Story
Maya is a sweet 13-year-old little lady who weighs just 8.8 pounds. She has spent her life in a quiet home with retired owners, so she enjoys a calm, peaceful environment.Maya is curious and friendly, though she likes to take a little time to warm up to new people and situations. She's not especially high-energy, but she loves spending time outdoors and enjoys leisurely walks. When another dog passes by, Maya may let out a few barks to say hello, but she's not interested in barking at squirrels or rabbits. One of her favorite cozy habits is burrowing under a blanket for a comfortable nap.

Story
If you're looking for twice the love, twice the laughs, and two devoted companions, meet Muttley and Jeff, an adorable bonded pair of Chihuahua/Terrier mixes looking for a forever home together.Muttley (4 years, 12 pounds) is the outgoing social butterfly of the duo. With his adorable snub nose (we think there may be a little Pug in his family tree!), friendly personality, and slightly chunky figure, he's impossible not to love. Muttley has never met a stranger that he's not ready to make into a new friend. His foster mom has learned to keep a close eye on mealtimes because Muttley is always happy to "help" finish anyone else's food or treats if given the opportunity!Jeff (6 years, 10 pounds) is a little more reserved. New places and unfamiliar people can make him nervous, so he'll need a patient adopter willing to let him settle in at his own pace. Because of this, potential adopters will meet the pair in their foster home in the Apple Valley/Lakeville area, where Jeff feels safe and comfortable. Once he knows you're his person, though, his sweet personality shines through. Jeff is incredibly affectionate, loves to snuggle, and forms deep bonds with the people he trusts.Jeff does have a seizure disorder that is well-managed with twice-daily phenobarbital. His medication costs about $30 per month, and he takes it easily when tucked into a bit of cheese or meat. His foster family has found that his seizures are fairly well controlled with this routine.Their favorite pastime? Playing! Both Muttley and Jeff love toys, especially a good game of tug-of-war with each other or their people. Whether they're entertaining themselves with toys or curling up beside you for a quiet evening, they're happiest simply being together.Muttley and Jeff have already been through the uncertainty of losing their home after being abandoned and finding their way to animal control before being rescued. Through it all, they've remained devoted to each other, and they're looking for a family who will keep them together for the rest of their lives. If you have room in your heart and home for two loyal little companions, Muttley and Jeff are ready to reward your patience with endless love, laughter, and companionship. If you are interested in Muttley and Jeff, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $800. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
Plum is a 2-year-old Beagle/Pit mix and a bright, affectionate dog with tons of potential. At 42 pounds, she's the ultimate cuddlebug with a sincere love of blankets. If you hold one open, she'll burrow right underneath for cozy snuggles! She's house-trained, crate-trained for bedtime, and incredibly smart. Honestly, she might just be the future valedictorian of obedience school! Plum is very tuned in to her humans and loves learning what you want from her. She'll be happiest in a detached home where she can enjoy a quieter environment without close neighboring walls. While Plum has experienced some anxiety in her foster home, she's made significant progress with the help of new medication. Even more encouraging, when she stayed with another family, they described her as "calm and chill" and were surprised to hear she'd ever needed to see a veterinary behaviorist! We think she may simply thrive in a quieter home with less outside noise than a busy city environment.Plum loves training and playtime, but she's outgrown that nonstop puppy energy and is best described as a medium-energy dog. She enjoys having opportunities to learn, explore, and interact with her people, then settling in for some cozy downtime. These days, she'd much rather have something satisfying to chew on than chase a ball.Plum is looking for a very specific forever home where she can truly succeed. She needs to be the only pet, so no cats or other dogs. Because she's an enthusiastic, physical dog who expresses both her playfulness and affection with her whole body, she'd also do best in a home without small children. A detached home is important so she isn't sharing walls with neighbors, helping her enjoy the quiet environment where she thrives. With the right home willing to guide her, provide structure, and offer a peaceful environment, Plum is sure to blossom into an amazing lifelong companion. If you are interested in Plum, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration).
