Story
Muffy came into my life after her previous owner passed, and she’s proven to be one of the sweetest, smartest dogs I’ve ever known. While she’s shy at first, this loyal girl becomes a total lovebug once she trusts you. She’s very well-behaved, masters tricks like “spin” and “high-five,” and adores daily walks or hikes. Muffy would thrive in calm, quiet home with 1-2 adults who understand her cautious nature. She’d do best in a home without cats or small children. She could enjoy a home with another friendly dog if it is the right fit (she can be particular about other dogs but there are some that she really loves). A securely fenced yard is a must, as she loves being outside. Muffy’s heart is full of love; she just needs the right person to give her time and space to share it. If you’re ready for a loyal companion who’ll repay your patience with endless devotion, Muffy is your girl.

Story
Skeeter was a little unsure of his situation when he first arrived to the shelter but has since come out of his shell and is a happy guy! True to his breed/s Skeeter can be a little aloof with new people but does eventually accept them (especially if they have food!) He is around a year old, so he is still learning. He does not really know any commands but has been working on `sit`. Skeeter had no interest in the cats here at the shelter, but a slow, supervised introduction is recommended for cats in the home. Skeeter did test positive for Lyme and is currently undergoing treatment for it and is doing well. Skeeter must meet all family members that reside in the home, and a knowledge of his breed/s would be best. He has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/Lyme tested, and microchipped since his arrival at the shelter.Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter5051 Letterkenny Road WestChambersburg, PA 17201Kennel License#2090To adopt: https://cvas-pets.org/

Story
Midnight, a common name for a common black dog....but what about me?? AM I COMMON??? NOPE! I am the lion of dog breeds :) Nothing normal or common about me! Not my beautiful mane OR my beautiful chow chow personality! So I was found in a park, abandoned with my "friends" after my owner died :( LUCKILY i found a rescue who not only LOVES the breed, but also has helped me get healthy (think heartworms and bad skin) but also will find me exactly the right family! (HOPEFULLY in a colder climate!!) I am not a puppy and since I am a single dog home I really would do best without young children or unpredictable adults :) I am a magnificent breed but we are a little picky about our friends and need someone who KNOWS and LOVES my breed.. I am ready for you if you are ready for me.... put in the adoption application!! Local adoption fee is $300 (in TX) OUt of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
*hair blowing in the wind (even though she's indoors)* *unexplained sparkles in the air* *faint heavenly music* Yes, she is me. Chloe. Now that you are blinded by my beauty, let me explain why I am the absolute best girl on the inside too and so deserving of your (and everyone's) undivided adoration. I'm loyal, smart as a whip, and FUN, just to name a few. Unfortunately, I didn't come from the most glamorous beginnings. I was an outdoor doggy with not much interaction from birth and my family also left me behind when they moved. Thus, I wasn't really brought up interacting with you humans or being touched/handled. I've had my quirks while adjusting to being a family dog and will definitely need someone patient and understanding with me. (If you get too touchy right away, I don't like that and will try to protect myself.) However, if you are slow and gain my trust I will HANG on your every move. I have adjusted very quickly in the past with proper introductions to people. Even still, I would probably do best in a home without young children. I'm a lady after all and need time to sniff you out before you get grabby. I am an active girl and love to feel the wind in my hair outdoors too. I run with the speed of light and have a prey drive to sniff out bugs, lizards and more. I also love to play tug of war and fetch with my foster mommy inside. I bounce, bounce, bounce all the time! I am great on leash so walks and hikes would be great for me. Getting my energy out will help me focus on training too. I am very smart and learn quickly, but tend to lose interest if I'm still chock full of go, go, go!! With all of this perfection, all of your pet needs should be fulfilled, right? RIGHT? I hope so because I would do great as an only pet in the home. I have been able to co-exist with dogs at the rescue but I am a bit of a diva in my foster home. I have a domineering personality sometimes and will even mark like a male when I come across another dog's scent in my house. How dare they??? Existing? HERE? (She is otherwise house trained.) Considering that you and I know each other a little better now, you may pet me. Yes, I am very soft, I know. Please keep in mind that I am a Chow/shepherd mix and have hair that will require brushing, maybe even the occasional spa treatment, Swedish massage, 24k gold facials...yeahhhhhhhhhh.... Sorry! I forgot you were here. In all seriousness, once I trust you, I will allow you to brush me out without much fuss. It doesn't need to be daily but I am a rough and tumble kinda gal and can use help keeping my locks flowing and free. I also shed so if I seem to be losing my girlish figure, it's probably just extra hair that needs to be brushed off. I hope you have a strong vacuum. ;) I could go on for days about myself, but I'll stop here. Don't wanna overwhelm you. If you think you are up for the challenge of a total spitfire like me, please feel free to send in an application and foster mommy can tell you more about all of the grandeur that is...CHLOE. Local adoption fee is $300 (in TX)

Story
Marge is the kind of girl who may take a minute to warm up, but once she does, she wants to be right where her people are. She’s still a shy little thing, but she’s making great progress and her sweet personality shines through more every day. She absolutely loves to eat, has started getting playful with the dogs in her foster home, and would do great in a home with other friendly dogs to help show her the ropes. She’s also seen cats in the neighborhood and couldn’t care less about them. Marge walks beautifully on a leash and will happily stroll right beside you like she’s been doing it forever. She’s doing really well with house training, uses the doggy door, and has earned the trust of her foster family when left loose in the home. Crates are not her thing and she made that opinion very clear, so her foster stopped trying. Thankfully, she’s been a perfect lady in the house and hasn’t shown any destructive habits. One of her cutest little quirks is the way she cocks her head when you talk to her like she’s hanging on every word. Marge is a gentle, sweet girl who just needs a family willing to give her a little patience and a lot of love. Once she knows she’s safe, she’ll be your quiet little shadow. $300 adoption fee covers spay, vaccines, parasite prevention, and microchip. Apply at FullCircleRescueandSanctuary.com

House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Khloe is a 7-year-old Chow Chow, Lab, and Beagle mix who is a sweet, loving, and protective companion. She loves belly rubs, treats, cuddles, walks, and plush toys—especially taking the squeakers out of them! She can be cautious with new people and may bark initially, but once she has a chance to sniff you and get comfortable, she warms up quickly. She knows “give me paw” and has a moderate energy level—she enjoys walks and attention but is also perfectly happy relaxing and doing her own thing. Khloe’s biggest need is companionship. She does not like being alone and experiences separation anxiety. She should be crated when left home alone because she may have accidents if left loose, although she may cry while crated. She would thrive with a retired person, someone who works from home, or a household where someone is home often. She has no special medical needs, but she does shed quite a bit. Her vaccinations recently expired on 7/25/26 and will need to be updated. Khloe is truly a protector and a lover who deserves a home where she can have the attention, company, and affection she loves. ❤️
