Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi I'm Xena!  I'm a beautiful lady who came here from a shelter in Arkansas.  My former owners were seen dumping me by a river and driving away leaving me alone.  Could it be because I had cherry eye?  I don't know, but that was fixed and my eyes look great!   So let me tell you about myself!  I can be a bit unsure when first meeting new people, but give me a little time and I warm up and I'm all smiles and body wiggles!  I have an adorable prance too because I know I'm just that gorgeous!  I love toys and balls and will happily entertain myself with them.  I also enjoy chewing on bones.  When I'm not playing I will lay at my foster moms feet by her desk while she works.  I'm always available if she needs to take a break and give me pets and ear scratches.  I've met the kitties here and I didn't really care about them, even though one of them gave me a swat in the face.  It was uncalled for so I just walked away.  Mom gave me lots of praise for that and I really liked it!  I haven't met any of those little humans called kids, but I'm usually pretty chill so I don't think I'd mind them.  I do well with the dogs in my foster home, but I do prefer calmer ones.  I'd be happy being your only dog too!  I should also tell you I love food and treats.  I don't like to share them with my doggie friends though so I do need to eat separately.  It's ok because I'm perfectly happy eating in my kennel.  I'm doing good with kennel and potty training.  I sometimes protest a bit when going in so shared walls might not be best for me.  Now it's time for me to find my true family who will love me forever and I hope it can be with you Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. *hair blowing in the wind (even though she's indoors)* *unexplained sparkles in the air* *faint heavenly music* Yes, she is me. Chloe. Now that you are blinded by my beauty, let me explain why I am the absolute best girl on the inside too and so deserving of your (and everyone's) undivided adoration. I'm loyal, smart as a whip, and FUN, just to name a few. Unfortunately, I didn't come from the most glamorous beginnings. I was an outdoor doggy with not much interaction from birth and my family also left me behind when they moved. Thus, I wasn't really brought up interacting with you humans or being touched/handled. I've had my quirks while adjusting to being a family dog and will definitely need someone patient and understanding with me. (If you get too touchy right away, I don't like that and will try to protect myself.) However, if you are slow and gain my trust I will HANG on your every move. I have adjusted very quickly in the past with proper introductions to people. Even still, I would probably do best in a home without young children. I'm a lady after all and need time to sniff you out before you get grabby. I am an active girl and love to feel the wind in my hair outdoors too. I run with the speed of light and have a prey drive to sniff out bugs, lizards and more. I also love to play tug of war and fetch with my foster mommy inside. I bounce, bounce, bounce all the time! I am great on leash so walks and hikes would be great for me. Getting my energy out will help me focus on training too. I am very smart and learn quickly, but tend to lose interest if I'm still chock full of go, go, go!! With all of this perfection, all of your pet needs should be fulfilled, right? RIGHT? I hope so because I would do great as an only pet in the home. I have been able to co-exist with dogs at the rescue but I am a bit of a diva in my foster home. I have a domineering personality sometimes and will even mark like a male when I come across another dog's scent in my house. How dare they??? Existing? HERE? (She is otherwise house trained.) Considering that you and I know each other a little better now, you may pet me. Yes, I am very soft, I know. Please keep in mind that I am a Chow/shepherd mix and have hair that will require brushing, maybe even the occasional spa treatment, Swedish massage, 24k gold facials...yeahhhhhhhhhh.... Sorry! I forgot you were here. In all seriousness, once I trust you, I will allow you to brush me out without much fuss. It doesn't need to be daily but I am a rough and tumble kinda gal and can use help keeping my locks flowing and free. I also shed so if I seem to be losing my girlish figure, it's probably just extra hair that needs to be brushed off. I hope you have a strong vacuum. ;) I could go on for days about myself, but I'll stop here. Don't wanna overwhelm you. TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY Do you see my tongue?? I mean, it looks almost ELECTRIC blue!! That is how you know I am a real chow boy, well, that and my chow 'tude!! I know that so so many people love love my breed, and the rescue people are excited to find my forever family!! They will have to be very chow knowledgeable because not only am I a chow, I am a pup who was found scared and starving in the cold and rain. And I am slow to warm to new people. So, I have learned to trust people since the rescue people take such great care of me, and I definitely need to meet my new family before we go on our merry way :) I have a gorgeous black coat, a gorgeous black tongue and am ready for adoption!! Hooti can't seem to stop havin' a hoot! This puppy is having the time of her life right now and can't wait to be adopted by a loving, caring, and fun-having family! Hooti was rescued by a very nice foster and is currently learning how to be the best puppy ever. She's working on crate and house training and doing okay in both. Hooti tends to be a screamer when she's in the crate and knows your about to let her out. Hooti tends to sleep through the night but might need a potty break. Hooti is your typical puppy who loves to play and chews on things, she loves playing hard with other dogs but might be a bit too much with littles and seniors. She tends to chase cats. Ludwig is a very unique pup with his fluffy black/chocolate-brown coat, floppy Chow Chow fur, and sweet demeanor. He is ALL CHOW!! This beloved breed is a clean and very smart dog, Ludwig has been through the wringer but has come out on the other side and is ready for his FUR-ever home! Chows are so clean and happy (but if you look at his pics, he LOVES the rain and maybe a little mud!) he will be a pup that needs a regular grooming appt with in between "emergency" appointments, lol. You must know the breed to adopt him, he is a total sweetheart who will steal your heart. He is greet with other dogs and likely would prefer to be in home with a buddy. He can give a warning to other dogs near his food bowl, but nothing more than that. When you adopt Ludwig, YOU will be the lucky one! But you better hurry!!
