HELLO! I'm Slick Rick! So nice to meet you! I'm a 12 year old Chihuahua mix! 15 lbs. Sensitive, soulful, mostly house broken, and good with dogs but honestly, I think I would really love the solo life. Having a human(s) to myself is a dream. Wanna spend my golden years together? Can't wait to meet you! *please note All of our dogs are in private foster homes. Once you fill out an application it will be screened by our volunteer adoption team. From there, if your application looks like a good fit for the particular dog, it will be sent to the foster where you can ask all the questions you would like and schedule a meet and greet. This litter of cuties was rescued from central California. They were inbound for the local city shelter before our rescue stepped in to help. They were shy, covered in fleas, and in need of some much needed attention. After a few weeks in our care they have come out of their shells and their personalities are beginning to blossom. They are all very sweet, playful and energetic. They are ready to forget about their pasts and move on to a brighter future with a forever family. Starski is a 2 year old male Chiweenie Mix. He is a little guy who loves to roll around on the grass. He is pretty low maintenance, and would thrive in any home as long as he is loved, and getting table scraps is always a bonus. Starski's favorite day time activity is sitting on your feet while you make lunch. Starski came with 9 other dogs named Cobra, Dumpling, Ganta, Milo, Molly, Saki, Soju, Tempura, and Ziti from an overcrowded shelter who asked us to help. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. The Lovejoy Foundation, Inc. does not adopt beyond a 30 mile radius from our headquarters in Inglewood. He has a very sweet and lovable personality, but is a little shy in the beginning. With a little patience he warms up quickly though and is very affectionate. Recently thought he got diagnosed with diabetes and needs two insulin shots a day. He is doing very good with them and can live comfortably with it if properly monitored. He is very quiet and mellow and will make a wonderful addition to a loving person or family.Tom is about 9 years old, neutered, vaccinated had a dental. The were left behind when their drug addicted owner got evicted. He had them tied up in a dark room of the house with our food or water. They were rescued by a kind neighbor who had too many dogs already at her place and couldn't keep them. She contacted us and fortunately space had just opened and we couldn't say no. Simba is very shy and fearful but super sweet and gentle. He will warm up to TLC and loves to be held. He needs a person that will understand his shy personality and can give him a quiet home and patience. He is about 6 years old and weighs about 12 pounds. She was really confused and shy when she first arrived, which is understandable, poor thing had never been away from her family that had her since she was a puppy. She is 10 years old now and has adjusted beautifully and loves it here now. She is really sweet and affectionate but will take her time to get to know a new person. She is housebroken and is a quiet and mellow dog that likes to lay on a dog bed and watch the world go by.
