Balto is a sweet, playful and loving 2 year old, Malamute/Shepherd mix who is looking for his forever home! REQUIREMENTS (applications that do not meet requirements will not be responded to) - Fully fenced, 6ft+, large yard outside of the city - Family that is not gone long hours or has staggering schedules - Northern breed experience - Adult only or kids over age of 12 Balto is super friendly and happy and loves to play around outside with his people! He is a leaner and loves pets and attention too. Balto walks well on leash but can get excited and pull at times. He is large, around 75-80lbs and will needs owners who can handle his size and strength. Balto does good with other dogs and came from a home where he lived with two other large dogs. No cats or small animals for him. He would do well with another large laid back dog in the home. And he would make a great adventure buddy! Balto is UTD on shots, neutered and microchipped. Story
Say hi to Niko! This sweet Alaskan Malamute has had a rough past and is ready to move forward with his loving forever home. Niko is around 3 years old, 70-80lbs and a big fluff of love! Niko was a stray dog in Mexico, which is a tough place for a Malamute to be a stray! When Niko joined us he was severely underweight, and is now up to a much more healthy weight for him. Niko does resource guard (with food, toys, etc) around other dogs, which is no surprise as he is used to competing for his food and resources as a stray. He does do well with other dogs, as long as there are no resources for him to feel like he needs to protect. He would do best as an only dog in the home, but is fine out and about with other dogs. He is a dog that with some professional training, stability and structure could definitely improve with his resource guarding. We are looking for one of two homes for him, a home where he is an only dog but can get continued training and supervised socialization around other dogs, or a home that is very experienced with resource guarding and has another large, laid back female dog that is not interested in toys. Outside of his resource guarding, Niko is an awesome dog! He loves to play with toys with his people, likes to hang out in the yard with you or in the house. He also really enjoys going for walks and hikes! He is great on car rides, is crate trained and is quiet and rests in his crate, he is working on his potty training which with his background is to be expected. Niko would be best suited in an adult home only due to his resource guarding he is working on, but could do ok in an experienced home with kids over 12. Niko would love to have a home with a fenced yard. No apartments, no cats or small critters. Niko is neutered, microchipped and UTD on shots. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Oscar! Oscar is a 2.5-year-old Malamute who came to us as his previous owner was no longer able to care for him. He is a playful and friendly boy and will need some work on his overall obedience and leash skills. He is very strong and will need a family that can physically handle his strength for leash walks and training. He would love an active family to take him for walks, adventures, or hiking. He would love a home with a securely fenced yard in a suburban or rural area where he can explore, play or just hang out. He can be jumpy, and we would recommend a home without small children due to his excitability and jumpiness as he could knock them over. Oscar is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Max is a 10-year-old Alaskan Malamute/German Shepard mix. Max has bounced around a couple of homes due to some behavioral issues but with the right family that is dedicated to him and his training, he can be a wonderful dog! Max will resource guard and is protective over his food, toys, and his person. His previous family claims he began this behavior after getting attacked at the dog park at the age of 2. Most of the time he is a great dog with no issues, but he will need a family that is experienced and can work with him in the areas he has some issues. He is neutered, potty trained, crate trained, and walks well on leash unless he sees a bunny, squirrel, or another dog. Since Max can be protective of his person, Max needs a single owner home or a home with two very experienced and committed owners as he will likely end up bonding with and being protective of one of the owners. We will not place him in a home with multiple people (roommates) or kids. Max would do better in a non-urban area. He's not a dog that can be left tied up outside a store and is a bite risk for strangers. The owner will have to be vigilant about proper introductions. He's fluffy and beautiful, strangers and children will want to pet him. Max should be the only dog in the home with no cats. Max is a great dog and has a lot of love to give to the right person. His adoption fee is $200.

Story
Haku means "pure" in Japanese! I was named for my pure, passionate and overwhelming love for everyone around me! I came to the rescue when my dad was stationed in Japan and heartbroken that he couldn't take me with him. I've missed him so much ever since! Everyday I do the things I did with him with other dogs so I can try and remember what it felt like to be with him! But it's just not the same. So, I'm hoping a new family can come scoop me up and show me what it feels like to be a part of a home and family again! I am good with other dogs, I love playing chase with them or tugging on chew toys. I'll need a happy and active home so that my life will be full of love and fun! I am a bit anxious and nervous around new people, and people in general! Slow introductions, a safe space I can retreat to like a crate and not forcing me into spaces with tons of people will help me be myself all the time! Haku can only be adopted in the local or TX area. Local adoption only, in San Antonio or TX area, $200.

