Story
Harvey is a super special senior who is looking for his super special humans. At about 10 years old, Harvey is old enough to know what he likes - eating and napping! - and what he doesn't - being touched unless it's his idea. Harvey can be a nervous guy around big dogs and new people, we haven't seen him around cats and he shouldn't live with children. Harvey comes by his hesitation honestly, he likely lived a life of neglect and finally abandonment before coming to CAWS and didn't get all the love and care a dog should receive. We're dedicated to changing that now! We know Harvey's people are out there - someone who will allow him to climb onto your lap when he's ready for cuddles, and someone who won't hold his tendency to snap when he feels threatened against him. Harvey has Cushing's disease and thyroid issues, and will require lifelong medication and dedicated care. Harvey does bark, so he'd do better in a house than an apartment with shared walls. If you think you have the big heart to give Harvey the life he deserves, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Harvey's adoption fee is $100. Story
Meet Dory! This beautiful and sweet little 10# senior is true to her breed, Dory loves being carried around like the queen she is. She also loves curling up under the covers with her person. She does well with older, respectful children and gets along with cats and other dogs and loves going outside for short walks! Dory truly is a sweetheart and deserves to feel loved and doted on for her remaining, golden years. Dory is great about doing her business outside so long as she is given plenty of opportunities, otherwise she is great about using potty pads. This 10 year old girl is sweet, happy, easy going, and loving. She does come with some common senior ailments that will require continued care and is hoping a family might be willing to continue that care for her, keeping her happy and comfortable! Dory was recently diagnosed with kidney and heart issues that are pretty easy to care for- just some daily meds that she takes easily and prescription diet kibble. Costs for these additional medical items will likely cost around $30-$40 per month and are easily obtained. These meds/prescription kibble will need to be provided to her indefinitely. Dory would be happiest in a calm and easy going home that is stress free and easy to navigate as she is slowing down and has vision in just one eye. Do you have room in your home and heart for this sweet senior gal? Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. ALL CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $100. Story
Murphy is a sweet and special boy who loves his person without reserve! He is a 15ish lb mix of sorts- retriever x chi mix(?) and about 4 years old. Murphy loves his toys and treats, and would love to have a companion that wanted to play fetch with him, as he is a pro! He is leash trained, enjoys walks with his person, and loves to go for rides in the car. He is looking for a home that is active and one that also has a very secure yard. This cute boy is all wiggles and smiles when he is with his beloved person, so someone who is home most of the time is ideal. Murphy also does fine in his secure and safe crate while his person is away and enjoys the safety and retreat that it provides- so this is a must in his adoptive home. Murphy would enjoy another confident and calm dog in his adoptive home to provide him some guidance and companionship, and help him grow in confidence. Murphy is great about going outside to potty in his foster home, and will need patience and initial direction to be successful in his new home. He is great about using the dog door too! He is great on leash and loves to go on walks. Murphy is a one person dog, he prefers women, and sometimes children, but has a consistent dislike/fear of men (unfortunately), visitors and anyone he doesn't know. Potential adopters would need to have a solid understanding of how to handle, approach and keep a scared dog safe during the settling-in period, as Murphy can be a flight risk until he is comfortable and settled. Even when scared (initially) he generally maintains a sweet and gentle demeanor, generally fleeing and playing keep away but will nip anyone not familiar who corners him.. Murphy is fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. His adoption fee is $200. To be considered, please apply online at caws.org. Thanks! Ariel is an 8 year old female Chihuhua mix and she is the sweetest girl. She is bonded with her brother Sebastian, so the two of them are a package deal. Ariel is a tiny little thing, weighing in at 5 pounds. She likes to give kisses and either sit in your lap or right next to you. Story
Hi! I am Sasha..but I probably wont answer to my name because I have grown a bit deaf in my age, so feel free to call me anything! I am a 12 year old 12 pound mix of cuteness and maybe a little chihuahua. I am back in the foster system through no fault of my own as my person recently passed away, but luckily CAWS found me in the shelter and busted me loose. I am now looking for a new beginning! I am mellow, quiet and sleepy. I don't make a peep so I would be great for apartment living! I am just as happy cuddling you as i am cuddling myself on a dog bed. I am pretty good at pottying outside or a pad inside. I am a little timid at first, but once I feel comfortable, I get a little bit of the zoomies. I just had a dental and only have 2 teeth left, but that doesn't stop me from living my best life and I hope I can find someone to live it with. Oh, and I get along with dogs, cats, people... you name it. Please fill out an application if you are interested.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Story
Meet Boo! Boo is a 13lb chihuahua mix rescue. She is exceptionally sweet, playful, spunky, cuddly and intelligent! Unfortunately, my resident cat does not enjoy her company- Boo is very interested in playing with her but unfortunately she would prefer a dog-free home. Boo would do well in a home that has playful cats, other small playful dogs, or big dogs that will allow her to warm up to them as she may be a little shy around bigger friends at first. She is beautifully crate trained (does not make a squeak all night!), harnessed trained and has learned to signal that she needs to go outside by jumping up on the front door or standing by the door and looking back at you. She is an absolute cuddle machine and social with new people pretty quickly. She has been through a couple of different homes and as much as it saddens me to rehome her, she is such a resilient and confident dog, that I am sure she will bring immeasurable joy to whoever is lucky enough to call her theirs.

