN has it figured out. Just tuck her under one arm and continue about your business with the other. She’s happy to be carried around like the royalty she thinks she is. She can stand up and dance for attention and treats. Evidently being adorable wasn’t enough. She also is talented. PUMPKIN doesn’t have access to a doggy door in her kennel, yet she keeps hers clean, which leads us to believe she’s got some house training under her belt. She also doesn’t seem particularly bothered or concerned when other dogs come up to her kennel to say hi, but a meetngreet with yours will be necessary. One thing potential adopters should know: we were told by the people who brought her as a stray to the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, OH that PUMPKIN has tried to bite males. Since there are no men working at the pound, we haven’t been able to safely determine whether this behavior is consistent. Therefore, we will err on the side of caution and look for a female-only home for PUMPKIN. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43907. Open Mon-Fri. 10am-4pm; Sat. 9am-2pm. Hannah is a sweet, 31 lb Chi mix and was born 03/28/2021. She is house and crate trained and does well with other dogs and children. Hannah is participating in the cell dog program which is where the dog stays at the prison with a dog handler working on basic obedience and house, crate, and leash training. Ginger (7/1/18) was a stray that was picked up by the Finley Police Department and turned over to Animal Control. No one has reached out to Kym Secreet, who has had her in her kennel hoping that someone will recognize her as their missing baby. Ginger as we gave baked her, is now with Pet Search. Ginger, an overweight older Chihuahua has been vaccinated, 4 DX tested and microchipped. She is in a loving foster home who has put her on a diet for health reasons and she is being scheduled for her spay. Her foster mom is getting to know her and Ginger is getting acclimated to living with other smaller dogs. Ginger is not ready for adoption, but we want to let our supporters know that age will be looking for a home soon. Hi there! Leroy and Patches checking in! We are still available and waiting for our forever family. In the meantime, our foster mom and dad have figured out a lot of stuff by getting to know us better. We are bonded brothers who came to PetSearch by no fault of our own. Our original parents no longer could care for us due their age and health. We love to run free in a fenced in yard - we are weirded out by collars, harness and leashes (foster mom has tried everything- she can wrestle a collar onto us and walk us about 5 min until we back out of our collars) so a fenced in yard is a must for us. We are homebodies & do not like to travel unless it's going to get some chicken nuggets at the drive thru. We would love someone who’s home most of the day but short times alone are just fine with us too! We love our foster brothers/sisters and kitties but crave more attention than we get here since we have to share with a lot of them! We want most of the snuggles, love, and attention. We would be best in a house with no other dogs - but We are good with other small dogs as long as they aren’t confrontational. Patches wants to be the boss and protects Leroy with all his brotherly love - these two are inseparable and will snuggle and play all day with each other and with humans, but they’re couch potatoes at heart. Our foster mama says our puppy-kiss attacks make her day. We are scared of cages for long periods of time but ok for a couple hours, a closed off room is perfect for us but you’ve gotta leave give us something comfy to lay on. We are outside and pee-pad trained with the occasional accident (chihuahuas have small bladders) we are good with children 10-up and like a calm environment as we get worried and worked up with new surroundings and noise - Due to this, Previous chihuahua experience preferred but all are welcome to apply. We do come on command and most times will stay when told to. Leroy catches treats in his mouth and will try anything for food! If you give us a chance and a little patience we will be your best snuggle buddies for life!
