Story
Meet Bob!Bob is 1year old, neutered, and fully vetted Chihuahua mix. Bob is a lover at heart and the BEST snuggle-bug! He craves human connection and affection, although initially he is scared of people and needs time to trust and feel safe. Once he learns that he is safe, he wants to be your shadow! Nights will never be lonely again with Bob by your side! He’s dog friendly, but LOVES his human more. Bob is house trained with frequent visits outside and crate trained, but he’d rather stay with you.At a teeny 8lbs, Bob would make a great addition to an adults only household willing to let him decompress for a few days, as he gets to know you and your routine. As a timid Chihuahua, he’ll need a day or two to adjust and someone who is patient enough to allow Bob to come to them. After that he’s the best little companion. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquires but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Meet Paxton!Paxton is a 2 year-old Chihuahua mix rescue from a hoarding case. He’s is slowly learning to trust people. He is actually very active when outside playing with some of the other rescue pups. He is a bit shy and timid but you can feel him relax a bit when you pick him up and hold him. Could be a good fit for a home as an only dog or a home with a couple smaller dogs to play with. He hasn’t show aggression to kids or adults just timidness. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Portland!Portland is a one and a half year old, 12 pound Chihuahua mix with a tender heart and a quiet, observant nature. Rescued from a hoarding situation with many other small dogs, she is still learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and part of a family. Portland enjoys simple comforts — spending time in a secure yard, relaxing on a soft blanket, and playing with toys (especially the ones she can expertly de squeak). She is heartworm negative, vaccinated, spayed, crate trained, and making steady progress with house training while reliably using puppy pads.Because of her past, Portland is very shy and can become easily overwhelmed or feel unsure. In those moments, she can show fear based reactivity, which is her way of communicating that she needs more space and time to feel safe. With slow introductions, gentle handling, and predictable routines, she begins to relax and let her sweet personality emerge.Portland will thrive in a patient, quiet home that understands fearful dogs and is willing to let her build trust at her own pace. A confident, friendly companion dog would be especially helpful in showing her the world is safe and supporting her as she continues to blossom into the happy, trusting little dog she’s meant to be.To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquires but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
