Meet Nylo Nylo is a 4‑year‑old male Cockapoo weighing about 15 lbs who is navigating a big season of change. He was surrendered to ACCT Philly when his owner faced ongoing issues with their landlord, and now Nylo is looking for a soft landing with a loving family who can help him feel safe and secure again. According to his owner, Nylo is an active, playful guy with a love for plush toys and lots of energy to burn. He is house‑trained, currently working on crate training, and enjoys staying busy. He can be nervous in new situations and around children, so he’ll do best in a home that understands his need for patience and gentle guidance. With our volunteers, Nylo needed some time to get comfortable, but once we moved at his pace, he showed just how much he can relax and trust. He especially enjoys being outside in the play yard, where he can decompress, explore, and show off a happier, more confident side of himself. Nylo is looking for a calm, loving home that will give him the consistency, reassurance, and time he needs to settle in after all these changes. In return, he’ll bring playfulness, loyalty, and plenty of personality along for the ride. He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. Nylo came pretty matted to ACCT Philly, so his legs were shaved. Our amazing groomers are working on the rest of his coat. He would need to meet any resident dogs. Finn had a very difficult life before coming to us, being used as a breeder dog his entire life. He is extremely shut down at this time but is slowly starting to learn safety. He will need an adult only home with at least one other dog. We are confident he will make a wonderful family member for a very lucky family, who understands his past and gives him the time he needs to trust them and his new surroundings. Adopting a puppy mill survivor is life-changing—for you and them. For these dogs, everything is new and often overwhelming: people, houses, stairs, leashes, food bowls, collars, toys, TVs, ovens, doorways, pavement…the list goes on. They need adopters who can move slowly, be patient, keep expectations reasonable, and provide the understanding and tools they need to grow into happy, confident companions. Patience, positive reinforcement, and understanding are key!
