SCAN QR CODE FOR FULL BIO It's true, this golden girl loves to Netflix and chill-out in her favorite blankie but don't let her age fool you. She has the "get up and go!" That would rival a gal half her age. Dorothy enjoys long walks and if you don't know where to go, that's okay because she will tell you! She loves adventure, and laughs in the face of fear. No noise, crowd or adventure scares this girl. Fireworks, crowded outdoor events, bike rides, small and large dogs and just about every person she has met is cool in her book. While it hasn't been tested yet, I'm pretty sure she would love kayaking. In fact, if it's outdoors, there's a pretty good chance she will love it. This golden gal is sweet and gives the best kisses and butt wiggles. One thing to note is that bodily autonomy is important to her. You know when you find that perfect spot on the couch and you're just too comfy to move? She knows too, and isnt too pleased about giving it up. But if you ask nicely, she will happily scooch for her human. Dorothy has normal senior health aliments, foggy eyes (but gets around just fine in her foster home), occasional cough, due to allergies and age. If you are looking for a vocal sassy and oh so sweet life adventure partner, this kid is for you. Dorothy knows her name but will easily adapt to a new one. Her beautiful collar and favorite blankie will go to her new home. Now how awesome is that? She would do well with both siblings or as an only child. Speaking of kids, she holds her own with high and low energy humans of all ages, even the kids at heart ??. She hasn't been cat tested, but did fine with meeting a frog, birds and has a squirrel friend in the backyard. Fill out an application today, if you'd like to give this golden girl a retirement home!

Story
Winston Meet Winston, aka Boots! Winston came to 405 as a surrender. He was in desperate need of a soft place to land. He has already shown so much progress since the first night he joined the squad! And we can’t wait to see him continue to flourish and grow!  Stats:: Approx 3 yo and 15 lbs : Leash trained: Kennel trained: Mostly housebroken* (see below): Coexists well with other dogs, but has not been seen to be playful with the pack : Has not been tested with cats, but would not likely recommend. : Has not been tested with children, but would not recommend children under 13yo Observations while in foster:: Has walked well on a leash, alone or in a pair. Has seen bunnies, squirrels, and birds and not been very interested. Has seen other dogs and has either ignored them or growled a little but overall was found to be easily redirectable. : Needs slow introductions with resident dogs. Initially we introduced him to the squad. Let him sniff a bit. And then kenneled him in a room by himself to have a nap and decompress. Since then, he has coexisted with the resident dogs fairly easily. He also has a small pen in the dining room with his kennel inside of it for space to observe the pack while having his own bubble. : Rides well in the car both in and out of the crate. Spent over an hour in a crate inside a very busy and loud animal clinic and he curled up and slept the entire time. : Marking - Winston has marked a couple of times while in the foster home. This may be complicated by the fact that two of the resident dogs have to use puppy pads. However, it is in his best interest to alert a potential family about this issue as he may need further training. That being said, he does not mark while in his pen or kennel. Also he wears a belly band when allowed to roam the house and has not attempted to mark with the belly band on. He has been allowed on furniture, etc without issue and without trying to take off the band.  Recommendations:: A low traffic home : I don’t think he needs to be a sole dog, but other resident dogs should have a calm demeanor : No cats: Children 13+ : Agreeable to further training Winston is a sweet boy who deserves his chance in the right home. While we don’t know his past, it is clear he has not known much kindness in his life. He has blossomed in such a short amount of time with us, that I’m confident with the right match he will make a fantastic addition to your family! ##2397183##

Story
Jax is a 10+ year-old Chihuahua mix with about 10 pounds of attitude, heart, and charm. He’s the kind of dog who will follow you everywhere—not because he’s needy, but because he’s decided you’re his person, and he’s not letting you out of his sight. Even though he is a little blind, he knows where you are lol. Jax is mostly calm and low-maintenance, but like many Chihuahuas, he has grumpy moments—especially when it comes to food. He’s food-motivated and just prefers to dine in peace (his kennel works perfectly for that). Give him his space at mealtime, and he’ll be your best buddy the rest of the day. Despite his age, Jax still has plenty of pep in his step. He loves going on walks and gets excited when he hears the food bowl. He gets along well with other dogs and cats, but would do best in a home without young children—not because he’s mean, but because he appreciates a quieter environment and adults who understand the classic Chihuahua personality. If you’re a lover of quirky little seniors with big opinions and even bigger hearts, Jax might just be your perfect match. He's ready to live out his golden years with someone who gets him—and who doesn’t mind a tiny shadow wherever they go. ##2217319##
