Vida is a 15-year-old, 20-lb Dachshund mix with a gentle spirit, a snowy white face, and a devotion to her people that would make Miss Vida herself proud.This Vida’s ideal day includes naps, snacks, couch cuddles, and following her humans from room to room like the loyal little shadow she is. She’s fully house trained, walks politely on leash, and has low energy, grooming, and exercise needs. She doesn’t love the crate, but she’ll settle if she must—though she’d much rather be tucked in beside you for bedtime snuggles.She gets along with dogs, cats, and respectful children. She has a little bit of resource guarding tendencies and may snap at another dog when they get too close to her treats. Because she whines or barks when left alone or separated, she’ll do best in a home without shared walls. What she wants most is what her namesake taught us all to give: love, kindness, and a place where she can simply belong.Health-wise, Vida is on the cusp of developing Cushing’s Disease. She’s not on medication now, but her adopter will need to monitor symptoms and stay on top of vet care.
