Story
Molly is a sweet, snuggly 10lb couch potato who is in need of a calm, child free home. We don't really know her age, but we think she's around 9/10 years old.We recently had a baby and unfortunately she cannot settle into our new routines and rhythms and so she has been regressing in terms of her housebroken-ness. She is not aggressive AT ALL towards other animals or to children, but she is very anxious and does not like to be alone. She needs to be an only dog, as other dogs make her nervous. She is fine with cats, but won't attempt to interact with them.She would be ideal for someone who works from home and who enjoys short walks throughout the day. She prefers women, but will warm up to a man with a little extra time.She is leash trained, but she loves to be carried. She likes hiking and running around on the beach, but she's just as happy next to you on the couch.We are sad to rehome her, but after a year of trying to get her used to our child, we think she's be happier elsewhere.

KARLA: Chiweenie Mix • Spayed Female • 2 Years Old • 17 lbs KARLA is a sweet, calm, and gentle little girl with a tender heart and a quiet way of showing how much she cares. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and is not a barker. She is affectionate, well-mannered, and crate-trained, making her an easy and loving companion. At first, Karla may seem a little independent, quietly taking in her surroundings and figuring out that she is finally safe. But as the day goes on, her sweet personality begins to shine. She seeks out companionship, enjoys being close to her people, and loves receiving affection. Once she trusts you, she wants nothing more than to feel loved and know that she belongs. Karla’s story is heartbreaking. She and three other dogs were rescued from the CAC (Canine Care Center) when they were down to their final hours. We were told that a man had brought them there to be euthanized. Their lives were in danger, and they had no way of knowing that someone would come for them. Thankfully, a rescuer stepped in and gave Karla and the other dogs the second chance they desperately needed. Instead of her story ending in a shelter, Karla now has the opportunity to begin a new chapter—a chapter filled with kindness, safety, love, and a family of her own. Karla has already survived the hardest part. Now she is waiting for someone to show her that her life was worth saving. She deserves a forever home where she will never again have to wonder if she is wanted. ZOE: Chiweenie German Pinscher Mix / Spayed Female / 1 Year Old / 15 lbs Zoe is a calm, docile, and independent young girl with a tender heart. Although she can be shy and reserved at first, she is not aggressive. She simply needs a little patience and understanding to feel comfortable with new people. Once she begins to feel safe, she will approach on her own to ask for gentle pets, quietly showing you that she is ready to trust. Beneath her reserved nature is a sweet girl who deserves the opportunity to feel secure and loved. Zoe gets along well with other dogs, is not destructive, and is crate trained. She would thrive in a patient, loving home where she can settle in at her own pace, build confidence, and learn that the world can be a kind and beautiful place. Zoe's story is heartbreaking. After her previous owner, a person experiencing homelessness, passed away, Zoe and her little friend were left without anyone willing to take responsibility for them. Through no fault of their own, these two innocent dogs were facing the terrifying possibility of being surrendered to the Canine and Feline Care Center (CAC) for euthanasia. When the rescuer learned of their desperate situation, they stepped in to save them and give them a second chance at life. Lando is a wonderful chunky Chihuahua mix who is very loving to his person. Aged at about 8 years old, Lando is in perfect health and is a medium energy dog. Lando enjoys the company of other dogs and will play with them on occasion. He is very treat-motivated and barks excitedly when he hears the treat bag. Lando has a very deep bark, not at all like a yappy Chihuahua. He is generally quiet unless he gets excited about going outside or getting a treat. Meet Bo! Bo is a 5-year-old All-American mutt — somewhere between a Corgi and a dachshund, about 30 pounds of pure personality. He’s playful, energetic, and extremely affectionate, and he’s looking for an active person to play with, go on long walks, and maybe hit the dog park together. Bo is a friendly guy, but when he picks you, he is fiercely loyal. He bonds deeply with his person, which means he needs an adopter willing to work with him on feeling secure — he can be protective of the people he loves. His foster parents have seen significant improvement with consistent training and patience, so this is very workable with the right match. Bo would fit best with: •Adults comfortable working with a bonded, loyal dog • A calm, predictable home environment • Someone who loves being active — walks, play, outdoor adventures • Someone ready to commit to ongoing training A few things to know: • In his first weeks home, keep things low-key — no parties or big introductions while he’s settling in. • Bo does well with other dogs in the home. • His protectiveness is tied to his person and responds well to training. He has shown leash aggression, but this is improving with assertive human leadership. Bo is fixed and up to date on vaccines. He does not use pee pads because he knows not to pee or poop inside the house. He is crate-trained. Why he’s worth the wait: Bo is affectionate, playful, funny, cuddly, and happy. He’s had a rough go of it, spending time in a high-kill shelter, and he’s a sensitive soul who just needs someone to commit to him the way he will commit to them.

Story
Brandon is a three-year-old pomchi mix weighing about 10 to 11 pounds. He is small, but overflowing with personality and love. Brandon is fully house trained with a steady potty routine, and is great on a leash: very attentive, responsive, and eager to follow your lead. When meeting new person, Brandon is slow to warm up, and can be reactive. He might growl, bark, or even snap if the person approaches quickly and doesn't give Brandon the time he needs. Brandon initially did this with his foster parents, but they gave him the time he needed to earn his trust. Once he trusts you, he transforms into the sweetest, most affectionate dog you could imagine. His foster dad describes Brandon as "the biggest sweetheart dog I've ever had, no barking, biting, or growling. It took a couple weeks at the start, but now he's very gentle and predictable. He is loving and affectionate, takes all the pets, is ready to fetch his toys at any time, minds his own business, and is able to stay alone in our studio apartment without destructive behavior. Brandon barks for a couple of minutes after we leave the house, but he settles down. He is extremely obedient and attentive, listens to 'go,' 'come,' 'no,' etc, and he learns commands after some pointing or using a firm voice." Brandon is great with other dogs: calm, respectful, and unbothered, even with pushy dogs. On several occasions, when his foster parents have had to travel for work, Brandon was temporarily fostered in another home, where he was great with both their dogs and cats. The best home for Brandon would be one that understands that love with him takes time. He’d thrive with someone patient and compassionate who can let him open up at his own pace. Once he trusts you, probably within a few days, he’ll be your most loyal and loving dog. He’s truly one of a kind. If you’re looking for a dog who will love you deeply once you’ve earned his trust, Brandon is your boy. From his foster dad: "We would adopt him ourselves in a heartbeat if we didn’t have to travel out of the country so much. We love him loads and want nothing more than to see him in a permanent home where he can feel safe, happy, and loved every day."
