Story
Meet Corrine, a sweet and happy little girl who has been the best mix of playful, affectionate, and easygoing. She gets playful bursts of energy and is regularly spotted having the backyard zoomies, but then wants to cuddle up and nap on the couch with her people whenever possible. Like a puppy that's 100% committed to everything she does, she falls asleep almost instantly which is evidenced by puppy snores and sleep toots echoing through the house (she's a real lady). More than anything, Corrine just wants to be included. She is happiest being part of everyday life, whether that means cuddling on the couch, riding along for a quick errand, playing outside with the neighbors, or visiting dog and human friends. She is confident in new places and so easygoing that bringing her along is natural. She truly thrives on human companionship and loves simply being near people. Corrine has been fostered around children ages 7–16 and also spent a long weekend with 1- and 4-year-olds. She has been respectful and tolerant with kids, happily letting them pet and play with her while ignoring the commotion. She is very willing to help clean up any food that happens to hit the floor and share all the toys (theirs and hers). Coco has been making good progress with crate and potty training. Outside, Corrine will entertain herself in the yard pouncing on leaves and bugs or watching the birds and neighbors. Inside, she will pounce from toy to toy while collecting them in her bed to later cuddle with. When she is feeling spunky, she'll let you know by wanting to work for treats or attention, or will start teasing you with toys to play a quick round of fetch. You'll know when she is happy, as she does the cutest little front paw dance-wave when she's excited or wants to show you how cute she is. Corrine is an incredibly special little girl, recently conquering puppy pneumonia that kept her feeling pretty sick for a long time. We are so happy she got to come to MN to get healthy and have the opportunity to share her cute antics. She’s looking for someone who will let her tag along for life's everyday adventures, give her plenty of cuddles, and maybe keep a little cheese handy. Corrine is estimated to be 6.5 months old and 22 lbs. Since we dont know the dogs actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, and have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at https://safehandsrescue.org/adoption-process/ and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events! Please note: All dogs/puppies will not be at every event, and some may find their home prior to the event. If you are interested in a specific animal, please check our Facebook page for confirmed attendance the morning of the event: https://www.facebook.com/safehandsrescue/ You do not need to have a Facebook account to check the Safe Hands Facebook page for attendance. We hope to see you at an upcoming Meet & Greet! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Meet Pookie! Chihuahua/Pug Mix | Sweet, Silly & Full of Zoomies! ❤️ Hi, I’m Pookie , and I’m one happy little guy! I’m a super sweet boy who absolutely loves people and wants to be wherever the fun is happening. I’ve been having a blast exploring my new surroundings and checking out all the toys here. So far, I’ve tried several, and honestly… I love them all! I haven’t picked a favorite yet because there are just too many good choices! I love being close to my person and soaking up some cuddle time, but I also enjoy hanging out with the other pups. When it’s time to play, I’m ready to GO! I love a good game of chase, and let me tell you… this little guy is FAST! I’m also a very enthusiastic eater and think pretty much everything I’m served is delicious. If you’re looking for a bouncing bundle of fun who also loves to cuddle , Pookie might just be your guy! He’ll keep you entertained with his silly toy antics, playful personality, and adorable zoomies. ❤️ Pookie is ready to find his forever family and fill their home with fun, love, and plenty of cuddles!   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  Bulldogs, pugs, and Boston terriers, Brussels Griffons, Pekingese and others are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure this breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average brachycephalic breed owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs. In addition to other surgeries, this dog may have had surgery on their nares and soft palate to improve the quality of their breathing.  This will be partially reflected within her adoption fee. These breeds are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for these breeds usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires a separate application and an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. This dog requires a Bulldog Application.  All applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application. To learn more, visit  https://underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/bulldogs/ to fill out the Bulldog application. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Welcome Johnny to CCPAL Rescue. Johnny is a 7-month-old Pug mixed pup. He is a beautiful tan color with a black muzzle. He has an underbite and a shortened nose. He is a bigger-sized boy pup in the liter. He weighs about 15 pounds now and will be a small dog full grown. He has an adorable underbite and is great with other dogs. He is active but not over the top. He has the curly tail like the traditional pug but maybe the curl is less tight. He is a laid-back boy and was easy to take photos with. They all have curly tails and the round adorable heads. Johnny is one of two boys in the litter. He was the last puppy to come out of his kennel as he was enjoying his nap. He was very workable and stood still and sat willingly on the table for the photo shoot. They are all affectionate and cuddly. They are very playful with their siblings. Johnny is social and would be a great dog to take to the local coffee shop. He loves all people and is call in loud situations. They go on a wee pad but are not fully potty trained. They are good in a crate and are getting regular attention and love at the Rescue. We don’t have the privilege of adopting out many pugs. We are excited to find the pug pups their forever home. We would love pug people for these pups, as they know the breed most. They will be spayed and neutered and ready for their forever home soon. Someone that doesn’t work all day every day is the best candidate for a puppy. These pups would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older as these pups are small and very trusting of everyone. Johnny is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1869 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See his cute video!!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Some dogs spend their lives asking for very little, yet give absolutely everything in return. Martha is one of those dogs. This sweet 13-year-old Shih Tzu-Pug mix has the gentlest soul you could ever hope to meet. Though she is small and delicate, her heart is overflowing with quiet love. In her golden years, Martha moves through the world at a soft, unhurried pace, seeking out warm blankets, cozy corners, and long, peaceful naps in her favorite bed. Martha is a true cuddle expert. Her favorite place in the world is right beside you, snuggled close, sharing her calm, comforting presence. Whether she’s resting her head in your lap or tucked into her blankets, she brings a sense of peace to everyone around her. She is currently in the early stages of kidney disease and needs a little extra care, but what she gives back in return is immeasurable. Martha has a beautiful way of reminding you to slow down, cherish quiet moments, and find joy in life’s simplest pleasures. Senior dogs like Martha are so often overlooked, yet they have some of the biggest hearts. She isn’t looking for adventure or excitement—she’s simply hoping for a family to love her through her golden years. A warm bed, gentle hands, and someone to share her days with are all she asks for. The family who opens their heart to Martha won’t just be giving an older dog a home—they’ll be giving her the happy ending every dog deserves. And in return, Martha will fill your home with quiet companionship, unconditional love, and the kind of gratitude that can’t be put into words. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to truly change a life, Martha is waiting to show you.
