WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌲💛 Meet Forest — The Puggle With the Snuggles! 💛🌲 (2 Years • ~25 lbs • Certified Good Boy) If you’ve been wishing for a dog who’s equal parts adorable, cheerful, snuggly, and slightly goofy in the BEST possible way… congratulations, you’ve just found Forest — the Puggle who brings sunshine, tail wags, and pure serotonin everywhere he goes. At 2 years old and around 25 pounds, Forest is the perfect “I fit anywhere” size — couch? Yes. Car seat? Absolutely. Your lap even when you just sat down with hot coffee? Oh, 100%. This fawn-colored sweetheart has a warm expression that could melt the polar ice caps and a personality that says, “Hi, I love you, what’s your name, do you have snacks?” He’s friendly, charming, and convinced that every human and dog he meets is his new best friend. 🐾 Forest’s Favorite Things: • Walks where he can sniff 92,000 smells per minute • Treats (your fingers may or may not become “bonus treats”) • Being included in anything — chores, TV time, folding laundry, life decisions • Wagging his whole butt, not just the tail • Making people laugh with his joyful Puggle antics Forest is housebroken with the help of a dog door, kennel trained, and an easy, happy companion in the home. He floats through life with the spirit of a tiny golden retriever trapped in a Puggle body. He recently completed heartworm treatment (fast-kill, immiticide), and he’s expected to test negative at his next check — meaning he’s ready for his fresh start, his forever family, and hopefully a spot on your couch. He’s great with other dogs and wonderful with kids! Cats? Well… they’re still a mystery, but at his size and temperament, he’s likely to be more “confused friend” than “villain.” 🌟 Forest’s Stats: • 2-year-old Pug/Beagle mix • 25 lbs of happy wiggles • Housebroken + kennel trained • Friendly, playful, loyal, and easygoing • HW treated and ready for a healthy future • Good with dogs + kids • Cat status: to be determined (he's optimistic) He is currently with a neighboring rescue partner — we work together to save as many lives as we can — and we will happily pull him into Hay Dude Rescue to complete his adoption. If you’re searching for a dog who lights up every room, fills your life with laughter, and gives the BEST “I missed you for 10 whole minutes” greetings… Forest is ready to join your family and your heart. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org — Forest is ready to start his new chapter full of love, joy, and so many treats. 🐾💛

Story
CLEO | 8 years old | 10-pounds*Alright, STOP. Collaborate and listen…She cute but she is expensive.Cleo will need prescription food and medication for the remainder of her life. Still interested? Read on!—--Straight from her foster’s mouth to your ears.. erhmm.. eyes.. learn more about Cleo directly from the source! They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend.. And you better have a lot of them. To sell. To pay for her vet care.Haha! Just kidding! *looks around* Kind of..Cleo has a condition called protein-losing enteropathy (PLE) caused by irritable bowel disease. She loses proteins from her bloodstream into her GI tract faster than her body can replenish them and her medical management helps regulate this condition.Cleo’s daily life is unaffected by this and she does your everyday dog things. The only addition is giving her medication (pills) with her morning and evening meals which she takes without problem.Still interested? Then you’re ready to hear our secret..—--Cleo is a GEM. A truly one-of-a-kind companion. So without further ado, here’s what you need to know about Cleo!Extremely smart. Eats her own poop. In a glass-half-full kind of world, you could consider her a self-poop picker-upper. (But really, you are going to have to go out in those subzero temps and pick up her poop before she does.)She is well potty trained but her medications/condition cause some accidents if she is unable to be let out after a certain amount of time. She understands cues quickly and even knows sit, shake, high five, and can catch her food mid-air!Farts can clear a room. They just get stronger. Rootin’ Tootin’ Cleo should be in the Guinness Book of Records or something.Teeters on being the fun police. Still fun.Cleo coexists with dogs big and small but can sometimes be a playtime hall monitor. That said, if she finds the right dog with the right playstyle, she has a good time playing chase and wrestling!Loves tug o’ war. Hates fetch. If you throw her toy, she’s going to look at you like what are you even doing. On a scale of one to barky, she’s about a five. While Cleo doesn’t bark all day long, she is going to warn you about car