Are you an Akita lover? Have you had the experiencing of sharing your life with another large stubborn dog breed before and want to do it again? Kuma might be just what you`re looking for! His previous home said he was an affectionate guy who loved being with his people, and we couldn`t agree more. He has quickly stolen the hearts of many staff and volunteers alike and we can`t wait to see him find the new best friend he so deserves. Kuma is looking for a home with adopters experienced with Akitas or similar breeds. He would like to be the only dog in the home and would do best in a home with teens and older. If you are interested in learning more about Kuma and seeing if you are a match made in heaven, then fill out our online dog adoption questionnaire on paws.org and staff will be happy to tell you more about him.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Hi, I'm Astro, a 8-year-old Chow/Lab mix. Don't let my serious face fool you, I'm a goofy sweet guy! I like to get to know my people slowly, but once I do I love your pets and scratches and I'll even sit in your lap! I'm very food motivated and guard my food and toys with growls and can be stubborn. I love to go for walks and walk well on a leash. I know lots of commands (sit, stay, up, down, lay down, shake, wait, let's go) and love performing for treats. I was recently in a foster home and here are some of my likes/dislikes that they shared about me… Like: food!, exercise/walks and agility, butt scratches, sleeping in my crate, chewing my toys, watching out the window, music, water, other dogs, comfy beds, getting baths Don't like: brushes, towels and loud trucks Astro would do best as the only dog in a house without kids or other small animals since he can be protective and is strong. He will need a family familiar with protection breeds like chows. Astro is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. His fee is $200.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Introducing Ghost! This stunning sweetheart is a playful and loving 5-year-old Malamute mix who is looking for his forever home! Ghost is incredibly friendly, happy and loves to play around outside with his people! He is a leaner and loves pets and attention too. Ghost walks well on leash but can get excited and pull at times. He is large, around 75-80lbs and will need an adopter who can handle his size, strength, and his desire to be cuddled up in your arms! Ghost has done well with other dogs in our care, and actually came from a home where he lived with two other large dogs. He would do well with another large laid back dog in the home or could do fine as an only dog soaking up all of the love and attention. No cats or small animals for him as he has a very high prey drive. He will do best in a home where his family is not gone long hours or takes him with them often. Ghost is an active dog who will make an AMAZING adventure companion for any lucky outdoorsy family. He would love a home that takes him on many adventures as well as has a large yard for him to run and explore. Anything involving snow brings him so much joy and although he likes a good adventure, he can also be a total couch potato! Although he is a super friendly and cuddly dude, he can be strong and bouncy and needs some continued basic obedience training. He has come a long ways on house training however and absolutely LOVES to cuddle with his person! We are recommending an adult only home or a home with kids over the age of 12. He will also require a fence that is at least 6ft tall. Ghost is going to make an incredible addition to any lucky household that adopts him and will be a very loyal companion. Ghost is UTD on shots, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400.
