🐾 Meet Flora! 🐾
Are you up for a little challenge and ready to make a BIG difference in a timid dog’s life? Then sweet Flora may be the girl you’ve been waiting for! 💕
Flora is a 2-year-old, 17-pound Cockapoo who is still learning what it means to be a beloved family dog. Her past didn’t give her the opportunity to simply be a puppy, and she is now learning—at her own pace—how wonderful life can be.
Flora is a very shy and sensitive girl, but she is making progress every day. She is slowly learning to let her guard down, carry toys around, and even have a little fun! She has started playing short games of chase with her foster sibling in the yard, and watching her tail wag as she gains confidence has been incredibly rewarding. 🥰
She is still nervous around people, especially when they stand up or move toward her. She may freeze or tense up when she feels unsure, so she needs a family who understands that trust takes time. She isn’t going to run into your arms on day one—and that’s okay! Her family will need to give her the time and space she needs to feel safe.
Flora is doing well with potty training and knows that her business belongs outside. Coming back into the house after potty breaks and exploring the yard can still be a challenge, but she is learning. With patience and a few extra minutes to decompress, she is becoming more comfortable with the routine.
Her leash skills are also a work in progress. She does best walking on a harness and has made great strides from where she started. Having another confident dog around has helped her tremendously, and we believe a friendly canine companion in her forever home could help Flora continue to blossom. A secure, fenced-in yard would be ideal for her.
Flora is also wonderfully tolerant when it comes to grooming and handling. She allows her foster family to bathe her, brush her, and trim her nails. She simply needs people who will respect her boundaries and allow her to build trust rather than expecting her to immediately become a cuddly lap dog.
One of Flora’s cutest quirks? She prefers to eat when the house is quiet. During the day, she may leave her food untouched, but once the lights go out and everyone settles in for the night, she happily munches away. It’s just another reminder that this sweet girl needs to feel safe and secure before she can completely relax.
Flora isn’t looking for a perfect family—she’s looking for a patient one. ❤️
She needs someone who will celebrate the little victories: the first toy she proudly carries, the first time she chooses to come closer, the first playful zoom around the yard, and eventually… those precious puppy kisses we’ve been waiting for.

Flora is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Potential adopters must be willing to travel to **Berks County, Pennsylvania**, for a meet and greet. If you have current residential dogs, **all resident dogs must attend the meet and greet**.