doors slamming, people talking, the general goings on of the world. And her bark be loud so shared walls may not be the best fit for her. She stops with some guidance pretty quickly.. usually.. sometimes..Loves food. Hates sharing. Cleo’s favorite times of the day are, hands down, breakfast and dinner. And she’s got that only child syndrome (I can say that, I’m an only child) where everything is hers. Her food. Her toys. Your food. All hers. And she will tell anyone who needs to know.Supposedly a Chihuahua/Pug mix. Definitely just as needy. Pug parents, am I right? Cleo will climb on your lap, push her way to your hands, and really doesn’t care if she’s stepping on another dog to get to the top. We mean that figuratively. Well.. except for those times when she’s literally walking over a dog to get to you.Likes to give kisses. Licks everything. Literally everything.. the couch, the floor, the carpet, the coffee table, your clothes, and your face.Cleo is great with kids of all ages but it’s probably best that she live in a home with teens or no kids on account of how much she loves food. Because she has PLE, Cleo needs to be on a restricted diet and can’t be catching scraps or snagging food from those little hands. Because she would. She totally would. This girl’s personality is a great balance of play and chill, and she walks so well on a leash.. when it’s actually warm out.. A lap dog through and through, Cleo wants to be snuggled in with you, often under a blanket (Chihuahua parents, you get it). She's content to snooze on the couch or a dog bed when you're gone and she can fit into any social situation.Cleo is one of the best dogs out there and whoever has the privilege of adopting her is going to know love (and toots) beyond measure!—--*Opening Line Credit: Vanilla Ice - “Ice Ice Baby”Cleo came to Pet Haven Rescue with a severe case of PLE. Her levels are back to normal with the help of food and medication management.More on protein-losing enteropathy (PLE): https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/proteinlosing-enteropathy-ple-in-dogs—--If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling: https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $250. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Story
Snapshot of Stanley: Size? Small, ~8 lbs right now! Activity Level? I play hard and snuggle harder! Noise Level? I bark to let you know when something is happening or when I want your attention. Good with Dogs? I love other dogs! Good with Cats? I don’t care about cats, they’re boring. Good with Kids? Yes! Good with Strangers? Yes! Potty Trained? Working on it! Crate Trained? I’m getting there! I cry a little in my crate but settle down well. Shedding? Minimal. About Stanley: Hi, my name is Stanley! I’m a tiny but mighty chihuahua mix (we think) that was transferred to TCPR from a shelter in Texas. I may be small, but don’t let that fool you – I have tons of puppy energy and a larger-than-life personality. I love to be carried and follow the humans around the house if they insist I keep all four paws on the ground. I spend my time rough-housing with my foster siblings, chasing squeaky toys, and snuggling in your arms or in the dog pile when all that playing tires me out. I love to be around other dogs! I have cats in my foster home, and I ignore them. Kids are great (they match my energy) and I love meeting new human friends. I’m working on my potty and crate training and I’m getting better every day! My new family will have to continue to work on these skills with me. I’ve been introduced to leash walking, which is super confusing by the way, but I know I’ll get the hang of it! I also love all kinds of toys and playing chase with both people and other dogs. My ideal home would be with a family who is ready to take on all things puppy! I have a very sweet personality, but my family will have to be committed to helping me learn my manners as I grow older. I would also love an older canine sibling to play with and show me the ropes. A fenced in yard would also be great! I promise to be your very own pint-sized sidekick if you’ll let me! I can’t wait to meet you! Stanley is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for his age. Adoption Fee: $600 + applicable taxes Training Requirement: Obedience Level 1 Required MEET ME/ADOPT ME: If you’d like to arrange a meeting or begin the adoption process, please fill out an adoption application by visiting https://www.twincitiespetrescue.org/adopt/ or clicking “Apply for Adoption”. A volunteer from Twin Cities Pet Rescue will contact you within 3 business days. FOSTER HOMES NEEDED!!! Twin Cities Pet Rescue is a volunteer-run, foster home-based organization.
