Meet Pepper! Pepper was found wandering a neighbor and some nice ladies took her in and searched for her owners, but ended up not finding them. No microchip, collar, tag, nothing. Once her stray hold was completed, they brought her to us. Boy is she cute AND sweet! She was loved at some point in her life as she knows basic commands (when treats are involved) and his house/pad/crate trained. Pepper does get really excited (once she gets to know you) when you get home, she likes to jump and get kisses! lol She is an ACTIVE girl and definitely needs a fence for “zoomies” and would prefer another dog friend (unless her people are home most of the time). She is great with most people and pets, however she will chase kitties if they are running around. She is around a year old and is a perfect size! Not too little and not too big, weighing 17 pounds. She is spayed, updated on all shots, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on heartworm/flea/tick prevention. The adoption fee is $200 Which covers spay/neuter, shots, microchip, heartworm test, grooming (if needed), deworming, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and supplies while in our care. The pet MUST be kept on heartworm prevention all of their life. Home owners and those a fenced in yard are always given preference.* The application is to be completed prior to meeting the pet(s) you are interested in adopting. Meet Katy! (AKA Katy Bug) She was surrendered by her owner due to a move unfortunately, so that’s why she’s need a FURever home now. Oh my word…she the sweetest girl ever! She is so friendly and walked in the house liked she had always been here! This girl is a major cuddler and lap dog, so be warned! lol Oh and she has the softest fur for a chihweenie I’ve ever touched! Katy is 4-5 years old and weighs 12 pounds. She is spayed, updated on all shots, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms. She must be kept on heartworm prevention all of her life like all dogs should be. She is great with people of all ages and other dogs. She has been good with most of my cats, but there is 1 she doesn’t care for at all, so it will just depend on the cat. She is pretty good in the house and is used to a fence or leash walking. As always, please expect a few accidents as she adjusts to her new home. Adoption Area: East Tennessee Tippy needs: -Active adult home as I am a young girl and if children in the home need to be over 12 years old -A fenced yard -Someone home part of the day to continue working on my house training, but I am doing well! -A small playful dog friend Tippy is a sweet, cheerful little girl who’s ready to find her forever family! She’s about a year old, weighs 11 pounds, and is a mostly tan Chihuahua mix with adorable white tips on her feet—hence the name Tippy. Tippy came to SBRET from a local shelter with several other dogs from the same house. She has settled beautifully into her foster home. She was shy and skittish at first, and she can still get nervous with loud noises or too much excitement. When she gets startled or overly excited, she may have a small potty accident, but she is making great progress with her house training. She uses the fenced backyard to do her business and is learning what this whole “leash” thing is about—she’s unsure for now, but with patience and gentle practice, she’ll catch on. This little girl LOVES to play! Toys, chew bones, and zoomies are all on her favorite’s list. She enjoys other dogs and would happily play with them, though the older dogs in her foster home aren’t quite up for her puppy energy. She’s also very affectionate and absolutely melts for belly rubs. Tippy would thrive in an active home and would likely do well with older, gentle children, as she is friendly and eager to interact. At night, she goes right into her crate and sleeps soundly until morning. When Tippy goes to her new home it’s going to take her just a few days to warm up but if you’re patient with her, she will be your best little buddy ever! Adoption Area: East Tennessee Tula Pink’s Requirements -Adult-only home -Someone home part of the day -No access to large flights of stairs -Any resident dogs must be small and gentle Tula Pink (Tutu for short) is a 5-year-old, 6 and 1/2 pound Chihuahua with a calm, loving personality and a shiny, beautiful chocolate-brown coat that always gets compliments. She is incredibly sweet, gentle, and easy to love, and she fits wonderfully into a peaceful home environment. Tula was born hydrocephalic, so she may be considered special needs, but she is not on any medication and currently enjoys a wonderful quality of life. While her condition could change in the future, she is stable, comfortable, and thriving right now. She sometimes has trouble telling where sounds are coming from and has limited night vision, so her foster mom uses a flashlight to help her navigate the yard at night. She also had luxating patella surgery on her left knee and has recovered well. Tula is doing well with her house training. She will go potty outside in the yard or use a pee pad indoors. Like many small dogs, she can have accidents if she is not kept on a consistent schedule, so routine is important for her success. She enjoys going outside to sniff and explore the yard. She’s learning to walk on a leash and does well—especially when she can choose the direction. She also gets along nicely with the small, gentle dogs and cats in her foster home. At night, Tula sleeps perfectly in her crate, settling in without any issues. Since she doesn’t understand stairs, her new home will need to block off or avoid staircases for her safety. Tula Pink is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $175.00. Tula is a loving, quiet little dog who will bring warmth and companionship to a patient, understanding home.
