Barkley, the Chow Chow is a dignified and independent canine companion, a true embodiment of his ancient breed. With a thick, lion-like mane and a characteristic blue-black tongue, Barkley carries an air of quiet self-possession.
He's not your typical tail-wagging, effusive greeter. Barkley is aloof, preferring to observe the world from a respectful distance. Earning his trust is a gradual process, but once you do, his loyalty is unwavering. Don't expect slobbery kisses or enthusiastic cuddles; Barkley expresses his affection in subtle ways. He isn't fond of being petted or touched excessively, a common trait of Chows. Instead, he demonstrates his bond by simply being near, often choosing a prime spot in the same room where his people are, silently enjoying the shared space.
