Story
Current Location: Germantown, MD Meet Bernie Bernie is an incredibly sweet, easygoing boy who believes life should move at a calm and comfortable pace. He is happiest stretched out in a cozy bed or curled up beside his person, enjoying a long, peaceful nap. He loves being near his people, enjoys being held, and offers quiet companionship without being demanding. Energy and Personality Bernie is truly a low energy dog. He prefers lounging and gentle moments over busy activity. Short walks and a little playtime with his favorite toys are just right for him, and then he is content to settle back down. He thrives in calm, predictable environments and does best when life feels steady and relaxed. Training and Behavior Bernie is house trained, crate trained, and doing very well with leash training. He continues to improve on walks and now only occasionally barks at sudden noises outside. He has shown how adaptable and eager to learn he is when given gentle guidance. He knows basic cues including come, stay, and no, and understands his crate routine well. Bernie truly wants to do the right thing and responds beautifully to structure and consistency. Social Life Bernie enjoys being near his people but is not clingy. He is comfortable spending time on his own and settles easily when left alone. He prefers quiet companionship and gentle affection rather than constant activity. Best Home Fit Bernie will thrive in a quiet, low traffic home with someone who appreciates a relaxed, easygoing dog. He is perfect for a person or couple who enjoys peaceful evenings, slow walks, and cozy time at home. A household that respects his space and values calm energy will help him feel safe and confident. Bernie is ready to offer his gentle heart, steady presence, and loyal companionship to the right home.

Story
Rosie is the definition of a chill companion, a 7 yr old chihuahua daschound mix. This laid-back little lady has truly mastered the art of relaxation. her happy place is curled up in her bed, watching the world go by and keeping a calm, quiet eye on her people. She's not asking for much, just to be near you. Move to another room? She'll follow, find a cozy spot, and settle right back in. Low-key and loving, Rosie is wonderfully easy to live with. She's house trained, pad trained, and walks nicely on a leash. She doesn't demand a lot of attention or activity, but she genuinely enjoys being in your company and will happily engage in some gentle play when the mood strikes. For the most part though, she's perfectly content to simply exist alongside you in peaceful, quiet comfort. When it comes to new dogs or people, Rosie takes a sensible approach. She may offer a quick bark while she sizes things up, then she settles right down like "Ok, I'm good" and goes about her business. No drama, no fuss. She's been pretty indifferent to other dogs overall, and while her experience with children is limited, she's shown no aggression and quickly relaxed when she's encountered them. Rosie has no history of separation anxiety, no aggression, and no bite history. She is, by all accounts, simply a very easy, very sweet girl. One thing to note is that Rosie is currently working on getting back to her ideal weight, so a home that can support some mindful feeding habits would be wonderful for her. Rosie would thrive in a calm, quieter home where someone appreciates a low-energy, undemanding companion who just wants to be in the same room as you. No chaos required, just a comfy bed, a kind person, and maybe a sunny spot to watch the world from.

Story
Current Location: Brunswick, MD Meet Albert Albert is a tiny Chihuahua mix with a charming underbite and the cutest little snaggle tooth smile. He is calm, attentive, and one very good little boy. We believe he may be older than ten, though that is just our best guess. What we do know is that he has a gentle, steady presence and bonds quickly to his person. Personality Albert does not bark much. He prefers to observe and stay close. Once he chooses you, he follows you from room to room, then settles peacefully when you sit down. His favorite place in the world is under a blanket. When he is ready for bed, he will politely ask you to lift the covers so he can burrow underneath. He sleeps pressed against your leg with his head resting on it. It is his safe place. He mimics other dogs and learns routines by watching. After seeing the household welcome home routine a few times, he joined right in. He is great with small dogs and has no food aggression. He simply loves to eat and enjoys mealtime. Training and Manners Albert consistently poops outside and will sit by a door to let you know he needs to go out. Sometimes it is any door, even a closet door, but he is trying to communicate. He does not yet understand peeing outside and will need diapers and continued guidance. He has poor eyesight and hearing, which likely plays a role. Because of this, he relies heavily on routine and closeness to feel secure. He loves his leash and enjoys walks, staying attentive and happy by your side. Best Home Albert would do best in a calm home that appreciates a quiet companion. Someone patient with his potty routine and mindful of his limited vision and hearing will help him thrive. If you are looking for a sweet, devoted little shadow who will burrow under your blanket and rest his head on your leg every night, Albert is ready to claim his spot beside you.
