Story
Meet Bob!Bob is 1year old, neutered, and fully vetted Chihuahua mix. Bob is a lover at heart and the BEST snuggle-bug! He craves human connection and affection, although initially he is scared of people and needs time to trust and feel safe. Once he learns that he is safe, he wants to be your shadow! Nights will never be lonely again with Bob by your side! He’s dog friendly, but LOVES his human more. Bob is house trained with frequent visits outside and crate trained, but he’d rather stay with you.At a teeny 8lbs, Bob would make a great addition to an adults only household willing to let him decompress for a few days, as he gets to know you and your routine. As a timid Chihuahua, he’ll need a day or two to adjust and someone who is patient enough to allow Bob to come to them. After that he’s the best little companion. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquires but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Meet Pontoon!Pontoon is a three-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua mix with a gentle soul. He came to us from a hoarding situation, where he lived in a trailer with many other small dogs, and he’s now discovering what it means to feel safe and loved. Pontoon is heartworm-negative, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and crate trained. He’s still polishing his house-training skills, but he’s making great progress. Quiet and shy at first, Pontoon blossoms once he’s comfortable—and then his true nature shines as a total snuggle bug who loves calm companionship. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. Meet Slaw!Slaw is a sweet 10 week old male Chihuahua mix and `Oh my goodness!` This little guy loves cuddles and will fall asleep on your lap. Slaw will be the loyal companion and will stay by your side.He is doing great with potty training and crate training. Although, he would prefer being under the covers with you than in his crate. Slaw is a true snuggle bug! Slaw is wonderful with kids. He has a ton of love to give…Slaw has been neutered and has started his puppy series of vaccines. Slaw would be wonderful as an apartment pup and would be fine as the only pup in the home or a member of an existing pack. If you are looking for a snuggly companion with lots of love to share than come and meet Slaw, he could be the perfect pup for you!To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Clementine!Clementine is a beautiful, sweet long legged tan and white chihuahua mix, around 10-12 pounds. She was born into a hoarding situation. When she came to us at around 1-1 1/2 hears of age, she was terrified of everything. Likely never knowing the touch of a loving hand or the grass under her feet. She loves other animals, and would likely be fine with cats also because of her sweet nature. Clementine has worked with a behaviorist and is working on learning to be the pet that she wants to be. She also takes lots of cues from other animals in the home. While she is still learning to trust, she has made great strides. Her foster mom said, Clementine loves to follow me around, often so closely I can feel her nose on the back of my leg. Her first instinct is still to hide when you walk into the room, but then she slowly comes out. She often takes treats from my hand. On her own, she has started to come out into the den and sit on the couch with the family in the evenings with the other pets, which is huge for her. She is figuring out that she does like to be petted and loved on. She is also learning to be picked up, which you still need to keep working on. Clementine has learned how to use the doggy door to go potty and loves playing chase outside with the other dogs. At night she stays in the bathroom and she uses a pee pad.Clementine would prefer a family that has a fairly quiet home without lots of different people coming and going. An apartment may not be best because she does bark at times. It takes her a minute to warm up to other animals, but then she is fine. She is mostly just scared, not aggressive at all. She needs someone who has time to keep reinforcing good behavior. Even keeping her on a leash in the beginning to keep her engaged and help her to form bonds with her family and not just hide away. She prefers to eat in a room by herself, not because of aggression at all, but it just makes her more comfortable (we put her in the laundry room for 2-3 minutes and she scarfs her food down). If you are considering Clementine, know that she is sweet and precious, but scared, especially of new places and people, especially men. It is important to have someone that will work with her so she can grow further, so she doesn’t slide back into old habits. She is so worth it. It has been a joy to see her blossom and she will continue to grow with the right family and environment. Do you have the time and love it requir

Story
Meet Parker!Parker is a sweet 4 month old Chihuahua mix with a gentle heart and the cutest little personality, who is still learning that the world is a safe and loving place. This gentle boy came into foster care very shy, but with time, patience, and a calm environment, he’s slowly beginning to open up — and it’s been wonderful to watch his personality emerge. He is a quiet, thoughtful little guy who prefers to observe from a distance until he feels comfortable. He’s still too shy to come up for pets, but he`s getting braver every day. Once Parker trusts you, you can see the spark of playfulness start to show! He loves running around the yard doing zoomies and showing off his happy, silly side. He does the silliest little hops—just like a bunny—which are guaranteed to make you smile. He especially enjoys playing with other dogs and would do great in a home with a friendly canine companion to help show him the ropes. He is also a sock thief — he loves to gather socks and bits of clothing and gently carry them back to his kennel like treasured souvenirs. It’s part of his comfort routine and just adds to his charm.Parker will thrive in a patient, low-pressure, loving home with another friendly dog who can show him the ropes and let him move at his own speed and celebrate his progress. He’s not ready for a lot of handling yet, but with time and trust, kindness and a few playful zoomies, this sweet boy is sure to blossom into a loving, loyal wonderful companion.Parker is a quiet soul with a big heart. Watching him learn to trust, play, and enjoy life is incredibly rewarding. If you’re looking for a gentle dog who just needs someone to believe in him, Parker is ready to start that journey with you.To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. Meet Spencer! (formerly Muñeco, but he’s answered to “good boy” his whole life ??)Spencer is a one-year-old male white long coat Chihuahua mix with a charming black spot and an even more charming personality. He’s a certified cuddle bug—and yes, he hugs back. Kisses are kind of his love language, so be prepared for lots of affection. He’s a social butterfly who gets along great with other dogs, babies, and humans of all kinds. Spencer settled right into his foster home and quickly learned the routine—he’s house-trained, does his business outside, and only has the occasional excited oops (hey, life is exciting!).This sweet boy is super submissive, gentle, and playful, with a bark that stays on the moderate-to-low setting. He’s the kind of dog who can happily match your vibe: couch potato by day, running partner by request. Basically, he’s flexible—your lifestyle, his tail wag.Spencer eats well and has good manners (he even tolerated haircuts and nail trims like a champ!), though dairy is a no-go for him—his tummy says “no thank you.” He loves curling up in his bed for cozy naps and prefers affection over spray bottles (water mist = not his thing). If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly, adaptable best friend who’s equal parts playful pal and loving lap dog, Spencer is ready to spot himself right into your heart. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. Story
Please Read everything before you show that you are interested. We found him as a baby and have cared for him, but he needs a home where he is treated well and cared for. He’s has had his basic shots for the past two years, i have paid about a hundred each time, nothing fancy. Also he is not used to potty inside but will let you know when he needs to go outside and take care of business. If you expect more from a free dog. Go to a fancy place. Milo is full of energy and healthy, but I would rather that he goes to a person who needs a good companion. My kids don’t care for him anymore. Thats the main reason I am giving him up. he is a little over two years old. Playful and curious.
