Story
Meet Dolce – the sweet and sassy little princess who's ready to find her forever home! At 4 years old, Dolce is as sweet as her name, with a gentle and affectionate nature that will melt your heart. Whether she’s snuggling under a cozy blanket to escape the chill or enjoying belly rubs, Dolce knows how to live the good life. Though she’s got a calm demeanor, don’t let that fool you – when she’s with her dog pals, she loves to let loose with some zoomies and roughhousing, followed by a well-earned nap. She’s a confident girl who can stand her ground when needed, especially with bigger dogs, but is overall friendly and loves to be around people. Dolce is potty pad trained (and very faithful to them), but she’ll also venture outside if the weather’s just right (no cold, wind, or rain for her!).Dolce’s perfect home would be one where she’s not left alone for long stretches. She’s a loyal companion who wants to be near her humans or, ideally, have a small dog buddy to keep her company. A home with older, dog-savvy kids would be a good fit since she’s mindful of her size and has a bit of a sensitive back. This little lady has no problem showing affection – and she expects the same in return! If you’re ready for a cuddly, gentle soul who knows how to enjoy life at a slower pace, Dolce just might be the perfect match for you. Story
Meet Popcorn Shy sweetheart with a heart of goldPopcorn is a small, low-energy pup who’s come a long way from a rough start in life. At just 10 pounds, this 7-year-old Chihuahua is the perfect size for cozy cuddles—and cuddle he will! Rescued from an abusive situation, Popcorn has spent the past year learning to feel safe and loved, and he’s blossomed into a deeply affectionate and loyal companion.Once Popcorn decides you’re his person, he’s all in—snuggled up beside you on the couch, keeping you company while you work, or happily trotting after you during play. He’s crate trained, house trained, and perfectly content free-roaming while you’re out during the day. He stays calm when left alone and doesn’t have any separation anxiety.Popcorn currently lives with several other dogs and does well with them, though he prefers slow introductions and a bit of space at first. He also loves cats—he’d happily be best friends with a feline buddy. He’s not a high-energy pup: a short walk and a little playtime are plenty for him. He doesn’t chew or dig, only barks when someone passes by the window, and walks nicely on leash. He’s polite and easygoing with guests once he’s had a chance to warm up.Because of his rough beginnings, Popcorn was very sensitive to fast movements and unfamiliar handling when first rescued, and he did react fearfully in those early days. With gentle care, consistency, and trust-building, he hasn’t shown any concerning behaviors in over a year. He just needs a little patience to feel secure.Popcorn would do best in a quieter home with adults or older kids who understand how to give a shy dog the space and kindness he needs to open up. He doesn’t need a yard and is perfectly happy in an apartment. His favorite thing? Being close to you. If you let him, he’ll happily nap on your head just to be near. If you’re looking for a loyal little buddy who will reward your patience with deep, unconditional love, Popcorn just might be your perfect match.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Harlow is a roughly four year old optimist who thinks the ordinary is worth sharing— He is gentle, ridiculously adorable, infectiously joyful, and ready to fall, fully in love with his humans. While a long&#226&#128&#145ago injury left one back leg crooked, so he sometimes hops on three; he does not let it slow him down - whether on a long walk or tippy-tappying for treats. His everyday strengths include:Good roommate: house&#226&#128&#145trained, rarely barks, content(ish) in a crate but happier on the couch.Kid & dog friendly: gentle with babies, adores kids, respectful with other dogs, loves strangers.Adventure scale: Up for long walks, mellow hikes, patio lunches, car rides, dance parties, and extended squirrel&#226&#128&#145watching.Open hearted: He shares his affection freely and without hesitation, whether shadowing you from room-to-room, or tucking his head under your chin for love and comfort.Health note: According to the vet, his crooked leg is more quirk than condition—regular walks and maintaining a healthy weight should keep its future impact on his life to a minimum. If you’ve got a spot in your routine and on your sofa for this absolute sweetheart of 20&#226&#128&#145pound pup - Harlow is eager and ready to move in! Meet Birdie – Your Next Adventure Buddy and Cuddle CompanionBirdie is a 23-lb Chihuahua mix with a zest for life and a heart full of love. She came to CAWS from a high-intake shelter where she was at risk of euthanasia — and she hasn’t stopped showing gratitude for her second chance. This bright, affectionate girl absolutely adores her people. She’ll happily snuggle right into your lap and soak up all the love you have to give. She’s playful, loves toys and chews, and she’s an awesome hiking partner who’s always ready to hit the trails or explore somewhere new. Birdie is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows how to relax and enjoy her time indoors.Like many dogs who’ve had a rough start, Birdie is still learning to feel fully secure in her surroundings. She’s working on a few things and will do best with an adopter who can continue to guide her with patience and consistency:-She gets anxious when left alone and may cry or whine — she feels safest when her people are close by.-She’s very food motivated and sometimes can’t help but go into scavenger mode — mealtime is her favorite part of the day!-She can be a little vocal around other dogs and would thrive as the only pet in the home where she doesn’t have to share her space or snacks.-She’s still learning boundaries with play and may nibble during petting or excitement — not aggressively, just with a little too much enthusiasm.Birdie would love a home where someone is around often and can help her continue building confidence. In return, she’ll be your most loyal and loving companion — one who’s always up for a cuddle session or a spontaneous adventure.Birdie is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi my name is Fauxy, I’m a very handsome 9.5 year old, 11lb. Pomeranian mix. I’m a very easy-going, sweet companion. Some of my favorite things include going for walks, laying in the sun and taking naps. I’m crate trained and house trained as long as I get consistent potty breaks. It does take me some time to be comfortable with new people but, once I’m comfortable I do really well. Because of my age I would be better with older dog say kids. I’m good with other dogs although, I prefer a home without cats. If you re looking for a low-maintenance, sweet companion you can apply to meet me at:  https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 2, 2025, 4:23 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello, my name is Azucar Dolce. I am a Xoloitzcuintli – a rare find in rescue! I weigh in at 21lbs and I am 2 years and 8 months old. I came to Rescue Rovers with my puppies, who have all been adopted. Now it’s my turn! I am a very shy girl. I’ve been in my foster home for 2 months and at this point I am very comfortable here. I know the routine, I love the other dogs, I’m comfortable with the humans. But I am still wary of too much contact. I am looking for a patient, loving home who will give me the time I need to settle in – but who will also help me through that process with a little gentle pressure to interact. Foster mom says I am a “flight risk”. I don’t know anything about flying, but I will tell you that there are things that make me want to run away. Namely…anything that scares me. I didn’t have a lot of human contact before my life here, so I’m still getting used to people. You all are kind of loud and grabby, you know? I mean…you’re nice, so that’s good. But I’m just used to doing my own thing. Anyway, a home with a securely fenced yard is a must for me. I am making good progress, tho! Recently I have begun to allow more of what you call “snuggles”. For me, that means about 2 minutes in your lap before I need to shake that love off. We’re building on that connection. I have also recently begun playing with the other dogs! Being with my pack is my favorite, and I am definitely looking for a home with another dog. I love my crate – it’s so cozy and safe feeling! I’m doing well with potty training, too! Altho, if you’re a nervous girl, you know that sometimes scary things make us dribble just a little.I also love to play with toys and I’m very cute with them. If you think you could be the right family for me, please apply to meet at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 7, 2025, 4:33 pm
