Story
Kush is an 8 year old chiweenie. He’s been with us for the past 6 years and has been a great companion and member of our family. He’s also been difficult, with high baseline anxiety and is extremely protective of my wife. He’s bitten me a few times over the years as a result. We recently had a son (who’s now 2 years old) and initially things were going OK with Kush. We had him on Prozac and he was fairly calm with no biting issues or even close calls. He recently stopped eating his food and taking his medication. Per the vet’s guidance, we stopped the medication so he’d start eating again. However, he’s become far more anxious, growling at our son and recently bit him. It’s heartbreaking, but we can no longer have kush in our household given the risks. When my wife isn’t present, he doesn’t seem to present nearly as high levels of anxiety though, as indicated by the times when it’s just been him and I and when he goes to his dog boarder, with whom he’s had absolutely no issues.

Story
Plato is a snuggly home body. He can be reactive to other dogs, especially on leash, and can also be aggressive toward visitors to his home. He has a nervous temperament, but has responded well to training in the past. Unfortunately our family no longer has the bandwidth to manage his behavioral issues with a young toddler and another child on the way.

**Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to NJ for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Dumpling Village! Dumpling Village is a tiny 4-pound chiweenie with a heart that’s much bigger than she is. At just 5 months old, this sweet girl is still learning about the world and taking everything one gentle step at a time. Dumpling is a little shy when she first meets new people, but once she feels safe, her true personality shines. She absolutely loves giving kisses, curling up in your lap, and soaking up all the affection she can get. She’s incredibly sweet and gets along well with other dogs. She is both house-trained and crate-trained, which is pretty impressive for such a young pup! Dumpling is still working on her leash skills and will need a patient adopter willing to help her build confidence and continue learning. Dumpling came to us as part of a large rescue effort after being saved from a hoarding situation with over 30 dogs in one home. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate lap dog who will reward your patience with endless love and kisses, Dumpling Village may be the perfect match. Interested in becoming a forever home for Dumpling? **Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to NJ for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Jasmine Bailey! Tiny paws, big personality! Jasmine Bailey is a 5-month-old chiweenie cutie weighing just 5½ pounds, but don’t let her size fool you—this little lady has plenty of charm. Born on 7/21/25 right at our rescue (her mama arrived pregnant), Jasmine has been surrounded by love since day one. Jasmine is a happy, curious pup who loves to explore and play. She can be a little shy when meeting new people at first, but give her a moment and she’ll warm up with tail wags and sweetness. She gets along well with other dogs and enjoys having furry friends—cats, however, are still a bit too spooky for her taste! This smart girl already knows how to use a potty pad and understands going outside too. She’s still practicing her leash skills, but she’s learning and getting better every day. Jasmine Bailey is looking for a forever family who will keep up her training, cheer her on, and give her lots of love. She’s a tiny bundle of joy ready to wiggle her way into your heart! **Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to NJ for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Sage Bailey! Say hello to Sage Bailey, a 5-month-old chiweenie boy with a sweet face, tiny paws, and a heart full of love! He weighs just 7 pounds and was born on 7/21/25 right here at our rescue after his mom arrived pregnant—so he’s been surrounded by care and kindness since day one. Sage is a gentle, lovable pup who can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he warms up, he’s all tail wags and puppy charm. He does great with other dogs and enjoys having canine buddies to help show him the ropes. Cats, on the other hand, are still a bit too mysterious for this little guy! He’s already doing awesome with potty training—Sage knows how to use a potty pad and understands going outside too. He’s still learning leash manners, but he’s making progress and just needs a patient cheerleader to help build his confidence. Sage does have a stage two heart murmur, which is being monitored and doesn’t slow him down from enjoying puppy life, playtime, and cuddles. Sage Bailey is ready to find a loving forever home that will help him grow, learn, and feel safe. He may be small, but his happy spirit and sweet heart make him truly special! Meet Tyler 2–3 years old | 15 lbs | Arriving in Morristown, NJ on December 28th Tyler is a quiet, gentle pup who has already come a long way — and now he's ready to take the next step toward the loving home he deserves. He was rescued by The Sato Project from a heartbreaking hoarding case in Manatí, Puerto Rico, where he lived in a small home with more than 30 other dogs. After such a tough beginning, Tyler is now healthy and preparing to fly to Morristown, NJ, where he hopes a kind, patient family will be waiting to welcome him. Tyler is shy and timid, especially in new situations, but there’s a softness in him that shines through. With time, consistency, and gentle love, he will begin to trust and show his true personality — a quiet companion who just wants to feel safe. He would do best in a calm, understanding home, possibly with another gentle dog to help guide him. He doesn't need much — just someone who will give him space, patience, and the love he's never truly known. If you're the kind of person who finds beauty in helping a shy dog feel brave, Tyler may be your perfect match. To Adopt: Fill out an application at thesatoproject.org/applicationform. Questions?
