Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. My name is Zarla! I am a sweetheart once I get to you, but that may take some time as I can be a very shy girl at first. I am currently working on my stranger danger skills. I love to be outside all the time, even during a snow blizzard, no issue for me. I came from TX and love it in MN. This weather is my thing it's like my fur was meant for this climate.  I currently am residing in a foster home with 3 dogs and lots of cats, and I LOVE them all! The chickens are a highlight of my day when I get to go collect eggs with my foster parents. I eat next to my foster brothers but get food protective and lay down over my dish. My foster parents say I am a true princess. I am still working on my potty training, but if you could let me know why the cats can go inside that would be great. Sometimes I have accidents when I'm excited, like when I get let out of my kennel I squill and pee in excitement. I would do well in a home with other dogs as I love having a buddy to play with and show me the ropes on life.  Zarla is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.* If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 12, 2025, 12:05 am

Story
Location: Forest Lake, MN Jasmine is such a sweet pup! She loves to be pet and she would rather play with her people than with the puppies if given a choice. She has a high energy level when she is playing, running and jumping as she goes. Jasmine is an independent puppy as well and is just as content to curl up by herself when she wants to. She likes to have a chew toy to work on. Jasmine will go outside with her siblings but doesn't seem to like the cold as much and will be the first to want to come back in. She is good with kids and doesn't seem to notice the cats at all. Jasmine is still working on potty training and will use the pads most of the time. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

Story
Location: Forest Lake, MN Viola is a teddy bear! She is both affectionate and playful. Viola loves lap snuggles and she also loves to play. She seeks out playtime with puppies and people alike and she will play for a long time and has a moderate energy level. Viola is doing well with potty training. She uses the puppy pads almost all of the time and will go outside as well. She is just very recently getting outside but seems to love it and does not seem to be bothered by the cold which is understandable given her thick coat. Viola is good with my kids and doesn't seem to mind the cats and watches them as they go by sometimes saying hello. She has found her voice and will use it to tell you when she wants something. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Champlin, MN Orchid- she is all sassy! Has a hilarious personality and very playful. She’s very talkative and has major FOMO. She wants to be where the action is. She just wants to lick your face. She loves baths but doesn’t like leaving the warm water and will shake from the chill. She is good with other dogs, but isn't house trained she does go into her crate well. She plays well and does ok with kids (youngest is 8 years old). She is not afraid to bite and nip right now so super young kids will need to be well watched until she is trained. She is smart and will do well with someone who will take the time to train her. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey, I’m Oso! I’m a 1-year-old Chow Chow weighing in at 38 pounds of pure, lovable personality. I’m not your typical “cuddle on the couch” kind of guy—I prefer to lay on the floor, near you (but not too close). I’m a chill dude who likes affection, but I’m more of a “pet me and let me explore the world” kind of pup. I’m also super friendly, but I need a proper introduction to new people—once we’re friends, I’m all in! I’m a pretty easy-going guy, except for one little thing—I love being outside. If I’m outside, you’ll have to work a little to get me back inside. (Chasing me around the yard? Oh yeah, it’s a game!) But honestly, a little exercise is all I need to settle down. Sometimes I get the “crazy eyes” in the morning, and I just need to burn off some energy—don’t worry, I’m easy to calm down with a good walk or play session. Speaking of play, I’m a big fan of chewing bones, playing with toys, and chasing sticks or balls for a little while. I do tend to play rough, so if I’m going to live with another dog, they should be my size or bigger. I’m totally treat-motivated (who isn’t, right?), so training me is a breeze. I already know “sit,” “down,” “wait,” and I’ll even shake for treats! I’m also really polite at meal times, waiting for the okay before I dig in. I’m great with people, but I’m probably best suited for a home with kids over 10 because I can get a bit excited running around (I might knock them over, but not on purpose, I swear!). I’m potty trained and have never had an accident in the house—ever! I do bark a bit when new people come over or if I’m in my kennel, but I settle down quickly. I’m not a fan of cats—let’s just say, I have a bit of a high prey drive and like to chase them. But I’m great with dogs my size or bigger, and I’d love a playmate if you have one! I’m also pretty low-maintenance in terms of crate training; I’ll bark a little at first, but I settle down fast. No destructive behavior here—I’m a good boy and love to keep things nice and tidy. So if you're looking for a smart, strong-willed, and playful pup who loves the outdoors, is great with treats, and wants to keep your yard free of squirrels and rabbits, I’m your guy! I’m easy-going, ride well in the car, and I’ll sleep soundly by your bed all night. What more could you ask for? *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs.
