Story
Here's what Petunia's foster mom has to say about her, "Petunia has been with me for the last year. It's taken a very long time and lots of patience, but she has warmed up to me and now gets excited and all wiggly whenever she sees me. I can't always touch her, but she does usually climb into my lap whenever I sit down. She likely will never be a dog that will be comfortable with going for walks or to public places or with lots of commotion. However, she is a very sweet girl and will make a wonderful companion if someone is willing to take a chance on her and give her the time that she needs to come out of her shell."-------Petunia is a 3-year-old chihuahua. This little girl has been through a lot and is very timid. She came to us from a home where breeding was allowed to get out of control, and we believe that she had never had any human contact for her first two years of life. She is not a "normal", friendly, well-adjusted dog. She is definitely a project dog that could require many months (years?) of patience and understanding while she is acclimating to a new environment. She will need continued patience and consistency with potty training. We are looking for a quiet, adult only home with a securely fenced yard and at least one other small breed dog. We are looking to adopt Petunia locally in the OKC area. (No apartments, please.)All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on this year's vaccinations, tested negative for heart worms, microchipped, dewormed, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $150, if you're interested in adopting, please complete our Adoption Application on our website at www.allpawsrescueok.org.

Story
Meet Gina! Do you like small dogs and projects? Gina is small, she weighs only 5lbs. Gina is a project; the project is to make her love you. She came from a home with a lot of dogs and they were not socialized well. She is sweet, quiet, calm, and pretty low maintenance. She's about 5-7 years old, had some pretty severe dental disease which we took care of, and she lost quite a few teeth. She settled nicely into her foster home and has joined in the routine of the other dogs in the home. She follows her foster mom around but still prefers to stay just out of reach. She is completely potty trained as long as she is taken outside, or given a potty pad indoors. This took work as the foster mom had to corral and corner her to be able to pick her up until she trusted the situation enough to go in and out the doors on her own. When she moves to her new home, she will need to be on a leash until she gets the routine down. No apartments or houses without a secure fence, please. She will do best in a quiet home without a lot of activity. We call her a dog's dog. She is a wonderful snuggle buddy with the other chihuahua in her foster home and really needs to be adopted into a home with a small dog that will help her continue with her socialization and one that wants a little buddy. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, tested negative for heartworms (adults), microchipped, dewormed, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $150. If you're interested in adopting, please complete our Adoption Application on our website at www.allpawsrescueok.org

Meet Minnie!??Hi! My Name is Minnie, and I'm 3 months old and 3 lbs. I may look small, but no need to worry...I can still rule the house!I would love to have another doggy friend to play with in my new forever home. I am very social and love my furry and human friends, but please be patient with my energy! I love to be spoiled and have plenty of toys for a good game of fetch- I also love to be challenged. I'm great at food puzzles and will surprise you with my smarts! And I'll wow you with my amazing new skill...Sit! After a long day of playing, I love to cuddle with my family and dream about playing again tomorrow.Minnie is still crate training and potty training, but she's doing very well. She also has a big appetite for such a tiny belly and is a champ at drinking water. Please keep in mind Minnie is still learning personal space, as well as teething, so patience is key with her. A wooden fenced yard is required, as well as supervision when she is inside and outside. All puppies are spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccinations (but will require more), microchipped, dewormed, and current on flea/tick prevention. The adoption fee is $200, if you're interested in adopting, please complete our Adoption Application on our website at www.allpawsrescueok.org

Story
ChiChi is a ten year old chihuahua/rat terrier mix with special needs.  She may be older, but she is very feisty and spunky.  She has a big personality and warms up to her humans quickly! She likes to play with the other dogs but is perfectly content sitting on her human’s lap and watching TV.  She is potty trained and crate trained, would be great with other dogs or would be fine as an only dog as long as she doesn’t have too much alone time.  She has medial patella luxation, but due to her age, the vet doesn’t recommend surgery. She often walks bow-legged, but it doesn’t slow her down.  She also has a salivary gland disorder but doesn’t currently require treatment. It does result in occasional coughing. ##1843073##

Story
Sweet senior Gilligan needs a family to love him the way he deserves! He was abandoned on the side of the road as so many dogs are in our state.  If you're looking for a small, senior dog to love the rest of its life with few needs of his own, Gilligan is the man for you Get to know him directly from his foster below! "Gilligan is such an old man. He finds a nice warm place and hunkers down for hours on end, snoozing away. He sleeps through chaos like a champ, and cuddles up in bed at night. He is more of a free feeder, he does fine with dry dog kibble but he absolutely LOVES to sneak into the cat room and steal their wet food. Anytime we’ve done any additives to their food (wet dog food, gravy, bacon grease, homemade treats, etc.) he really chows down.  When the weather is nice, he love love loves to sit out and sun bathe. If allowed, he will sit out on the porch in the sun for hours on end, just a snoozing. He is amazing at taking his meds (standard preventatives) and rarely has accidents. He tends to be a barker when he wants something… like a door opened, to be picked up and put in bed, when he gets himself stuck in a the cat room…  He is also an opportunist when it comes to escape. If taken outside without a leash, he stays close and tends to follow just fine. If the gate gets blown open, and he is outside, he will slowly meander is way across the neighborhood, stopping at every porch on the way. He doesn’t run from us (unless, sometimes, when we are trying to get him in the kennel) but he will gladly pretend that he doesn’t hear us if he’s discovered a potential adventure.   Overall, Gilligan is a very happy, very easy going guy. He is easily satisfied and loves to cuddle up in front of a cozy fire or under the sheets in bed. He’s very good at flying under the radar in a multi pet home, and is the most well behaved out of all of our babes. He’s the grandpa that just sits on his rocker quietly while all the family plays and socializes around him. He is just as content on his own as he is with others." We know there is a forever family out there that will love this guy the way he deserves!    ##1777892##
