Maya is a sweet 13-year-old little lady who weighs just 8.8 pounds. She has spent her life in a quiet home with retired owners, so she enjoys a calm, peaceful environment.Maya is curious and friendly, though she likes to take a little time to warm up to new people and situations. She's not especially high-energy, but she loves spending time outdoors and enjoys leisurely walks. When another dog passes by, Maya may let out a few barks to say hello, but she's not interested in barking at squirrels or rabbits. One of her favorite cozy habits is burrowing under a blanket for a comfortable nap.

Story
If you're looking for twice the love, twice the laughs, and two devoted companions, meet Muttley and Jeff, an adorable bonded pair of Chihuahua/Terrier mixes looking for a forever home together.Muttley is the outgoing social butterfly of the duo. With his adorable snub nose (we think there may be a little Pug in his family tree!), friendly personality, and slightly chunky figure, he's impossible not to love. Muttley has never met a stranger that he's not ready to make into a new friend. His foster mom has learned to keep a close eye on mealtimes because Muttley is always happy to "help" finish anyone else's food or treats if given the opportunity!Jeff is a little more reserved. New places and unfamiliar people can make him nervous, so he'll need a patient adopter willing to let him settle in at his own pace. Because of this, potential adopters will meet the pair in their foster home in the Apple Valley/Lakeville area, where Jeff feels safe and comfortable. Once he knows you're his person, though, his sweet personality shines through. Jeff is incredibly affectionate, loves to snuggle, and forms deep bonds with the people he trusts.Jeff does have a seizure disorder that is well-managed with twice-daily phenobarbital. His medication costs about $30 per month, and he takes it easily when tucked into a bit of cheese or meat. His foster family has found that his seizures are fairly well controlled with this routine.Their favorite pastime? Playing! Both Muttley and Jeff love toys, especially a good game of tug-of-war with each other or their people. Whether they're entertaining themselves with toys or curling up beside you for a quiet evening, they're happiest simply being together.Muttley and Jeff have already been through the uncertainty of losing their home after being abandoned and finding their way to animal control before being rescued. Through it all, they've remained devoted to each other, and they're looking for a family who will keep them together for the rest of their lives. If you have room in your heart and home for two loyal little companions, Muttley and Jeff are ready to reward your patience with endless love, laughter, and companionship. If you are interested in Muttley and Jeff, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $800. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Meet Lady! She's apx 10 years old and traveled a long ways to MN. She came to Legends in Early October, and we're learning more about her each day. So far, she's been great with dogs, cats, and all humans that she's met. She is coming out of her shell each day as she decompresses and starts to show us her personality. She likes to follow her people around the house and is loving beds and couches! Lady is a gentle senior looking to spend her golden years in comfort. She's food motivated and curious. She's already started trying out sweaters as we anticipate MN winters to be quite the adjustment! Medical stuff: She recently had a dental, and is noted to have a very mild heart murmur. Medication is not required for it at this time. We've got her on a joint supplement for some probable arthritis, and she also has a sensitive trachea and will cough occasionally, but otherwise is a healthy older lady! *We only adopt and foster our animals within a 60 mile radius from New Brighton, MN* All of our adoptable animals can be seen by appointment. Apply to adopt here: https://www.legendssenioranimalrescue.org/our-forms-2 Apply to foster here: https://www.legendssenioranimalrescue.org/foster-application All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment. You can contact us through our website at http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/contact/ or visit our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LegendsRescue/ if you have further questions or would like to schedule a meet and greet. FOSTER CARE: Our rescues are fostered in individual homes or at our facility. We work hard to ensure that our rescues have a supportive family while at foster homes to help them move forward and get ready for their forever home. We work on training, crate-training and socialization before an animal is adopted out. Foster homes are extremely important to the success of the cat at their forever home, and it is extremely rewarding to be able to watch the cats growth as you help them on their journey to their happy ending. YOU CAN HELP: If you’re not able to foster or adopt right now, please consider sponsoring a Legend. Your donation will help with our care and pay for medical costs. Story