Story
Say hello to Helsinki! His litter was born on December 24, 2023. Momma was a 15 lb Chihuahua so he is expected to stay small. Denver is very sweet and playful. He loves playing with toys and his foster siblings. He also is doing great with his foster kitty sibling. He is patiently awaiting the chance to bring happiness and love to his future forever family. He is young enough to adjust to any family and any other pets. He exudes a sweetness and playfulness that is truly heartwarming. He is diligently working on his potty training. His playful antics never fail to bring a smile to our faces. Helsinki is being fostered in Scappoose, OR and is available for meet and greets with potential adopters. He has completed his puppy vaccines and is ready to go to his forever home. If you are interested in welcoming one of these precious puppies into your home, please visit our website for more information on the adoption process and to submit an application at www.springbranchrescue.org. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future from a city that has an animal crisis.  We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wondering our streets.  So many have been dumped and cannot find their way home.  Many never even had a home and were born on the streets.  WE gave them a chance.  Every animal deserves a chance.  If we are based in Houston, then how can you see our posts? We have fosters all over the Pacific Northwest allowing us to post in specific cities. We do not have a physical shelter. All of our adoptable pets are living with local foster families which will make the transition into your household a whole lot easier.  We have been doing this since 2019 and very successful.   Please take a look at our adopters reviews https://greatnonprofits.org/org/spring-branch-rescue.   ##1961489##

Story
Rambo is such a good dog and we’ve loved him for years. We are moving to a place that can’t have dogs so we need to find him a good home. He’s potty trained and good with kids. We have lots of little kids in the family who love to snuggle him. He’s an old dog so he loves to snuggle and sleep. We are sad to see him go but hope we can find him a home with a family who loves him as much as we do.

Story
🐾 Meet Prancer! 🐾 Hello! I'm Prancer, and I might be the sweetest dog you'll ever meet. Once I find my forever person or family, I never want to leave their side, showing unwavering loyalty and affection. I'm currently flourishing in my foster home. I'm mastering both potty and crate training and making excellent progress! Although I have cerebellar hypoplasia, which means I wobble a bit when I walk and can seem uncoordinated, it just adds to my unique charm. I may be shy when meeting new people, but I warm up quickly and genuinely enjoy their company once I get to know them. I live with an adored human foster sister, which proves I'm fantastic with kids. My demeanor is calm, sweet, and gentle, and I don't get overwhelmed easily, making me a soothing companion. If you're looking for a loving, loyal friend who will fill your days with joy and your heart with love, I am the dog for you. Prancer is ready to find a loving home where he can continue to thrive and share his gentle spirit. If you can provide the perfect environment for a special dog like Prancer, don't hesitate to reach out and start your journey together! 🐶❤️ Apply here: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/654e6a97aed75bda1d0b4bfe Available for adoption in NV, MT, CO,UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and now the East Coast! Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. Story
Chance is an adorable, super soft, playful, fully potty and crate trained 5 month old puppy! He’s probably mixed with a small breed dog because he is only approx 17 lbs. He loves to cuddle up with his foster mom, go for car rides, and explore the yard. He also loves to play with toys or with other dogs, or follow you around as your pal. See his cute personality here: https://youtu.be/xS4xXo02rb8?si=rmApxcLy1rdV8Uhg One of his siblings had a DNA test done and it came back as mostly Chihuahua and pitbull. We think he will remain small medium size for the rest of his life. He’s the perfect little pocket size. Chance loves to play with toys and with other dogs. He likes to take a bone into his crate and he is very crate trained. Chance is potty trained! He has very good house manners. He will bark in his crate if he really needs to get out to potty. He's not hyper but has a good energy level. He’s willing to spend plenty of time cuddling on the couch. Chance Is very adored in his foster home. He can be somewhat shy when new people come over, but he does warm up quickly. Especially if there are treats involved! He does not live with any cats currently, but we could picture him being fine with them. He has a super soft coat, and he seems to be very healthy. He is fully vetted, microchipped, vaccinated, and neutered! We could see him in apartment life or condo life if still given ample opportunity to explore and meet new people and stay socialized.
