Story
Meet Bob!Bob is 1year old, neutered, and fully vetted Chihuahua mix. Bob is a lover at heart and the BEST snuggle-bug! He craves human connection and affection, although initially he is scared of people and needs time to trust and feel safe. Once he learns that he is safe, he wants to be your shadow! Nights will never be lonely again with Bob by your side! He’s dog friendly, but LOVES his human more. Bob is house trained with frequent visits outside and crate trained, but he’d rather stay with you.At a teeny 8lbs, Bob would make a great addition to an adults only household willing to let him decompress for a few days, as he gets to know you and your routine. As a timid Chihuahua, he’ll need a day or two to adjust and someone who is patient enough to allow Bob to come to them. After that he’s the best little companion. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. Story
Meet Tinker!Tinker is a senior female Chihuahua mix, who along with her sister (Wendy), found herself homeless after her owner passed away. It is obvious, that both she and her sister were well loved. Tinker is sweet as pie and ready to find a new loving home to spend her senior years. Tinker loves adventure and cuddles. She is very social and loves being around other animals, especially dogs. She’s happy to go to the barn and is not fearful of anything! She is housebroken and crate trained and will “kennel up” when asked. She has learned the dog door at her foster`s very quickly. She is an easy keeper and sweet as can be! She gets along with kids, but prefers older children. She has not shown any aggressive behaviors whatsoever. Per her foster. Tinker has been one of their easiest fosters yet! She is spayed and up-to-date on shots. She and her sister, Wendy, would love to find a home together or they can be separated! Tinker just needs a new home where she can be loved! To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Owen!Owen is an adorable 12-year-old male long haired Chihuahua mix who is blind and deaf, but that doesn`t stop him from enjoying life. Owen does have a 2/6 heart murmur, that does not require any treatment. It is just checked at his yearly vet exams. Owen has accidents when it comes to pottying, so use of a belly band would be appropriate, when inside. He’s gentle, loving, and hoping to find a forever home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by kindness and care. Because of his impairments, he can be a little skittish at times and does best with a calm, patient approach. Senior dogs like Owen are truly special—full of gratitude, wisdom, and so much love to give.To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Clementine!Clementine is a beautiful 1-year-old tan and white Chihuahua mix, weighing around 10–12 pounds. Born into a hoarding situation, Clementine initially didn’t know the touch of a gentle hand or the feel of grass beneath her paws. Today, she is blossoming with patience, love, and consistent care. This sweet, long-legged girl adores other animals and would likely do well with cats after slow introductions. She has been working with a behaviorist and is learning to trust people and navigate the world with confidence. Clementine follows her foster around the house, takes treats gently from hands, and has begun to join the family on the couch in the evenings. While she is still wary of being petted or held, she is making steady progress and responds beautifully to calm, consistent reinforcement.Clementine uses a doggy door to go potty and enjoys playing chase outside with other dogs. At night, she uses a pee pad and prefers to eat in a quiet space, which helps her feel safe and comfortable. She thrives in a calm, quiet home and would do best with someone who has the time and patience to help her continue to grow, forming strong bonds and confidence along the way.Clementine is a shy, precious pup with so much love to give. She is still cautious around new people, especially men, so a family dedicated to her ongoing growth will allow her true personality to shine. With the right home and guidance, Clementine will continue to thrive and blossom into the confident, loving dog she is meant to be.To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet DarcyDarcy is a 20-pound bundle of spunk, sass, and pure joy! At around 2 years old, this small mixed-breed sweetheart has already done the hard part — raising her babies (who are all in their forever homes!) — and now it’s finally her turn to be someone’s baby. When Darcy first came to rescue, she was heartworm positive, but she bravely completed treatment and is now heartworm-free and thriving. She’s spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready for her fresh start.Darcy is full of personality and loves to run and play in the backyard with her toys. She does great with other dogs and would enjoy a playful companion, but she’s also okay being an only dog if she gets plenty of attention. She’s potty trained with frequent trips outside and is learning that leash walks and the crate aren’t so scary — she just needs a little patience and consistency. She can be a bit vocal when she gets excited (she definitely has opinions), so she would likely do best in a home rather than an apartment.Fun, loyal, spirited, and resilient — Darcy is ready to leave her mama days behind and step into a life where she’s spoiled, loved, and cherished. If you’re looking for a bright, lively companion to fill your home with personality, Darcy might just be your perfect matchTo set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. Minerva is a sweetheart. She is 7 months old, she is in the process of being being potty trained but she knows basic commands i.e. sit, down, and drop it. I've just had a complicated surgery and I have two more that I will need. She deserves a happy home with a family that can give her attention and joy and we can't be that for her right now. She is very smart and love to cuddle and to be held. We have all shot records, a crate, and a play pen.
