Story
AJ is located in TEXAS. He is available for local adoption or adoption and transport to another state. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down here, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. X-Rays show that AJ has back problems and needs a daily anti-inflammatory (Meloxidyl). He needs this medication every day. He also needs dog steps to get on and off furniture and a bit of care when he is picked up to avoid hurting his back. Applicants must be able to afford his medication (which is not expensive) and be able to take him to the vet as needed. AJ was an owner surrender. The son fell on hard times and left AJ with his parents. The parents wanted to rehome him because they had financial problems of their own and because he was not housetrained. However, we have not had any problems with him going potty in the house. He goes to the door when he wants out. AJ is a very handsome chihuahua weighing 10 pounds. He is an older guy, maybe around 8 years of age. AJ is a very good boy and not a stereotypical chihuahua. He is wary of new people but warms up with time. AJ is crate-trained and well-behaved in the house. He rides well in the vehicle, walks well on a leash, and comes when called. AJ is fairly quiet, he only barks when he wants to come back in the house after he goes outside. He spends most of his time lying on the couch or in his bed. He does like treats. And we think he was playing a little bit with our poodle. He does get bossy and will try to dominate the larger male dogs. One of our large males did get mad at him and cuffed him to put him in his place. So we would recommend that he not be allowed to interact with larger dogs that might hurt him. AJ is fine with other small dogs and would probably also do well with cats. AJ is small and delicate and must be protected from rough treatment by children or big dogs that could hurt him. He must also be protected from raptors and other outdoor predators. AJ must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and would like a fenced yard to run and play. AJ is healthy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. AJ is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. He had a dental and his 4 upper incisors had to be removed. The rest of his teeth were in good shape. We would really love AJ to have a fabulous forever home and we will consider both local and out-of-state applications. His out-of-state adoption fee only covers the cost of his transport to the northeast, pacific northwest, or Toronto Canada. He is being fostered in Texas and we do not have the resources to send him north until after he is adopted. Please fill out our online application at https://www.2manydogsrescue.org/adoption-application.html if you are interested in adopting this sweet boy. Story
Rafie has an est. dob of 10/21/2020, approximately 14 lbs, terrier mix, neutered, chipped, heartworm negative, and UTD on vaccinations We’ll let him tell a bit about himself: I love having other dogs to play with , a kennel that helps me feel safe and comfortable when they go out or when it’s bed time, and lots of toys I can chew on and chase after! I’m potty trained and walk well on a leash. I have the softest coat you have ever felt, and a silly 'mane' that's super soft too! I would love a forever home with another dog to play with and I'll even happily share my food and treats with my new friend. I haven't been around little kids, but my human teenaged foster siblings are pretty cool too! Can I come live with you? Forever? Rafie is in a foster home with other small dogs that he does well with. Rafie would do best in a home with older children and someone home a majority of the time. He can be a little slow to warm up but once he’s comfortable, he’s very affectionate! $200 (including tax) adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heart worm test (in dogs over 6 months of age), microchip and registration, spay/neuter, wormer and flea and heart worm prevention while the dog is in our care. All breed and size categorizations are estimates. Please consider making this handsome boy a member of your family. As we are a foster based rescue, we do require a completed application to be submitted before we arrange a meet.  This can be found on our website at :  https://almosthomepetrescue.org/apply-now-1  June 5, 2023, 9:50 pm

Story
Here’s Charlie’s story , Charlie was a shelter rescue dog & I’ve had him for almost 3 years . I’m going through some challenges in my own life that will require an upcoming surgery in June and I would like Charlie to have a new forever home . Charlie also has some behavioral issues that need a little more training. He loves my 9 year old granddaughter, although not so much with the younger ones . So he does growl . Charlie has never bitten anyone & he is a bit fearful . Charlie knows how to wait when you are walking up and down stairs . I’ve taught him the command “are you waiting”? He’s also good at letting me know when someone is around my front door . He doesn’t like storms . He gets a little distracted when going potty, although he’s house trained . Charlie just needs patience. Charlie is neutered so he will not be adding to the overpopulation problem. Charlie needs a new home very soon as I’m focusing on my physical health .

Story
Meet super cute bonded mom and son Bitsy and Bobo. Bitsy (aka Momma) is a white 2-year-old, 12 lb. Chorkie (Chihuahua/terrier). Bobo is a brown 1-year-old, 6 lb Chorkie (Chihuahua/terrier). This mother/son duo love each other so much! They sit on the couch together, sleep together, and are always together. They love to play in the backyard. While they tend to keep to themselves, Bitsy does love to play with another foster dog; Bobo is still learning how to play and can be overprotective of his bed with dogs other than his momma. Potty skills are progressing. Both are still learning how to trust humans; they will take a treat from your hand once they trust you. Bitsy does seem to prefer women. Both dogs are fully vetted, including dental and spay and need to be adopted together. Adoption fee is: Bobo $200 & Bitsy $200 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with the foster to set up a meet and greet. We are a foster based RESCUE, not a shelter. All of our dogs are in individual foster homes. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs. CAMO rescue is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing small dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill TX shelters. EIN # is 46-5486022 We rescue 800+ animals a year. Story
Yolo is a 1 year old, 15 pound chihuahua. Sweet Yolo is such a gentle boy. He absolutely loves to play with other dogs, especially running around the yard. He would do best with another playful dog in the home. Yolo can be a tad shy when meeting new people, but once he has your trust "he will be your best buddy"! He currently sleeps in a xpen @ night, but would be ok in a crate too. He is doing great on his potty training. He would be best with children 7yrs and up with good "dog manners". Yolo has been fully vetted and is so ready to find his forever home. Adoption fee is: $350.00 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.