Meet Chippy! He is a 20lb 6 year old Chihuahua mix. This sweetheart was dumped outside of a PetSmart in a kennel in North Carolina. From his foster: October update: Chippy is a very good boy- quiet and gentle! He's experienced some trauma in his early life but is learning to trust, come out of his shell, and live his best life. When the weather is nice he loves to relax in the sun, take a walk with his stroller, and meet new dogs in the neighborhood or dog park. Chippy is very food motivated and gets super excited at meal time and when he can earn treats. Chippy is great with other dogs, cats, and children. August Update: He is very calm, a little timid and we have not heard a single bark out of him. He loves to snuggle, has a good appetite and enjoys prancing around the yard finding treats we put out for him. He has a passing interested in cats but no chasing instinct. He doesn't seem to have experience with stairs so we are approaching that slowly. He likes balls and will fetch!! He had a couple accidents through the transition but is getting into the swing of things. We are currently working on leash walking. He likes to be active in the yard and is starting to let loose but wants to be a very good boy. Easy to train with treats. He seems to match the energy level with the rest of us, relaxing when we need to work from home and getting excited for walks or backyard time. *We only adopt and foster our animals within a 60 mile radius from New Brighton, MN* All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment. Story
Will that one blue eye stay blue? Only time will tell. Sherbet is one of a litter of 5 pups surrendered to PUP to be re-homed. The family had two adult females dogs who had pups at about the same time. Not being fussy, the pups happily nursed on and were cared for by both mommies. We do not have a picture of mom but were told she is cream colored and about 30# with a short coat. That fits with what the pups look like. We have no clue who daddy might be. The mommies did a good job caring for them and the puppies arrived at their foster home in good health. We had DNA testing done on one pup from the litter and have not gotten the results back. We are making a guess here and could be way wrong, but we suspect there may have been an Eskimo, some kind of smaller herding dog, a Chihuahua or a husky involved. Dogs from the area usually have 15-30 identifiable breeds so they are quite the mix. We think puppy will be in the lower in of mid-size when full grown but that is best guess and her adopter should be ready to love and cuddle pup if she is larger or smaller than predicted. At her vet appointment on 7-7 he weighed 5.3# and 7 weeks. The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Puppy has been vet checked, is vaccinated, and de-wormed. He will need two additional puppy vaccinations plus rabies at the adopters expense. We do place puppies outside the metro area if a firm plan for the alter surgery is in place; we do not ship. His required alter surgery is covered by the adoption fee if it is done by 6 months at the PUP clinic. We require that he be altered by 6 months. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. We are pretty slow at responding to e-mail. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested.

Story
Hazel is a sweet athletic young lady with a lot of love to give. Hazel was an abandoned dog in a remote rural area. She took up residence under the stairs of a dog loving Elder. The Elder asked if we could take the little dog into rescue as the pooch was homeless, pregnant and it was very cold. The Good Samaritan has stayed in touch with PUP, making regular inquiries about how she is getting along. Very well, thank you. Hazel is a beautiful girl who has been a devoted mommy but is ready to pass on the responsibility to someone else. We had DNA testing done on one pup from the litter. Based on that testing we got Hazel’s DNA. She is Chihuahua, Siberian Husky, Australian Cattle dog, and German Shepherd. She weighs about 30# and is remarkably agile. If someone is looking for a dog to train in agility, Hazel might be your pooch. Check out the video linked at the end of the bio. The area where she came from had many loose and stray dogs so she was accustomed to that environment, but her Good Samaritan said she acted fearful there. In her Saint Paul home she has gotten along well with the resident dog, but is slow to meet new dogs. She is careful meeting new people and it takes her a few minutes to warm up. If given the option she would love to share the bed with her person. Hazel has been vet checked, is vaccinated spayed, and de-wormed. When she was spapyed we found a buckshot pellet suggesting a story we will never hear but can imagine. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a dog, please e-mail us at jw@ansrmn.org . Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a dog. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested. APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. Pepper Ann is a 1yo (DOB 5/1/25) female Chihuahua that enjoys going to SAMS and meeting people. She is laid back and non-aggressive. With her great temperament she should be good with cats. I would not recommend her to an environment with children, maybe quiet teenagers who would love to hold her. She has adjusted well to the numerous dogs and humans in my household. She is crate trained and is a very clean indoor dog. Pepper Ann quickly learned to use the doggy door and regularly goes outside to do her thing. She enjoys being in the sun and just relaxing. She is house trained and we are working on leash training. She definitely enjoys car rides and waits patiently at times for me to return back to my car (but she is kept in a small crate in my car). Overall, Pepper Ann is a very sweet, smart and a loving, quiet girl. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You will receive the dog's folder with all the printouts proving the medical treatments received. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you will have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. Story
To apply for a dog from All Dog Rescue, please fill out our online application at www.AllDogMN.org.  All Dog Rescue only adopts to homes within 60-miles of the Twin Cities. Visit our FAQ page to learn why. Hey, I'm Charlie... eleven years of wisdom wrapped up in one mellow, blanket-loving package. I'm the kind of guy who knows how to take it easy but still appreciates the finer things: slow walks, quiet company, and a really good snuggle session.I'm proud to say I'm fully house-trained (score one for the grown-ups!), though I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with nail trims. They're my personal kryptonite. Luckily, I've learned to outsource that chore to the vet.I'm generally friendly with other dogs, though I do like to have my own space especially when it comes to food or treats. So, while I would be cool with having another dog in the house, I definitely wouldn't mind being the solo star in a quieter home. Little kids tend to overwhelm me a bit, and cats? Well, let's just say my 'chase mode' kicks in way too fast, so a cat-free zone is definitely best for everyone. When it comes to meeting new people, I'm pretty welcoming. I enjoy a good pet and some calm company &#194&#151 bonus points if you're a fan of blanket forts because that's basically my happy place. Outside, I like daily walks and spending time roaming around the fenced yard sniffing the grass and watching the birds. Sometimes I get so excited about all the smells I can't contain my zoomies!I do take a daily allergy pill to keep things comfortable, but it never slows me down when it comes to soaking up affection or savoring peaceful moments. If you're looking for a steady, gentle companion who's all about the little joys &#194&#151 a nice walk, a cozy cuddle, and a warm spot on the couch &#194&#151 I'm ready to meet you.To apply for a dog from All Dog Rescue, please fill out our online application at: alldogmn.org/Adopt.htmlAll Dog Rescue adopts out to homes within 60-miles of the Twin Cities due to post-adoption services and volunteer commitment. Story
Jackson is a happy, spirited little guy with a big personality and an adventurous streak. He’s the kind of pup who approaches life with excitement and curiosity, always ready for a walk, a new toy, or time spent with his favorite people. Confident, playful, and full of charm, Jackson brings a lot of joy and energy wherever he goes. He’s doing very well learning the routines of home life and is almost fully house trained. Jackson has also done great with cats and kids, making him a fun and affectionate companion for a family looking for an active little sidekick. He loves going on walks and handles seeing other dogs quite calmly while out and about. He learns quickly and responds well to guidance. Jackson is playful and entertaining without being overwhelming, and he loves being close to his people. At bedtime, he prefers sleeping near his humans and settles much more comfortably when he has a cozy spot nearby rather than being isolated. He’s a social little dog who enjoys companionship and likes feeling included in the household routine. He’s expected to stay relatively small, making him an easy companion to bring along on adventures or cuddle up with at home. Jackson would thrive with a family that will continue building his confidence, social skills, and training while giving him the love and consistency he deserves. In return, he’ll bring endless entertainment, affection, and loyal companionship. Jackson is estimated to be 8 months old and 22 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at https://safehandsrescue.org/adoption-process/ and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting.
