Meet Bobby, our handsome 2-year-and-5-month-old Cockapoo who is looking for his forever home. ❤️ Born April 18, 2024, Bobby is fully grown at just under 20 pounds, giving him such a great in-between size—not too small and not too big. He’s sturdy enough for everyday adventures and playtime with other dogs while still being a wonderfully manageable size to take along wherever life leads. Bobby came to us after his previous owner experienced the heartbreaking loss of her husband. With so many unexpected life changes following his passing, she needed to move in with her daughter and grandchildren, where there were already other dogs in the home. She loved Bobby very much and ultimately felt that everything changing around him wasn’t the life she wanted for him. She reached out to us so that we could give him some stability while finding the loving family and forever home he deserved. When Bobby arrived, his coat was significantly matted and unfortunately couldn’t be saved. His previous owner had been going through an incredibly difficult season in her life, and his grooming needs had simply gotten away from her. Our groomer gave Bobby a fresh start and took his coat down short, and his beautiful Cockapoo coat is already growing back in. With routine brushing and professional grooming moving forward, he’ll have all of that fluffy hair back before long. Bobby can be a little shy when he first meets someone new, but he’s really more observant than anything. He simply likes a moment to take you in, figure out who you are, and become familiar with you. He warms up quickly, and once you become his person, he will love you with absolutely everything he has to give. He’s a very sweet, happy boy who gets genuinely excited when he sees us walking through the door. His overall demeanor is quiet and serene, and he isn’t a barker. He’s also not a high-energy dog. Bobby loves his walks and enjoys being included in whatever his people are doing outside of the home, but he’s equally content spending a lazy afternoon lounging around with you for as long as you’d like. Bobby is wonderful with other dogs and has done beautifully with the different personalities and sizes he’s encountered while with us. He is house trained and does wonderfully about going outside when asked. He’s also great on road trips and around town, making him such an easy little companion to bring along. At night, Bobby sleeps peacefully through the entire night in his crate. He’s very comfortable with his bedtime routine, but I could absolutely see him transitioning to sleeping on a dog bed beside his future owner if that’s where they would eventually prefer him to be. He is wonderful at the groomers as well, which will be important throughout his life. Regular brushing and professional grooming will need to remain part of his routine to keep his coat healthy and comfortable. Bobby received a wonderful overall examination with our veterinarian and is fully vetted. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on his vaccines. Enchanting Ella is ready to steal your heart! This beautiful 7- 8-year-old, 22-pound tricolor Cocker Spaniel was surrendered to AFC when her family faced a medical emergency. Ella is a sweet, smart girl who would love nothing more than to be the queen of your castle! Her favorite thing in the world is her tennis ball—she carries it everywhere! She is housebroken and will stand at the door to let you know she needs out. She walks nicely on a leash, rides well in the car. She is a very smart girl and knows sit, stay, down, and come. Ella does okay with other dogs but would be happiest as your special girl. Ella will need a securely fenced yard because this clever girl is an escape artist. Breed experience is please as we strive for the perfect match for all of our dogs, and she will need regular professional grooming. Meet Phoebe. This gentle girl was found as a stray in San Jose and taken to the shelter. Phoebe's foster mom describes her as a "pretty, petite, sweet girl. She walks nicely on a leash and is friendly to all she meets, both dogs and people. Phoebe is a velcro girl. She wants to stay close to her person. She rides well in the car. Met Libby. This sweet girl joined the NorCal family when she was found wandering around a neighborhood. After some checking, it was discovered that she had been rescued from a hoarding situation and adopted to a family that did not want her. Libby is a total sweetheart. She is still somewhat shy, but appears to be blossoming everyday. She will come to you for pets, but is still not quite ready to jump in your lap. She gets a long well with other dogs, walks easily on a leash and rides well in the car. She is not showing any aggression or reactivity. Meet Ella. This precious little girl joined the NorCal family when he owner could not provide the best care for her. Ella spent the majority of her life in a backyard, so she is very shy, skittish and fearful of people. She does well with other dogs. We are hoping to find a home for Ella that is quiet, without a lot of activity, preferably with a single person or couple that can introduce Ella slowly and gradually to other people and that has another dog to help Ella with socialization. No children, please. Ella is slowly being introduced to the outside world and appears to be gradually gaining some confidence. She is a mellow, easy going little girl. She rides well in the car, walks easily on a leash and is not aggressive or reactive in anyway. Once Ella is feeling safe she can be a playful, happy girl.
