Story
Not every puppy feels the need to be the center of attention... and there's something incredibly special about the ones who are perfectly content simply being themselves.
Piglet is one of those puppies. This chunky little girl has the sweetest, gentlest presence about her. Everything about her feels tiny and delicate, from her adorable little whiskers to her petite features, and she has the kind of face that somehow gets even cuter every time you look at it. She's still just a teeny tiny baby discovering the world one little adventure at a time, and getting to watch her personality begin to bloom has been such a joy.
Watch her video and prepare to fall in love with this precious little lady: https://youtu.be/K-g_mkJzWVQ?si=GR6YVu47QHztkb95
Piglet is approximately 1 month old, currently weighs around 3 lbs, and we believe she may be a Chihuahua mix or maybe even a Aussie mix. She has 4 siblings and if you look at her siblings, you can see they are all unique with their own special characteristics. Perfect timing to enter the reference, "life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get." You can also see a picture of mom as well and she's only about 18lbs! So we do know, this litter has some small genetics mixed in there somewhere. As with any rescue animal, breed is always a bit of a mystery, but one thing we know for sure is that Piglet is 100% adorable.
Like any young puppy, Piglet's personality is still developing as she grows, but she's already showing us what a wonderfully balanced little girl she is. She happily wrestles with her siblings, enjoys playing with toys, and has already discovered that entertaining herself can be just as much fun as joining everyone else. Whether she's chasing after a toy she found all on her own or joining in on a puppy wrestling match, she always seems perfectly content.
One of our favorite things about Piglet is that she has such a lovely mix of independence and affection. She enjoys spending time with her people and will happily wander over for a little love when she's in the mood, but she's also perfectly comfortable doing her own thing. If something catches her eye, she'll quietly head off to investigate. When she's ready for a nap, she'll find herself a cozy little spot, curl up, and drift off to sleep without a second thought. She has a quiet confidence that's incredibly endearing, and we think it's going to make her such an easy dog to live with as she grows.
Right now, life is exactly what puppyhood should be: playing, exploring, eating, cuddling, napping, and then waking up ready to do it all over again. Every day brings new experiences, new discoveries, and another chance for her personality to continue unfolding. One of the greatest joys of adopting a puppy this young is getting to be part of that journey and watching the dog they're meant to become.
Piglet is still very young and will need a family that's ready to commit to all the time, patience, training, and socialization that come with raising a puppy. Establishing routines, providing structure, setting healthy boundaries, and introducing her to the world through positive experiences will all help her grow into a confident, well-rounded adult dog. We require our adopters to begin crate training as soon as their new puppy comes home, as it plays an important role in potty training, learning good habits, managing puppy energy, and helping puppies feel safe and secure.
If you've been searching for a puppy who's equal parts playful, affectionate, independent, and sweet, Piglet just might be your perfect match. She doesn't need to be the loudest puppy in the room to steal your heart... somehow, she manages to do that simply by being her wonderfully gentle little self.