Story
HI - I'M ARLO, a 2-year-old happy, loving and large Alaskan Malamute/Siberian Husky, currently in Seattle in a foster home. I weigh at least 100 pounds and am a large bundle of love! I am a sweetheart with people, and I do well with other dogs, too - I love to play. I could use a little help in teaching me how to play given my size, but I've got a great disposition and am eager to learn. I'd make a wonderful companion for a strong and active person, people or family who can take me for walks, hikes and other outings. I just have a great personality. Can you foster or adopt me? Please email for an application.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Interested in adopting? See our adoption process. KANGA  thrives on adventure and would love an active adopter who will take him on adventures and give him plenty of play time! Kanga is a loyal guy and will be a great companion for someone. He also LOVES the snow! His number one favorite activity (even more than walks and treats!) is going for car rides! He loves feeling the wind in his face through an open window (car surfing). Kanga is incredibly observant and curious. Kanga’s comfort with people has grown significantly while in rescue. He does need a little time to build trust, but eventually he will follow you around and give you kisses! He is also quite affectionate and loyal to those he bonds with. Kanga has excellent house manners and is happy to chill on his bed or lay beside you as you work. He has basic training and knows: sit, down, come, get it, stay, and release and is ready for the next level of training. He is very treat motivated and responds well to a clicker. Kanga just needs to know you can be counted on to pay attention to his physical cues when he’s feeling overwhelmed. Kanga would do best in a home setting with a secure yard and would prefer to be your only pet. He might do well with savvy teens as long as they are aware of Kanga’s “dog language” and can give him space when he needs it.  Are you the active, patient, forever home that Kanga is seeking?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 28, 2023, 3:20 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Interested in adopting? See our adoption process. Little Miss SHELBY is a sweetheart with a big smile and a nonstop tail wag!  Based on her size, we expect she is a malamute and husky mix, bringing the best of both breeds.  She knows basic commands, "sit", "down" and "wait" but could use further training.  She is food motivated which will help when teaching her new commands and tricks.  SHELBY is good on the leash and will enjoy joining you on all of your outdoor adventures.  She is a  loving, playful, active girl who generally does well with other dogs once they have established who is boss in the house (hint: it's her!). SHELBY has food allergies that will require a special diet and lifetime of medication.  Therefore, she needs a family that can afford her medications, special food and has the time to administrator them. SHELBY would love for you to open up your home to her and she promises to not steal the couch...well, at least not the whole couch! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Interested in adopting? See our adoption process.   WILLOW is a beautiful malamute that is looking for a home familiar with malamutes and their unique characteristics!  Super smart, she is house trained, does well in the car, and knows a bunch of commands including 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'paw', and 'no'.  Typical of the breed she does not prefer being told 'no' (we feel you Willow!) and will woo at you to let you know it. Working on leash skills and going on adventures will be a priority for her new family.  As smart as she is, we expect she will pick up those skills quickly! Another fun exercise activity for her is running around the yard playing with her stuffed toys.  WILLOW is picky about sharing her space with other dogs so will need to be an only dog.    She enjoys belly rubs, being brushed and giving kisses.  WILLOW  can't wait to meet her new furever family!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 28, 2023, 3:20 pm

Story
Hi! My name is Asher and I’m a 4 year old Akita/Shepherd mix who is looking for his forever family. Asher is currently in a foster home and this is what his foster family has to say about him! I am a sweet, loving and loyal dog. I love to go for long walks or a trail run followed by a good nap. My big, furry, floppy ears are perfect for scratches. I am very affectionate and would love nothing more than to snuggle next to you on the couch. Asher does well on leash and is crate trained. He is a fast learner and has mastered many basic skills. He will thrive in a home that can continue basic obedience with him. He can be mouthy when playing and gets excited easily so a house with children over 12 or is adult only would be best. Asher can do well with other dogs and can sometimes get vocal and over-excited when meeting other dogs for the first time. He would do really well in a home that can continue dog socialization. Group classes with other dogs would be helpful where he can learn some proper doggie play manners. He would be best suited as an only dog or with one other dog around his size with proper intros and an experienced home. He’d also be fine in a home with a feline friend. Asher is neutered, UTD on shots and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500.
