Story
Nena is a petite chihuahua looking for a family who knows how to handle chihuahua sass :) Nena is very scared, and has sensitive feelings sometimes too. She will need an adult only home but does get along with other dogs and cats. Her family moved to another country and her temporary caretaker couldn't keep her any longer. Nena will take time and possibly multiple visits before she is ready to go home with a new family.

Story
Brutus: DOB 7-14-2023 This darling little Chihuahua is all up to date on shots and ready to come home. This boy knows no stranger, everything he meets is his best friend! Not only is Brutus cute he has personality all over himself! Brutus is full of antics but loves to fall asleep in your arms while you are reading or watching TV. He will weigh around 7 pounds as an adult. His adoption fee is 600.00 and his transport fee is 165.00. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Mr. Poppy This adorable little fella is a spitfire to say the least. He came from a hoarding situation with a lot of other dogs. When he came in he was petrified. We took in several dogs from this home and with each drop-off... they told us these were the last dogs in the home. The dogs were not handled much and he will still run from you if he feels threatened or knows you want to put him in his crate. He can be crated and should be when you are not home, but he really doesn't care for it. Mr. Poppy will require a home with at least one other smaller to medium sized pup or a home where his people are home more often than not. He prefers adults and is what we call our "Parrot dog". He is happy to be laying with you, in your lap, or lounging on your shoulder watching tv. He does currently sleep in bed with his foster mom and dad, so he will need a home where this is ok and furniture is not off-limits. We would suggest a home that is not extremely active as he is reactive to strangers when they first come into the home. He does not do well on car rides, so he will be happy to just hang out at the house with you, rather than going on trips to the store, etc. We are recommending no children under 15 for this little guy. He wants to be the only "kid" in the house. If having a companion who thinks you are his world is what you are looking for and are willing to deal with his limitations, then Mr. Poppy is your boy! When applying to adopt through ODAAT, please know that we take pride in placing our animals appropriately based on their needs and personality. We want the best family for them and the perfect fit for your family. All applications are ran prior to choosing an adopter... This process takes time and we do not adopt out on a "first come first served" basis. Applications are found on our website www.onedogatatime.us .   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 6, 2024, 7:30 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.A generous donor has sponsored Peanut's adoption donation! Peanut is a beautiful 5 year old, 12 pound chocolate Chi that was abandoned in a home with his big furry brother. When he came to us from the shelter he had horrible skin and eye issues. Unfortunately, his dry eye was never treated and he developed an ulcer. Even though everything was done to save the eye, it did need surgically removed due to a rupture. Now that he is all healed this boy is ready for his forever home! His dry eye is treated with daily eye drops, and he is a good little guy to get his drops. Peanut has had one mild seizure recently, and has some demons that can come out to play at night. He has been on phenobarbital since August, and it has helped significantly. If he wakes up with a low growl, he can be easily talked back to calm, and swiftly goes back to sleep. He prefers to sleep with his people, but you must be warned it can be risky during the night if his demons come out. Besides that, Peanut is one healthy, playful, and loving boy who is ready for any adventure with his family. He is crate trained during the day, house trained, leash trained, loves car rides and just a little love bug. Peanut gets along with other dogs, but wrestling and getting the tennis ball first are his favorite things. He will even play fetch all by himself for your entertainment, and his toys get lots of air time! Peanut is your typical chihuahua who wants to be the center of your world. Won't you give this boy his dream of a forever home? To adopt Peanut, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org. The $350 adoption donation has been sponsored by a donor and includes core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordatella), Accuplex (Heart worm and Lyme test), fecal, microchip, bloodwork, neuter, dental, and all the love you can handle!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 3, 2024, 5:49 am
