Story
Meet Buttercup! Gentle Buttercup is one of four pups in our Powerpuff Girls group. She and the other members of the Powerpuff Girls were removed from a hoarding situation. A local shelter asked for our help with these young puppies, and we were happy to take them into our rescue. I mean, who could resist this face? With black, fawn, and white fur, Buttercup is a Chihuahua with large, soulful eyes who will be a small dog when grown. And those ears! Adorable! Likely born in early April, Buttercup will be spayed shortly (6/25/26) and able to go home with an adopter a few days after her surgery. We are taking applications for Buttercup, and this loving and playful puppy is currently in a foster home getting lots of attention, cuddling, and playtime. Buttercup is growing into a healthy, active, affectionate pup ready for her new home. Want to learn more about Buttercup? Fill out an inquiry or application form today! **Puppies this young cannot be left alone more than a few hours at a time. Please only apply if you can be home with your puppy or can make arrangements for the puppy’s care. Ready to adopt? Now what? Please take 3-4 minutes and complete our application form at: www.lilaccitypupproject.org. Our adoption team will spring into action! You will have a phone call conversation with a dedicated adoption counselor, and the adoption team will contact your vet(s), if applicable. Once you have been matched with a dog, a meet and greet will be set up and take place at the foster family's home. After the meet and greet, there will be a home inspection and in-home trial prior to adoption finalization. Lilac City Pup Project is entirely volunteer and foster run, with no kennel facility. Only approved adoption applicants will be able to meet our dogs outside of adoption events. Adoption Donations: $350 for Puppies up to 9 months $300 for Adults 9 months or older *includes spay/neuter, all core vaccinations, and microchip. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Lilac City Pup Project is a federal 501c3 organization. Not sure you want to adopt, foster first and adopt later! LCPP is always in need of fosters. There is an overwhelming number of dogs who need our help and the more fosters we have, the more dogs we can save. LCPP covers expenses, including food. Fosters provide love and a soft place to crash. At Lilac City Pup Project we strive to better the lives of vulnerable dogs through rescue, foster, and adoption services; educate dog owners and empower them to build successful human/canine relationships; and support the local community by partnering with shelters facing overcrowding and limited resources. LCPP is organized exclusively for public, charitable, and/or educational purposes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. LCPP is a Nonprofit organization formed in Washington State in April 2025, by passionate dog lovers. One hundred percent (100%) of every dollar goes to furthering our tax-exempt purpose. Story
ChiChi is a very sweet and shy girl looking for a loving, patient family who will let her get to know them at her pace. ChiChi loves routine and that has helped her to be accident-free in the house. She doesn't mind a crate, and even chooses it to escape the happenings around her. Bonus features: Good with other small dogs. Not a barker (only heard it a couple of times) and shows NO aggression, in spite of her nervous nature. 🐾💗 If you are interested in adopting or getting to know Chi Chi, you can reach out to the Spokanimal foster team via email or phone call. She is currently in a foster home. TEXT: 509-655-2699 EMAIL: foster@spokanimal.org

Meet Little 💕 At 15 years old, Little is a gentle, loving soul searching for a soft place to land. After losing her owner and then her second home due to a move, she’s hoping someone will see her and say, “that’s my dog.” Little adores her people and just wants to be by your side. She has lovely manners, is showing strong signs of being potty trained, and takes treats gently. She still enjoys her toys—especially balls and stuffies 💗 She does well with other dogs and may be okay with cats (though she can be a bit curious and chase them). She hasn’t been around young kids but does just fine with adults and teens. Loud noises like storms and fireworks can be scary for her, so she’ll need a calm, comforting home. Little has so much love left to give—she just needs someone to give her a chance. Come meet her… she’s been waiting for you. 💕

Story
Hi, I’m Dexter! I’m a sweet 7-year-old boy who recently came to the shelter after my family had to move and couldn’t take me with. It wasn’t my fault—I’m just looking for a cozy new place to call home 💙 I’m a pretty easygoing guy who loves the simple things in life—like soft toys (the fluffier, the better), belly rubs, and spending time with my people. I already know the command “go to bed,” and I’ll happily head right to my crate! I was used to being crated when left home alone and at night, and it’s a space I feel comfortable in. I’m showing very strong signs of being housebroken and have great manners in the home. Loud noises can make me a little nervous, so I’d do best in a calmer environment where I can feel safe and relaxed. I do well with dogs my size but haven’t been around larger dogs much yet. I’m good with kids and have no known history with cats. I can pull a bit on leash, but I still enjoy getting out for walks and exploring with you! If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who just wants a soft place to land and someone to love, I might be your perfect match 🐶💙 Come meet me—I’d love to be your new best friend.

Story
Don’t let his fluffy little face fool you—Branch may be small, but he has a big personality and a lot to say! 💙 Branch came to us from Spokane County Animal Protection Service after needing a fresh start. He was adopted, but unfortunately returned after his family noticed he was struggling with using his mouth when he felt uncomfortable. Since then, we’ve learned that Branch is a dog who needs patience, understanding, and a family willing to take the time to earn his trust. Here at the shelter, Branch has shown us that when he feels comfortable, he can do well with handling. We’ve worked with him on trying different harnesses, checking his feet, and looking in his mouth, and he has been able to handle these things with calm, slow interactions. However, Branch has shown that the transition into a home environment can be challenging for him, and he will need an adopter who understands that trust takes time. Branch isn’t a dog who wants to be rushed—he’s looking for someone who will listen to his signals, respect his boundaries, and help him feel safe. With the right person, he has the potential to continue building confidence and learning that new experiences can be positive. If you’re someone who appreciates the little dogs with big personalities, understands the importance of patience, and wants to help a pup on his journey, Branch may be the companion you’ve been looking for. 🐾 Branch is hoping to find someone who will see past his challenges and love the sweet, fluffy little guy underneath. 💙

Story
Lily was a rescue we got about 3 years ago. She is very sweet and snuggly but she does have a problem with peeing on rugs. She lives with 2 big dogs and 2 kids but she likes to have her space to relax by herself. She likes car rides and walks. She loves the heat. She likes to lay in the sun in the yard all day if she could. She will give kisses and snuggle in bed at night. She is kind but she needs space and lots of room to run.She has a lot of past trauma but has come a very long way. I just feel like she needs someone that can give her space to relax and more room to run and play. She also just wants attention and we can’t give her the amount she deserves. She is happy and will go in her kennel when asked. She can be destructive of shoes or pillows if left unattended with them. She does bark but only when super excited or someone walking by the yard.
